CHRISTMAS AT LIBERTY'S LONDON
On a wet Wednesday evening this week I took a trip over to Liberty Department Store just off Regent Street in London's West End. It's a place I've always been fond of as I actually worked there for a few years when I first moved to London.
The mock Tudor frontage that we see here in Great Marlborough Street was added on to the already existing building in Regent Street back in 1924 during a mini Tudor revival, although the owner and founder Arthur Liberty didn't quite live long enough to see the completion of both buildings together.
Amazingly much of the more familiar Tudor frontage and interiors was built from the timbers of two ships.
Of course at this time of the year many of the customers can be seen heading for the fourth floor, otherwise known as The Christmas Department.
A shame though that I was forced to erase the true festive sounds of the music in the Christmas Department. I think it takes away a lot of the Liberty atmosphere. I guess I need to try and find some sound effects that reflect a busy Store if I'm ever going to film inside a shop again. But it was a pleasure visiting my old workplace so close to the run up to Christmas.
Christmas in mid November doesn't quite do it for me.

CHRISTMAS AT CHARLES DICKENS HOUSE
Переглядів 98219 годин тому
While on a festive video spree this week, I popped over to King's Cross for my second visit to The Charles Dickens Museum at 48 Doughty Street. And it was this house in which Dickens first moved into with his young wife Catherine and their new young child in 1837, the year Queen Victoria began her long reign. In the video I explore the many well kept rooms including the front Dining Room where ...
A FESTIVE ROYAL ALBERT HALL

It's Christmas time in London and in my search for out of the way festive attractions, I'm lead towards South Kensington for the annual Christmas tree outside The Royal Albert Hall. This iconic Hall has been home to Concerts, Sports, and Military events as well as the Summer Proms, and was first opened on March 29th 1871 by Queen Victoria and renamed in Prince Albert's memory. THE ROYAL ALBERT ...
SUMMER LOOKBACK AT SPEAKERS CORNER

So I came across some fairly recent unedited footage I shot at Speakers Corner London during the Summers of 2022 and 2023. And as the footage was gathering dust as they say, I thought I'd put it all together to see what might come out. And as always we see here all the regular characters that frequent Speakers Corner on Sundays. And there's even a brief rare sighting of an old style heckler, a ...

Last week I made two visits to The Victoria & Albert Museum in South Kensington London. And this London cultural landmark was first founded in 1852 and named after Queen Victoria and Prince Albert. The Museum houses over 2.8 million objects including some amazing reproduced statue casts. And one of the galleries I was keen to revisit was The Weston Cast Court which houses some of the building's...
THE BROMPTON ORATORY... A HIDDEN LONDON GEM

This week I visited the spectacular London Brompton Oratory in South Kensington which sits right next door to The Victoria & Albert Museum. The building's first foundation stone was laid in June 1880. And just four years later this grand Church was completed and Consecrated in 1884. Although my visit this week was during a late afternoon as the light was fading, it did seem to add a dark ambien...
White Horse on a Surrey Farm

Here's some short footage of a beautiful white horse I saw while on my recent late Summer visit to Elstead in Surrey, just an hour by train from London. I first saw these same four Farm horses earlier on in the Summer but I had nothing to give them on that first visit. So on my second visit I took a few juicy soft mature Pears. But it was the big white horse that took to the pears and didn't le...
It's Getting Rowdy at Speakers Corner

This weekend saw another visit to Speakers Corner in Hyde Park London, a place I would often visit a few years back when the place had a whole different positive feel about it. Sadly today it's just become a battleground for two opposing Religions. And in my last few visits it barely had very little to do with politics, something that was once the core subject at Speakers Corner, which attracte...
My Budget Day Walkabout

So on Wednesday's Budget Day I headed off to Westminster to take a look around all the activity going on at the media village on College Green close to The Houses of Parliament. This was the Labour Party's first Budget in fourteen years. And it was interesting seeing a few familiar faces including Richard Tice of Reform as well as Stephen Flynn MP, the SNP Leader of Westminster. And moving furt...

It's Not Easy Being A Royal Horse Guard

So for my final (for now) Horse Guards video, here's a few clips I've put together having finally mastered my new video editor, of our King's Royal Horse Guards who have impressed me over my three visits to Whitehall this Autumn. I certainly wouldn't want to be pigeonholed into being just a Horse Guards UA-camr as I believe there's far too many other things going on in our historical capital. T...
Crazy Japanese Dancers in Central London

It's amazing what you might find while walking around Central London. And so here's a group of Japanese dancers putting on a madcap show where they appear to be dancing to a speeded up tune, something that seems popular on several K-Pop tv shows like The After School Club on Arirang TV.

Busy Weekend at Horse Guards

Huge crowds gathered at Horse Guards Parade for the weekend's activities where the weather held out and tourists were all over the place. It seems that they can't get enough of The King's Horse Guards and their wonderful horses. And now that they've created lines around the horse's box which the public must not step into, perhaps there's less pressure on the horses. But of course many tourists ...

Well worth a visit Thank you
And very enjoyable at this time of the year. Thanks.
Wow everyone seems to be bringing it into disrepute ! 🤣🤣🤣
It's certainly not the place it used to be. No wonder the American tourists steer clear of it now.
Been there a few times, its always impressive to see it in person
Yes, It's the kind of place I've happily visited several times, but still not seen all the artifacts. Same with the British Museum. And all a fairly long train journey from Cornwall.

Muslims being aggressive in Speaker’s Corner? Not seen that before 🙄
Im god , im not called Allah
"God's only begotten son" is not in old bible its add on .Deuteronomy 6:4 Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one. Matthew 26:39 ► Going a little farther, he fell with his face to the ground and prayed, “My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will.” Jesus did not die for your sins. Jesus asked God to save from crucifixion. Acts 2:22“Fellow Israelites, listen to this: Jesus of Nazareth was a man accredited by God to you by miracles, wonders and signs, which God did among you through him, as you yourselves know. Genesis 1:1, “In the beginning [Elohim] created the heavens and the earth.” In fact the word appears some 2,750 times in the Old Testament. The term "Elohim" means “supreme one” or “mighty one.” Arabic (“Allah”), Aramaic (“elah”), and Hebrew (“Elohim) written in a Hebrew script seemingly confirms that these are in fact the exact same word. islam only supports Jesus is prophet one true God ,Elohim , Allah
Good this should be india but with some high speed
Islamists are quick and easy to anger. they do not belong in the west but yet still find themselves here? how cringe
2:37 , what they sang ?
Someone claimed that they (possibly German students) were singing their national song to our English soldier. Disgraceful if true.
@@deejohn1659 actually , I think they are Dutch's student but I don't recognize the song . Edit: It's Dutch National Anthem
@lunna306 Yes you're probably right. I also heard someone else say that they sound Dutch.
Definitely not German students. Sounds Dutch for me as well.
Gente irrespetuosa
I am bitterly disappointed. I can’t find that delightful love struck couple again. I tried to move to the beginning to see the romantic part when the guard spoke to her but instead got something about dogs!
Rose-Marie, Lovestruck couple??? Are you thinking of a different video? Not sure about that.

Being in London is a great advantage from UA-cam perspective there is always something to film !
Ian, Very true. There's so much to see and do. I think it was Cornwall youtuber Wendell who said once, 'Oh well I think Iv'e filmed everything down here in West Cornwall' and then chose to move on. That worried me a bit. I didn't even think he had covered everywhere. But imagine giving up on London with it's history, art and culture.
That Sax was amazing wow!!
Jamnoise, My heart almost stopped when I heard Grover Washington music on the Bridge. I thought, get that camera out quick. It reminded me of my several trips to New York where street musicians are more prominent, especially soulful jazzy sounds. But boy, wasn't the guy struggling for breath as he closed out. Amazing
@deejohn1659 Fantastic vibes hon!! Yeah, st the end, he had to really go for it, brilliant!
5:57 So cute!!!!
I didn't realize this phone box attracted long lines of people waiting to have their pictures taken next to it...on a daily basis. In fact John from London City Walks channel starts his daily walk to Horse Guards from this very spot. His huge followers love his daily wit and banter. Americans and Canadians can't start their breakfast without him. I think he's tapped into something, replacing a morning Radio show perhaps.
I've learnt something new today! This is making me want to go to London 😊@@deejohn1659
0:23 My Alexa agrees with this message!! ;)
Jamnoise, Haha! Alexa is on the right track. But of course I had to conceal my contempt for this place and the very institution otherwise I'd have endangered getting this video up.

I always fund Camden an interesting plsce, there's never a dull moment there. It's always nicer for a change from sll the usual parts of London that are most visited. I used to live in London at one ttime!
Yes, it does seem as if the whole of London gathers into Camden Town at weekends. The crowds, the noise and the atmosphere of the place is what always attracts me there.

Thanks Joe. So Glad you found it....Dee.

@@deejohn1659 do these vendors who operate on Westminster bridge have to meet certain health standards are they regulated by the city of London .
@@garygarrison4336 Well officially they're supposed to apply to Westminster Council to operate a public food stall in this area. But who's to know if they're legitimate. Some bracket the food sellers along with the other Bridge scammers. Dedy, The Mount Vernon building can be seen at 8:40 on the video. Unfortunately on the day I passed there it was buried in scaffolding.
