I haven't been to Sham Tseng, but It's usually possible to find dog friendly accommodation in most cities, I've never tried with 5 dogs though. I know some places charge a small extra fee for pets, I guess to cover themselves incase they make a mess. Are you thinking of travelling with your pets?

@middlekingdomproductions Since the cost of living in China is cheap but not low quality, I think I should consider moving over there! My only concern is whether the locals are dog friendly! I know in Canada, each household is only allowed to have a certain number (2?) of dogs!

Yeah the cost of living is cheap and good. I think every city and community probably has different regulations about how many dogs. I think it might be one or two in Nanjing but I’ve seen people with many more and some Chinese rescuers have 20-30 or more so sometimes the rules are flexible. If you know which city you’d like to live in I could find out more. There are a lot of dogs and pet owners here. Some communities are less dog friendly than others but most are alright as long as you keep them on a lead in the public areas etc ( even so, many people don’t use a lead ). There are also people afraid of dogs or who dislike them and they will generally keep a distance. I think it’s ok as long as you are careful and choose a more dog friendly city.

@@middlekingdomproductions it's just that I don't feel Japan has a global presence any longer, maybe because they've been occupied by the United States since the Second World War( at least 7 military US bases that we know of) . Maybe they're happy to be the compliant quaint little country in the Asia region.

This is in the city centre of a city of almost 10 million people , in a busy area, it won’t be abandoned. I think the kind of projects you are talking about would be out of town or in areas where the company predicts a housing boom perhaps, but misjudge it and it doesn’t happen, or whatever other reasons there may be for the projects not being completed, I don’t know much about that stuff to be honest 😁 China has such a big diverse population over such a large area it’s hard to comprehend the scale of development here so I guess that in itself would lead to some projects being abandoned.

If by backwards you mean an incredible renovated and re-developed 100 year old railway station ( one of the first in China ) with the old communities around it. A historic and interesting area with people happily celebrating the Chinese new year.

It is very cool, I lived next door to this theatre for many years and it never got boring! I may film some of these places again in the future as I filmed them a year or more ago and I think I can do a better job now :)
