Giving an update what we like and don't like about our 2024 Grand Highlander Hybrid XLE Link to the hitch that I show in the video: www.etrailer.com/hitch-2024_Toyota_Grand Highlander.htm

Went with the MBRP 3-inch XP Series Muffler Bypass (item# S125859). Kept flapper valve and resonators installed.
Recently got the 2025 Grand Highlander platinum and it’s a great vehicle
@@anthonyalgarin974 Enjoy!
Please set your cruise control at 70 instead of 80
Don’t know if anyone commented this but you should have received the valet key for the second key when you bought the car. When I bought my Venza they provided one full key and then a valet key for the second key fob when it came in.
@@lanelipkin6399 Thanks!
I got 10,000 on my max grand hylander
@@venessahoffman7989 right on! Hope you've enjoyed it!
Hi, what is the color of your car? Wind chill pearl or coastal cream. Thanks
@@arielabella7116 It's wind chill pearl. Thanks!
Is the car powerful enough, especially on the highway? I'm worried that when overtaking, it won't have enough power to overtake, especially when all the passengers are in their seats... Thanks.
@@dmitrizincenko It's powerful enough for us. If you need additional power then consider the Hybrid Max.
Did you have the AWD? Thanks for the review.
@@ClippingWisdom yes, it's an AWD
Website states theres no moonroof on the XLE hybrid trim. Did you pay extra for it ?
@@mohammedfaizuddin9941 In the US, the moonroof is a $1,350 option on the hybrid XLE trim.
Why is it so hard to get a highlander anyone know Thanks
@@Holyheart1 Good question. I think because of the side curtain airbag recall. It's my understanding that Toyota had placed a moratorium on selling any more until it was resolved.
What MPG have you gotten from the SUV? Thx.
@@decaview99 Generally get between 33-36mpg.
That paint looks nice with XLE wheels
@@afzalshaikh2128 thank you! Merry Christmas!
@@Nealman24 Make another follow up
are there any rattles/noises from the dash and center console area?
@@armannasr3681 Not that I've noticed.
It's officially a large midsize SUV for any wondering.
My tundra with 32 gal tank, I can’t get 26 gallons on empty, I wonder if there is still 6 gallons left?
Finally I found someone who gives an honest review without trying to sell the car.
I may have missed it, but that extra key is in your owners manual. Use that when your battery dies and you’re stuck in the middle of the woods. 😂
Im planning to get this in 2 years but my wife wants a truck but she will have to deal with it lol
I think it still has two gallons left even if it says 0 miles left.
How difficult is it to park the car when you find a space in the mall or supermarket? Do you need the 360 panoramic view?
@@gundamburst It's easy to park, good turning radius.
Toyota quality control went out the windows ever since they open plant in North America, Hiring American CEO ,They taken shortcut to earn more profit, shame
Toyota Honda and Ford have all had major recalls. This is nothing recent. I love my Ford, but it had a major recall and so did my jeep and so did my Toyota and I’m 50 this is nothing new. Japan’s qualities dropping also as someone that travels to Japan every year and live there for 11 years. They’re running out of people the new Land Cruiser does not seem to be built better than any other Toyota matter fact it has major quality issues fitment issues. As for vehicles may Mexico I don’t know. I’m an idiot on that topic
Good video almost 11k on our G Highlander No strut issue but i had a 2021 Highlander XSE had that issue.
@@MrKl1978 Thanks!
thanks for the update! maybe something to consider though not to show your address in your video
I have a 2015 sienna se and 2024 grandhighlander xle !! I like the v6 better but grandhighlander is much softer ride
Which color do you have ?
@@umarvakil The color is windchill pearl
@@Nealman24 thank you
Dislike new toyota oddities. Fuel saving ?
Can you mention the power if it is lacking or more tha enough power to merge a highway. Thanks
@@sanotyobe I feel it's slightly underpowered but not to the extent that it bothers me. The gas mileage more than makes up for the lack of power.
Hmm, sounds fishy about the fuel tank not getting even close to 17 gallons. Don’t dismiss this, I’ve read someone say Toyota designed it to purposely show 0 but it has 3 gallons in the tank, B.S.!! I hope no one believes. Do a search on RAV4 hybrids having the same issue in 2020-2022 models. There was a class action lawsuit and I believe Toyota reached a settlement on this. Look it up.
good luck with the 88+ recalls lol
@@leonardovincent3606 88?
@@Nealman24 Yep lots of recalls
@@leonardovincent3606 I think you're confused. There's 1 main recall for side curtain airbags.
Fixed my recall. 6,000 miles on 6 months. No issue so far. Same Trim.

@@ACAC-lb7ux Sorry, didn't know there was difference in pronunciation 😘
@@Nealman24 I didn't mean any harm I know I couldn't do it as good as you though bro blessings always
Thanks for the video of actual ownership views. Toyota builds in that 3 gallon leeway so you can travel extra miles to a gas station on their "reputation" Driving our second Camry hybrid and love it. Looking to purchase a 25 Grand Highlander when they are released.
@@robertcummings6291 Thanks, enjoy your new GH!
What's 0-60 and 60-80 (or 90) times? I'm looking at the GH eCVT hybrid but I'm worried about merging and passing on the highway (our speed limits are 70-80 mph down here in Texas). I currently have a 2015 Acadia and it does 0-60 in 8.2 which is adequate but it has more horsepower than the GH eCVT hybrid does.
@@LUSkyhawk Then you should consider the GH Hybrid Max, it has a 0-60 of 5.2 seconds.
@@Nealman24 Yeah I know it's super fast but I'm partial to the better gas mileage of the eCVT. It's just hard to find acceleration tests of the eCVT GH.
I have had 0 problems with merging I use it in sport when I think I need more response works great and I average around 40mpg I live 45 miles from my work.

if you have roof on it you not gonna like it my 2024 grand highlander roof liking on the first month
Looks good. I did the 2 tone color on mine, just like the rav4 prime and added black decals to the GRAND HIGHLADER at the back.
Hey buddy, can you show us if it’s possible for someone to access the 3rd row with that car seat in place? You know what I mean? Pretend you have 3 forward facing car seats on that 2nd row, how’d ya access the 3rd without getting them off? Can you hop into the car by just sliding the seat all the way forward before placing the child in the seat??? Thanks in advance 🥰🙏
@@sw6155 It's possible. We normally have my 4yr old's booster seat in the 2nd row and you're still able to slide the seat forward about 2/3 the way. Enough room for my older kids to access the 3rd row. Thanks!
Hi, thanks for the follow-up review. How does it overtake on highway speeds? Do u experience any lack of power that it’s a naturally aspirated 2.5 litre with eCVT? Also, Toyota has removed moon roof from XLE trim, do u feel it’s dark inside?
@@luqmankhb It is a bit sluggish but it doesn't bother me because we bought it for the MPG. If you put it in "Sport" mode then it's better. Our XLE has the moonroof, you can see it in my 10,000 mile update. Thanks!
Alex on autos says it’s 0 to 60 in 7.5 sec. Why it should be sluggish if this is true?
I had a 2014 Honda pilot with a V6. I now have the grand Highlander with the 4 t engine comparing the two the grand Highlander is faster in every way I have no issues with overtaking vehicles. I drive a sports car, I like a car that’s peppy, this turbo engine is very peppy. I’ve never been in a V6 that’s peppy if that makes sense. V6 power come on late in most cars I’ve driven. But that said on paper a turbo engine looks better higher torque at lower RPM. That’s where the happiness comes in while the horsepower is a bit lower. I compare the non-turbo guys to the iPhone guys only they notice this so-called lack of power while the rest of us, enjoy a much better driving car which happens to have a turbo
As someone that’s driven turbo my entire life due to my 11 years in Japan. Every turbo car has an RPM range where accessing all this twerk torque is instantaneous after a year your foot learns where this is turbo are where it’s at more power, lighter more efficient, and I love the swoshee sound.
My hybrid max platinum goes faster and at times 0 to 60 is in less than 6 seconds
The second Valet key should be in the glove box with the owners manual
@@rya-zq7ky Thanks, will have to check!
You must drive a lot. 30,000 miles in one year. Time to trade it for another one. How long do you normally keep a car putting that many miles a year?
@@Tundra-pw2cu We likely won't always put 30k miles on it each year. We got it to drive it though and my hope would be to get at least 250k out of the car or about 10 years.
Must be realy bad roads in your area full of holes
Thanks for the update... Hard to find any long term reviews since most of GH are new and its a risky blind situation with the 1yr model. Ordered mine in February and was supposed to get it late july or early August but unfortunately stop sale/ production happened 🤦. Well the wait is still on....
@@konvict072 Sorry to hear that! Hopeful soon though. I agree with you, it is risky with it being a 1st year model.
What is the production stop due to?
@@readymeI heard it was something related to an airbag issue. Something about it not deploying properly if the window is down. Affected both grand highlander and Lexus tx models. Once they find the fix, sales should resume.
@@readyme I believe it's due to side curtain airbags not functioning properly when the windows are down.
Yes thanks I'm with my max grand hybrid loving all the time. My only complaint is the overhead drivers lighting. I have a tacoma truck with easy push lights. This grand highlander is dark amd have to look for the button to push on a map reader light is not good. Buy I love the grand highlander hybrid max
Experienced fuel mpg. I know personal driving habits affect that that still nice to know.
@@wayneparsons66 We average 36 mpg. I speak to that in my first video (10,000 mile update) if you want to check that one out!
@@Nealman24Have you taken any long highway trips? If so, what mpg do u get while doing 70mph +?
@@ATAKER66 Yes, we've taken several long trips including one from VA to New Orleans where we averaged about 33mpg. We were loaded down too. Hope this helps!
What trim was the Highlander that you were comparing to since wheel size on different trims affect ride quality.
@@ratukamina It was an XLE. I believe same wheel size as our GH.

You can actually pretty easily change default sound system speakers in the front with alternative ones and get much better sound for cheap, I did that in my 2021 rav4. Total cost was like 200$ for new Blam KIT 165ES speakers for front doors and for the front panel by the windshield.
