They're definitely deterred by it, but if they had an incentive to crawl across it, like some lettuce I'm not so sure this would stop them.

Brilliant! I’ve managed to get rid of my slugs with nematodes, but the larger snails are still munching down. I have a bunch of raw wool which I’ll scatter around their favourite snacks

The slugs still pass over.

Does that wool only work when dry?

They work well for me and, for the first time, I can grow lettuces in my gardrn.

petroleum jelly / vaseline can be used as a barrier slugs snails will not cross , especially useful on the horizontal sides of pots / containers

I found your Video via your website. Thank you very much for all the effort you have made, which has saved me a lot of time to experiment. I have a million snails in my small garden, because it is very unfavorable on three sides, where the beasts can hide there very well. Last night I collected about 400 snails from my young onions again. Most of them are baby snales, which are also difficult to spot. So far I've just cut them up on the spot, thanks to them I now know that this only attracts more snails What really helped last year are these lettuce collars and so I have now bought a snail fence and have to put it up now. I will also try the above tip so I can catch the pies that are then inside the fence. And I will try the mint tip. Your videos and your website are extremely well done. They explain exactly what works, what doesn't really work and what helps. Thank you very much. I will update on how this traps above works. I mulch my garden with wood chips, which, if I understood correctly, would attract predators. On the other hand, it is a great hiding place for the beasts. Twice I saw a slug that looked translucent that came out on other side of tape. Were these under the plate?

I crushed eggshells with a pestle and mortar. They have to be almost powder. I put them around newly planted lettuce seedlings and the slugs stayed away. I had cabbages that got destroyed and that’s what made me try the egg shells. Also you have to wash the eggshells then dry them out before crushing. I’ll be using them for my cabbage next spring!

if you have light slug damage on plants i put a small sprinkle of wood ash at the base of each plant it really seems to work good at keeping them away and its free and organic!

Seems to me that the slugs are going right over it. Does not appear to work well.

Is this just because the leaves are dry and there's nothing tempting on the other side? The slug top right at 1.50 does not seem overly bothered by it at all.
