The Japanese “Ichiju Sansai” meal style offers all essential nutrients for fat loss, creating a manageable calorie deficit without feeling starved. As a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage, it highlights the benefits of a diverse, nutrient-rich diet.
Here’s how to balance nutrition:
1. Carbohydrates: 200-230g/day (rice or bread).
2. Soup: Add vegetable, mushroom, or seaweed soups.
3. Protein: 100g daily (e.g., chicken, salmon) with 40g of fat.
4. Vegetables: 300g + 20-30g of seaweed.

    Healthy snacks that are good: Prepared cooked sweet potato Cut up honeydew melon/cantalope Pumpkin seeds/almonds/ walnuts Dried seaweed (high in b12) Berries can serve with unsweetened yogurt and top with honey and hemp seeds (can find at Trader Joe’s and Costco) Smoothie made of coconut milk or yogurt, berries, 1-2 handfuls of leafy baby greens, hemp seeds, honey I also love to just have cold brew or iced americano, can add milk or no milk. This may be considered a meal or can be a snack in between meals but white rice with sardines and a bit of soy sauce is very good and quick if you have prepared rice.

    Let’s say the egg is 75 calories and she used 20 calories worth of noodles, cucumbers chopped veggies and the kimchi. Thats a 95~100 calorie meal 👀 bro…. IM ABOUT TO COOK THIS RIGHT NOW!!!!

    Can I ask how long you keep your steamed sweet potatoes in the fridge? After I saw your video I got super enthusiastic about a rice cooker and bought one, haha, because I have major issues eating properly. The second 'recipe' I made was steamed sweet potato (because I saw you do it and I love sweet potatoes but hardly ever make them), which I then let cool off and wrapped them like I saw you do in the video and put them in the fridge. Now I realized it would be wise for me to check for how long they can be refrigerated and people tend to say for maximum 2 days. But since you say you make a lot of them at once I can't imagine they only last for 2 days with you. Do they? I made them yesterday morning (Tuesday morning for me) and was hoping to use the remaining ones for lunch on Friday and Saturday, which would make 4 days. Or should I make them every other day? Do you? I hope you can help, if you have time:) Thank you so much for this video by the way, my eating habits have already changed a lot in only a week time (I ordered the rice cooker last week). Funny though, I was looking at some matcha videos last week and bought some, and apparently UA-cam was like 'oh look, I have more videos for you on Japanese habits!' Haha. I was happy UA-cam thought so! Oh and by the way, in the video you mention a pdf with rice cooker recipes. I can't seem to find it.
