I don't think it's really justifiable just because of Trump, when Harris herself did say she would shoot an irregular immigrant if he broke into her house, didn't she? Plus she did say she would arrest them, from what I have heard. So how is that better than deporting someone? The vast majority of people are just being obtuse or attention whoring. It's just sad that after all this time people still get manipulated so easily by mainstream media. And the people offing themselves or wanting to just because of the election result, are hugely overreacting and need to get out of their bubble.

@@Bradshaw_Staudt Games did come out bugged as well back then but it was way more rare, especially with game breaking bugs. Games were also less complex to make. Although complex doesn't equate to being better. Big teams and huge budgets are more detrimental than anything. Passion and creativity are the top qualities to have when making a game.

There hasn't been enough generational turn over I think. Plus most games now have parts that get outsourced to india or china and we've all seen the results. Even supposed triple A games like re4 remake are full of bugs.

@@nader91 I did watch that video I think and agreed on a lot of things. Also it is not just devs getting older but us people who enjoyed those games too. We're a dying breed.

@@Jonathan-Shadow it seems fun from the footage. My main problem with it is having to rebuy everything at full price. Plus the boost stuff has run its course at this point for me, but I will play it eventually.

@@Dami19XX Nah the controls are way tighter. L1 and R1 does a zig zag motion now as well. Even the 2d sections of shadows campaign are amazing. It’s just too short. The level design is really good (even though they had amazing blueprints with the previous games).

@ Yep! You need to play it. Even the boss I just played is actually way more detailed than its original idea. Even the challenges aren’t complete nonsense like in generations.

A remaster should be the same game with some bells and whistles added. The problem is that today they can't even help themselves and have to fuck up things that someone else did before. New games are too expensive to make and risky, so those are a no go as well.

It's really frustrating when people pretends to love or understand something, but you know they don't: your point about DR bein' misunderstood basically since the very first game is so true, and it'd deserve a whole analysis. But the best thing about Crowbcat's video, and you can already see it happen in his comment section, is the amount of younger gamers saying "I didn't know the original was so cool! It makes me wanna play THAT one".

It is pretty undeniable when it is so obvious. At least some people will realize that just because something is old, it doesn't mean it is obsolete.

@@ricochet8104 even with all the shit the 7th gen gave us, it also had its fair share of new memorable franchises. The modern brown/grey military shooter aesthetic at least was just a dull stylistic choice, rather than the result of incompetence or malicious propaganda. I agree with 6th being way better. 7th there was already a quite evident decline starting to settle in.

This game is definitely one that is easy to confuse for something else, given it is a mish mash of various other titles.

@@Dami19XX I played it on pcsx2 for roughly 90 minutes and honestly i couldn't bother to keep playing it. there was nothing, gameplay- and story-wise, that hooked me in.

The sweet baby logo is on the thumbnail as a way to indicate censorship in general. Sega has been trying to cover up Rouge for a while (and they do also work with sweet baby) but this time it was pretty egregious, even covering up her back and making her wings clip through her dress.

@joaquindiaz3621 They went out of their way to change it compared to how it was in the original release of the game. If that is not a form of censorship I don't know what it is then.

A remaster should just be a straight up port with better performance, better resolution and some quality of life changes. Everything else is usually a bad sign.

@@Dami19XX thats a really good point. They are the ones that cared first by making the change. I think in any argument, using "its insignifigant so don't care" is usually bad faith.

Haven't played SH2make or the Aitd reboot yet but the Re remakes are ok games but bad remakes.

I personally think re4 should have been retconned. Anyway the remake was alright as a game, but it had too many issues. I would have liked it more and excused ita flaws if it were a different game.

I have yet to try cold fear. Do you suggest it? I always get it mixed up with deep fear lol.

@@SCH292 yep I mentioned the crosshair too but not the bullet sponge, even though that is true. It is like most people are regressing, both in the audience and in the industry, so they can only make or enjoy games if made in a certain way. At this point I have come to hate the white crosshair with bloom and aim sway whenever I see them.

​@@Dami19XX The Crosshair system is best suited when you're playing COD or some sort of first person shooting game or even something like GTA series. Now for RE games..I mean it "does work too"..ONLY up too a certain point but when you toss in bullet sponge system, start pushing the spawn/swarm a lot of enemies, turn the game into something like RE4 Remake, the mechanic that RE7, RE2 Remake, RE 3 Remake and RE 8 has...ehh..it start to become...the followings... 1. Dull. 2. Repulsive. 3. Repetitive.

I want my bullets to go where I aim lol. Capcom is definitely among the worst in this sense, same with bullest sponges. They even forgot how to balance the highest difficulties in Re by now.

Good sum up of everything relevant to this topic. I personally think this is just a fad and will eventually fizzle out, especially when a new generation that might like different things get in the hobby. It will take some more years, but it will for the most part. However If publishers don't change their tune when it comes to their expectations, I don't know if things will ever get better in terms of having more varied games.

The erasure in particular is the most evil and insidious part of all of this I can and generally do ignore most remakes that defile the original but when they are used to usurp faithful ports in an already dire situation of lack of preservation it's unforgivable.

@@GodOfOrphans not having proper updated versions of your most famous legacy games out there is not only short sighted but, also deceptive in a way because you're actively replacing your legacy with some other new shiny object, that has barely anything to do with the original work.

@@GodOfOrphans they did release original RE2 on GOG recently, which is updated to run on windows 11 and modern gpus, so it's at least something, talking preservation-wise, but the kind of port akin to RE1 2015, with restored or updated textures, restored booth-quality audio, updated alternative control scheme, that's at this point doomed to never happen.
