The scene is so violent that I feel like it doesn’t match with the song. Arthur’s death was peaceful, unlike John’s… I was more sad because it made me think of Arthur than because it matches with the scene

idk why but that one part in "my way" by frank Sinatra honestly would go well with when he opens the gates and gets killed

this ending is still amazing to this day, john taking all those bullets to the most critical spots of his body, yet standing and barely breathing for a good 30 seconds

i think i prefer just john standing there, coughing, and taking it in silence, with the thoughts of his regrets thru his head. this is good and all, but it deserves an arthur ending, not a john ending.

RDR 1 ending is meant to be depressing as it should be adding music is nice but doesn't fit imo

the silence in this scene is so much more impactful than putting a sad song over Johns heavy breathing after getting shot 50 times. i love that idea bc i love those games and song, but i would have put it on some other time in the game.

Honestly, I kinda like the original having no music since it adds to the sudden/unexpected feeling

I just realized something sad, Arthur said goodbye to little Jack when he was on a horse with Tilly. And he also said goodbye to Abigail while on a horse with Sadie. John said goodbye to Jack and Abigail, while they were both on a horse. I may be reaching but Rockstar has some great connections and foreshadowing to their games

I feel like marston wanted to go out like Arthur, like he wanted to force it. He could’ve ran, waited till agents retired and forgot, sure, might’ve endangered people, but he could protect people well, that’s why his death is silent, sure, it’s honourable, but it isn’t Arthur. And it never will be, which adds so much weight.

Kinda ruins it, ngl. Sorry, but I just genuinely don't think "That's the way it is" fits at all. The silence of the scene elevates it way more imo. Though I do like how you used the OST version of the song, lol. So many people only acknowledge the ingame version of the song uploaded on youtube by "PeopleCanFly23," and not the superior, true OST version.

This story is the saddest of all history of games , I hope devs make it a beautifull ending with rdr3

Nice!!! It's so sad that John couldn't fulfil Arthur's dying wishes of being away from the outlaw life and living a clean livelihood. The story of RDR series is so good!
