Tommy the legend!! RIP mate!
Were you on a cruise in the Caribbean when you uploaded this
Obviously, the journalists voting on this realised they were supposed to hate Manly.
I wouldn’t play for my club (Narrabeen) unless they gave me Number 9, Mr Randells number, he was a inspiration to me and I couldn’t wait till the weekend to watch him play. Best second rower to pull on the Sea Eagles jumper. I still have two of those Narrabeen numbers nines 46 years later.
Get that up you Rex 😂😂
Back when players were real people.
Tommy was a grub. Especially on the drink.
Controversy corner, ah, take me back, with real league jurnos that knew the game, asked informative questions, and could take it on the chin if it was served back to them. Thanks for the memories
@@jimmartin9704 perfect summary
Great days
Awful grounds & poor defence
More Brian Lockwood, Neil Pringle footage would be great. Cheers for posting.
@@skinnydipper3493 I will have a look on the weekend. Here is this link for you atm, ua-cam.com/video/AlBvM8KA-5Y/v-deo.htmlsi=0RfB35Fz6QaI-Uvy
It's All manly we're they the grubbiest at the time Or something is it always in their DNA
😂 😂 at least he was honest. I remember both Tommy and Rex well having grown up in the 1970s. Wonderful memories
Ha ha ha u forgot to mention Won Casey!!!!!!!
Those Ears! Rugby or Wrestling to be sure!
Back then as a Parra supporter I thought Terry was one of the top forwards in the game, what a great tackler he was
Love how Rex is saying 80’s footy has gone a bit soft compared to 70’s… 80’s is so tough compared to todays footy lol
two real men - they were the days
V funny 🤣
REMEMBER WON CASEY.
The Moose wasn't a commentator for nothing. Disgusting how Fatty and Sterling treated him and Mario at the Footy Show. On the field Mario and the Rex would have demolished Paul Vautin.
Fenech played against Vautin and didn't 'demolish' him.
@@user-tx1dp6wj7p that's because, as good a player as he was, Fatty wouldn't go near him. Never as hard as Mario
Any relation to Chris Randall of the Gold Coast Titans?
@@robertcain3426 don't believe so
So true. Bennet in that mold. Doesn’t waffle on or whinge like some others
Comical
Oh my ,poor ears😢
Neil Baker. Never heard him interviewed before.
@@bashuppark and he still looks that good I have been told.
The irony of it was Souths only won 8 - 6 according to The RL Project. I thought Souths must have flogged them judging by Rex and Neil’s tone.
Ian Roberts scared them all, they didn’t want the ball!!
#goroosters 😅🤣😂
One of toughest footballer's to hit our footy feild
Two great players on show here who are largely forgotten. Geoff Starling was a brilliant young Balmain centre who had his career cut short with illness. The other was Wests second rower John Elford, one of the most devastating tacklers to have played the game. He suffered a series of broken arms over the next two seasons from which he never fully recovered.
@@user-xe6wk2ys3f agree 100%
That's just pure professional class. I was not a Manly fan back in the day, but what a great response. Well done terry.
Funny how all the names come flooding back! The Moose might have been a bit of a redneck but his commentary is a classic ‘Price gives it selectively to Glover’ - don’t you know normally who you are passing to?!?
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 f U Rex!! Loved both these blokes. Proper men.
So basically, Tommy was a wanker
Na mate, you are for that comment!
BRING BACK THE BIFF. I say from the comfort of my couch.
Rex, what an egotistical dick
Gone are the days of very tough but very humble people. What a great interchange between two real men.
Rex was an arrogant boof head back in the day and would be so today. He died of hits to the head, CTE.
Where's Greg Inglis hit on Dean Young
Like it. I preferred it when the players had to work for a living like the rest of us and said it how it is and fans could relate to them because they were still one of us. And bring back proper scrums. What we have now is embarrassing. Players over paid over pampered and too much social media platforms
Go and watch some local games. The skill and speed isn't as high but they are willing. No video ref either so the game flows better, not much whinging and no laying down for a penalty
A real player and a good bloke. Most players these days are pansies with "followers"... pathetic 😅
I agree.
@@patkelly6349 who wins the title, what's your team?
@@glensmillie5101 I not know anything about rugby. 🏉. Sorry but I admire these hard men
I'm usually a one 👁️ eyed biast South Sydney Rabbitoh supporter but my smokie for this season is the nrth Qld cowgirls in both rugby league teams @@glensmillie5101
.....and how many NRL games have you played?
I’m wasn’t a big Tommy fan but I am now. Couldn’t stand Canterbury
When the league was a real game, not the laugh it is today
Rex knew his stuff too!
Interviews just aren't the same anymore. All the players say the same stuff. These old videos are gold.
Too woke corporate now.
@@user-tx1dp6wj7p Pride jumpers.
I remember Tommy breaking his thumb, seeing it strapped here. During the match he just walked near the sideline and pushed it back into place and then kept playing. Must’ve needed treatment later it would seem.
Very irritating music marred an otherwise excellent vid
😂😂😂😂😂 Classic!
Were these like 'hits of the year' or something?
3:07 Yep forward
I first met John Gray as a young child, when I saw him practicing his goal kicking one evening at Manly Oval. That was before he became known as a first grade Rugby League player in Australia. It was the first time I had seen a goal kicker place the ball vertically and he was landing goals from all angles. I asked him why he kicks in that way, and he simply replied that it was the method he grew up with. I think he was referring to his days back in England. He was a nice bloke to give a young primary school kid like me, the time of day.
@@CamperKev it's stories/memories like this that need to be shared. Thanks
