Two immediate things I saw. 1. A rapid and constant introduction of oxygen. 2. The thermal layers were crazy. Once two or three ventilation holes are opened then the heat will greatly decrease. But as long as oxygen is being introduced the fire will continue to grow. I’d go with foam in this fire.
lololo. crazy. surprised to see this. SJFD generally wont go inside to put the fire out. they like the " hit er hard from the yard " approach. bet they was poopin their panties going in a rippin commercial.
Seems like this one was a "loser" from the get-go. The crews did a good job; they started offensive but knew they were probably going to eventually go defensive. They advanced about 30 feet in, were met with a volume of fire beyond handling capability, kept their egress right behind them, and evacuated everyone quickly when command called for it. There isn't a building on the planet worth the life of one firefighter. Any firefighter.
All sorts of petrochemicals sitting in one of those, good try to catch it. That fuel gave a nice hot fire, so once the chimney effect got started things were pretty much done, really needed the big hand hoses considering the fuel load. If that structure had a dome truss, calling the shift was perfectly justified.
Music is not necessary IMO. But at least it isn't techno like most videos on UA-cam that add music. Mmm-cha mmm-cha mmm-cha mmm-cha mmm-cha mmm-cha mmm-cha.
The flow path of all the air fueling this fire is being sucked in at the top, where you see the smoke being pulled back from the exterior of the building, back towards the fire. There was no stopping that fire. Good call pulling them out.
Not as far as I know, in fact that design of roof is very dangerous, considering what happened at the Brooklyn waldbaums, and also the Hackensack Ford fire, and maybe one or two other locations I would have to read up on what the other ones were.
Wish people who insisted on putting music in helmet cam vids would upload a version without it - so those who don't like it can hear the audio (and/or radio feed), and those who enjoy the music can still enjoy a version with the music.
I guess the sprinkler system wasnt working properly in this home depot. I like how blue card says we are pretty much just overhaulers for these type of fires. Has anybody heard any back story on this fire and any post incident analysis?
It was Arson. They believe suspect set a fire intending for it to distract workers so he could shoplift. Unfortunately it got out of control. I'd love to know why the in building fire suppression didn't work as well.
WTF This is a protected building ! Also the systems are properly engineered! And usually maintained ,especially in California !What went wrong with the sprinkler system guys ! Trust me guys I know how things can go bad, I witnessed #1 Meridian in Philadelphia anything is possible.
From what I've discovered elsewhere in this comment section, apparently the sprinkler system was disabled for some reason why and by whom I don't know.
was the music really necessary?
Would've gotten a thumbs up except for the music. I want to hear the comms.
Crusty Foo Fighters wasn’t what I expected when I clicked in this video at first.

I thought the music volume was fine.
Tyler youre a dipshit for the music and i like that song.
Cut off the damn music this isn't a circus

This is basically an unofficial music video at this point and it F#<king sucks.
GET YOU SOME!!!!!
Wish that was longer awesome video man

I stopped watching when the music started. 😂😂
remove the music!
Haven’t seen any ff video of this fire yet, thank you for uploading!
Good to see CCOC alum active in the community 💪
As a volly, music on top of the audio drastically reduces the educational value of this clip.

Could you please do a re-upload without the music?
This goes to show you how useless sprinkler systems are !!!
Great interior view and ride along.............but the music ( any type or genre ) blows. Would love to see more, but lose the music.
Bro this is the craziest video I’ve ever seen. Coolest job ever.
my chilf hood home dept😞
Rad video, cool to see the fire behavior and insane flow path. What camera and helmet mount do you use? solid quality
Good video but the music was a hudge overkill.

I've never noticed but was curious are home Depot roofs bow string truss ??

Our supply chain is being systematically destroyed as is our air ,water and planet.
"Look at me" music claims another possibly good video.
Oh no-it's right at the entrance/exit location.
seriously WTF MOT EVERYTHING NEEDS FREAKING MUSIC
🖕Gogue

What a wild interior attack

@@klystron22the sprinkler system was disabled at the time of this fire, why and by whom I don't know.

Good video! Wish there was more! 🌊🌊🔥🌊
Look at that in flow.
Cut the damn music
Hell of a video
so Im guessing the management didn't keep up on the physical fitness of their Sprinkler system? Or maybe their fire prevention is in deep doo doo.
Excellent editing 👌
I was about to give you the "thumbs up"...then the music started. Why you do that?
great bad music
Musics gotta go. Its so loud and makes no sense being here
Are there any additional hazards with there being high quantities of fertilizer?
Great video, pity about the music!! Really no need for it!
There was so much oxygen fueling that interior fire. Awesome work, all firefighters and dispatch did an excellent job. 👏🏼
What helmet cam you using? Seems like really good video quality.
