A Walk Around Genoa, Italy

Our month-long road trip around Italy has begun! This was one of our travel days, passing through a few places en route to our next stay. We started in Milan and spent most of the day walking around Genoa before heading over to Portofino in the afternoon. While we always wish we had more time, we are so grateful we had the chance to see a taste of these amazing destinations!

@@importedmusic agreed! But this deal for 40,000 Chase points a person was too good to pass up. Would never pay out of pocket for it though
@@thisismayberry i actually went back and had another look at the prices again. £10,000 one way from UK to the states booking 6 months in advance as well. I normally fly business class around the world and wouldn't pay more than 2k for a one way ticket long haul. I just can't see how they can compete, fair enough if you're paying with points though. Same goes for BA.

How long would you say should I allow for the Duomo visit including the rooftop?
I would plan between 2 - 3 hours for the Duomo with the rooftops. It really is a great experience - I hope you enjoy it!

Consider that Milan was heavily bombed in 2 ww and most of the city had been completely rebuilt..even all sites you showed

I'm really enjoying your travels. I'm particularly a fan that you're doing your own thing, rather than paying attention to all the instagram influencers. Regrettably, when you do that, you end up enjoying someone else's holiday rather than your own. Well done. Can't wait for the next chapter. By the way, it proves you don't have to go to Cinque Terre. That fishing village is so similar to Riomaggiore that I had to do a double take.

The old port looked like such an interesting spot to walk through. Love seeing the architecture. The food looks so good in Italy. I liked seeing all the different spots you showed us in the video.

@@thisismayberry you see, we appreciate that Italian-Americans are proud of their roots, but you said it yourself: you don't have the culture, you don't have the passport, you don't even speak the language. There is a huge difference between "I am an American of Italian heritage" and "I am Italian".

Unfortunately the galleries did not open until 10am so it was closed while we were there. But, it gives us a reason to go back again 🙂
Neither they went to the prettiest sights in Milan: places like San Maurizio al Monastero Maggiore, the Garegnano Certosa, the Santa Maria presso San Satiro church, the Casa Museo Boschi Di Stefano, Villa Necchi Campiglio, the majestic Gallerie d'Italia, etc.
