Hey man, that is excellent advice for shooting a video. I never film vertically. Do you recommend this advice while shooting photos as well?

1:18 I just got one pocket 3 last Saturday. This was the whole reason behind it. Setup just takes too much time. Specially if you don't have a dedicated space where you can leave some things always there.

I purchased this camera over a year ago fir the sake of it being my talking head UA-cam camera, in studio. I shoot on Blackmagic which not only doesn't;t have AF but is a production to set up. I wanted the Pocket 3 for the ease of recording. I do manual mode and typically use natural light from my windows. Your set up on this looks great!

Even though I fully agree that control of the environment is a great strategy to get the right images, in the context of sports, photographer typically doesn't have a lot of control on the environment. In that situation, tends to be all about availability of native lenses (of perhaps lack of availability of good native sports lenses in the case of APS-C).

YES. *UCK portrait mode. I have wide-screen TVs. Why tf would I want to watch portrait video on ANY TV? The only thing I can say positive about vertical is that it works great on the firestick while using SmartTube. The live comments don't cover the subject/video. I'll comment from my phone if I feel the need.

I agree, I almost never shoot in vertical. Cropping in on horizontal video when you need clips for social media is smart way to go. Thanks for sharing.

Sony fx30 is such a beast of a camera. The crop sensor debate is so dumb. Just back up and light your scenes

Love your devotion, but man, you are wrong; full frame is king. I used to think like you, but after a year using the full frame and APS, it is clear like water: full frame is way better, I don't say APS is bad but it is not as good as like FF

Vertical video is not a king. I use my aps-c with 13mm lens (19,5 mm of full frame) and no problems in tight places.

My argument with the lense thing is, especially if it’s your first camera, you’re gonna be buying lenses anyway, why not buy full frame? If they work on APSC then that’s a bonus!

Thanks for the video. Even though i don't shoot Sony (anymore) i found it helpful. While I appreciate the fact that there is "one mount" for the different sensor sizes on Sony cameras* it still seems that to get the MOST out of the aps-c cameras, one really needs to invest in serious aps-c lenses. *RIP Sony A Mount :(

However, "cheap" is only great until something doesn't work when you need it most. One thing to keep in mind is resale value. Quality gear tends to hold its value over time, while cheaper options often don’t. Personally, I would never buy a Tamron lens again. Early in my career, I picked up a Tamron 28-75, and it failed on me. I later invested in a used Canon 24-70, and that lens served me faithfully for 15 years. That experience taught me the value of investing in reliability. If I had to choose today, I'd pick Sigma over Tamron without hesitation. Sigma has come a long way with its Art series lenses, delivering great quality without sacrificing durability. Just some food for thought for those debating where to put their money.
