Painting Laminate Wood Furniture without Prep, Primer or Sanding
Переглядів 3004 роки тому
Recently my husband and I remodeled our dinning room (video coming soon!) I had a buffet/dresser in there that I nearly stuck on the curb with a "free" sign. But as I looked at it, I thought "this would be really nice if it was white and grey" So I took on the challenge to paint without any prep (besides wiping it down of course!), primer or sanding. I'am really impressed at how nice it turned ...

Toning my very yellow bleach blond hair to a nice platinum ashy blond with Wella's T18 Toner Products used: Wella T18 Wella ColorCharm Permanent Liquid Hair Toner amzn.to/3ShfQGD (Amazon) I used Matrix 20, for even better results use the Wella Developer amzn.to/47Vp01t (Amazon) Haircolor/Toner measuring cup, this one is very similar to the one I have amzn.to/4bqC3ei (Amazon) Gloves amzn.to/48NH...
Redken Shades EQ 9T, 9P, 9V & 10P on bleached hair
Переглядів 100 тис.4 роки тому
This video shows me strand testing Redken Shades EQ in 9T, 9P, 9V & 10P on my bleached hair. Check it out to see the results of each shade!
9v,9t,9AA,crystal clear. Apply on dry as recommended by EQ shades
10NA would be perfect.
I use a fourmula of 10VV, 9 P and either a drop of 9 N or 10T and clear in the Shades EQ on a leaves 9, 10 if possible and fit a icy silver white. Love it
Wow yes nice
I love your blonde I seen the generic version of 9v at Sally’s and am wondering how it would be. I got the lightest cool blonde by clairol 9aa\20d and idk if I want to get something better
Wow you did it on your own hair with different strands
I heard if you use 10v it makes it white
Well, I applied 09V on freshly bleached yellow hair from dark brown and must say it did give me a light golden blonde kind of cute but only lasted 3 washes now it’s back to yellow light orange not sure why. I did leave it on for 20 minutes.
When working with such light hair. It's best to apply this to wet hair at the bowl. That 10p would have been perfect on wet hair about 8 min at the bowl...
I used the 8na from shades eq on my beautiful blonde hair…. And now it’s brown! That is not what the swatch showed at all…. I’m so upset about it!
I’m so sorry! Try using a clarifying shampoo it may help strip some of the toner out. It will eventually wash out. 💞
I know that feeling, I had beautiful highlights the color of the inside of a banana peel and it took me quite a while to get there and keep my hair healthy-I used level 9’s from redken shades eq and followed instructions from the website to hairstylist who said follow instructions, use on dry hair and leave on for the full 20 minutes-TRUST THE PROCESS- and now my hair is level 3-4 brown. Time and money wasted! I have tried the clarifying and volumizing shampoos, the lemon juice and conditioner and every other household item trick in the book as well as a bleach bath and here I am still sitting at about level 5-6. Breaks my heart 😢
You can remove toner with ketchup. I used organic from Trader Joes. You apply ketchup to your hair, put cap on it and keep it for 2 hours, after that rinse the ketchup, wash your hair with shampoo, apply conditioner, rinse and the toner is gone. @@jadeland3423
You would probably love the shades EQ as long as you rinse as soon as you see the color you like. I also use the level 10N + 10P on the root area, then dilute the rest of bottle with equal Part clear and apply to mids and ends. I usually rinse around 12 minutes.
I dont think you added the clear gloss as these normally are NOT this dark.
most people mix them
Thankyou! This was very helpful
Glad it helped!!
@@vidadegiselle2914 I think the 10p looked really nice too. I also worry about it coming out too dark on my hair so I may just either stick with wella or go with a neutral shade with the redken
Thank you for the Virgo tour. But the choice of music was loud and kinda annoying. 🥺
There is an interactive choice now for your site.
No se ingles ☹️
Thank you! This video was great. We got to choose our spot for this upcoming weekend, I didn’t see it on the video (spot 69) but I love how clear you could understand everything you said and showed.
Yay! Glad to hear it helped! It’s a great park, you are going to love it.
Obviously not a professional 🙄 you just mix with crystal clear,or only knave on 5 min on wet hair at the shampoo bowl!
Your color is what I'm looking for but T18 makes it too dark and purple. So strange because I had pretty much same color you had before toner.
Good video and very helpful
Thanks for doing this video. I just made reservations and it was nice to see where we're camping. I don't know if this policy is new but we were able to do a "site lock" for $25 meaning I was given our site number at the time of reservation and they accommodated the site to be across from a cabin that we also locked in.
You have beautiful hair! If you want to give the shades EQ another try I would recommend using a bottle to apply as they do tone quick just a suggestion. 💛
Thank you! Thanks for the tip, I will try that next time. 💖
I mix the 9v 9t together
This is fantastic and just saved me so much time (and mistakes!). I'm new to toning and was going to just take a risk, but this is a great way to test out a lot of different colours in my hair at once without any mishaps. Cheers.
Lol…. Me, skipping the strand test, currently processing, and realizing it’s probably going to end up way to dark 😅 10T + 9P 🤞🏼
Results??
@@tiffanymeairs9722 it was alright. I did 9M + 9NA awhile after and definitely worked better for me! I would suggest for people who can’t find the ashy formula that works.
All of these shades are beautiful together mix very little with a processing solution!!
You should have mixed with 10n or deluted with clear
Your hair is gorgeous! Wells Charms is too strong for me. I've used it years ago when I was in beauty school. It dried my hair out. I use Redken Shades EQ but I mix it with clear to thin it out and i only leave on 15 minutes - 20 minutes top. I suggest if you want to try, use level 10, the 10 N, 10P, 10T are beautiful. Also, my friend put Joice Sand Silver toners and mixed them and it came out very light pale blonde. But, your hair is absolutely gorgeous. So use what works for you!
My hair is blonde, my stylist only uses 10P on my hair & it never looks that dark or purple. It’s always a shimmery pearl blonde
Where can u find these Smokes im going to Solvang tomorrow lol
My hair was blonde but it just took out the orange didn’t get like this thank god I just want a beige ash
Glad to hear it worked out for you! 💞
Would love to see these Mini Mokes on Catalina Island.
Hi did you put bleach all over your hair and the you toner ??please let me know thanks 😊
Hi Dina! I did bleach all of my hair prior to the toner.
@@vidadegiselle2914 Hi what kind bleach you use ? How long you leave on ?
Apply to wet hair & I agree mix equal parts with clear! A level 9 on your base could process very fast. Minutes even seconds! If used & mixed properly shades is a magical unicorn for toning! Beautiful hair btw! 🤗
Thank you love! 💞
Did you apply directly to your roots?
I would have thought 9v& 10p w/clear On towel dry
You have to mix with clear to achieve a lighter end result. Shades is 100% healthier for you hair. T18 you use 20 volume developer which is too high of a developer to use on your already lightened hair. Shades will only deposit and make you hair feel and look healthier. I would give it another try but add clear or the 000 - you can also mix the 10p with the 10t to achieve the color you want and add a little bit of clear.
Thank you for the tip!
Is there any way to avoid using clear ?
This is so true, the Wella Ts needed developer, and that fried my hair...
U need clear to mix with the level 10s
whats clear?
@@jodiefletcher2689 the clear demi in the same line
@@kristenthebarber2505 thankyou so much
Can you put the hand straps on the shoulders?
Hello Vida de Giselle, I see that you are using the NEW Shades EQ processing solution, may i enquire what is the Volume or % of the Hydrogen Peroxide on the processing solution, thanks and greetings from Australia xxx
My understanding is that the EQ Processing solution is 7 vol.
@@martaperales163 Many thanks Marta, yes, another stylist (The Life of Hair) answered my question straight away, thanks for your kindness xxx
You have to mix with crystal clear and the processing solution and dilute the colors watch them very carefully at the bowl sometimes you don't have to leave them on for the recommended time just watch your hair very beautiful colors you just need to add some crystal clear to the formula
Can you dilute it with conditioner too? Or is that a no no lol
@@rileygent no.
@@Coconutlovesstuff hey thanks for this very informative information. But it was fine
what vol do you mix the toner with and ratios of each crystal, developer and 9v x
@@l0lliezoe3x they say to only use the shades eq processing solution, plus the crystal clear to get less pigment uptake for lighter blondes and use at a ratio of 1:1 (or 1 part processing solution to half part pigment and half part crystal clear)... you can use less pigment and more crystal clear if less colour is wanted, just have the crystal clear plus pigment equal 1 part, then add the same quantity of processing solution to make 1:1). I hope that makes sense? Eg. 1/4 oz pigment, 3/4 oz crystal clear plus 1 oz processing solution (weak formulation). Or... 1 oz pigment to 1 oz processing solution (the standard formulation). Or 1/2 oz pigment plus 1/2 oz crystal clear and 1 oz processing solution. You get the idea...
if you like your roots dardker doyou tone them also?
For you hair I would do 9v , 9n with crystal clear . The 9 always pull dark and the ash tones are even darker always add some gold to your formula to get a beautiful neutral shade. Or if you just want to get rid of the yellow use 9v with crystal clear every time I use a straight 9v on my freshly bleached clients it gets too violent... just mixing with crystal clear gives it the perfect color. Or use the 10s
Thanks for the tip! I will try that out!!!
That’s so true! Thank you so much! Always add a N to your toners
@@cindytan4768 or G (gold) to help keep things bright and not dull
So for yellow hair. Use clear and 10s? Or 10 n ? Equal parts 1 to 1
@@momma8954 in my opinión if you only see some yelllow then yes go for the 10 without crystal clear or a level 9 crystal clear ...if it’s very yellow I think a 9 alone is good enough because I feel like the 9s go on so dark once applied to freshly bleached hair ...if you bleached it enough where you only see a very pale yellow then the ten or 9 with crystal clear is the safest bet...if you’re using 9 and want to dilute it you would do for example 1 oz of 9v + 1 oz of crystal clear (this is considered 2 oz of color already because crystal clear is pretty much color with no pigment so in total this is 2 oz of color ) then you mix it with 2 oz of processing solution (now you have a total of 4 oz of color) ..now for the colors that depends on you what you’re looking for ..go back and see what color you like,,,do you want a Ashy, neutral or bright blonde ...9v on super yellow hair will give you that Ashy blonde because it helps get rid of all the yellow from your hair ...9n will help neutralize the yellow from your hair so you will be 8. Between ..if you like the yellow and just want to refine it and still keep the gold tones ...try 9gi...gorgeous color again on yellow hair ...if your already pretty blonde from the bleach try 10 gi...
where can i purchase
PROTIPS 1) process shades EQ for a shorter amount of time and it won't be so dark. 2) the shades EQ 00 gloss is a beautiful gloss (no colour) mix the gloss with the colour and it won't be so dark but gives beautiful glossy results. 3) I personally LOVE shades EQ it's so customisable, you can mix different levels/ shades together. 4) shades EQ is also my 1 of my faves for doing root taps. Hope this helps all the DIY'ers out there.
I just used shades 10-P and 10-T on my client today and it came out amazing, I think she left it on for too long.
@@aimeelvpink8082 your absolutely right, she did leave it on too long and she also put it on dry hair She doesn't have the knowledge and experience, it's her fault not the product 😏
where can i purchase
for how long should I leave it on? :)
@@christinapxp if you're using it as a toner it will depend on your hair (how yellow/porous). Apply to wet hair and watch it closely because it can take to some people's hair quite quickly. (Average time is between 5 - 10 mins for toning but can be left on for up to 20)
Looks good
Thank you. Just what i needed to see, your an angel. I almost didn't do a strand test and used the V09. Oh my my hair would of looked purple. Thanks again
Yay! Glad it helped you out!!! Thanks for watching!! 💞
Just leave it on for a few minutes and it won’t be purple at all. Keep watching your hair while toning it. It’s not the product, shades EQ is great.
It’s meant to be diluted with the clear and left on for full 20 minutes on level 9+ blondes. Instructions are important
Wow the pink with the gold really pops! I got the pink with the black frame and there stunning
My hair is your tone and I mixed 9t with 10vv and then 10n to add some natural tones and it is great
Thanks for the tip! I’ll try that out!
