Looking good, very functional setup. I think you’re on the right track. Just temporarily remove those front recovery points and cut away the corners of the bulbar mounts that interfere with the holes you put the shackles through. Upgrade to proper-sized cup holders with an insert from Patrolapart for $50.
Hi @warrenmatthews62,, thank you heaps for feedback!! Indeed I need to grind away the bull bar mount for the recovery point! It's a real pain for bigger shackles ect!! I'm thinking to just 3d print better cup holders for now, however I've not seen patrolapart ones so I'll definitely check those out!

Awesome video guys! How did you find getting the rig over to the island and back again?
Thank you heaps!! Yeah it was actually very easy, was probably the easiest out of the 3 Islands, Fraser, Moreton and Straddie. No need to air down, and has size and enough room for all types of vehicles, trailers ect!!

Query - What time of year were you there? We've never encountered those horse flies. Sand flies aren't large, infact you can bearly see a sand fly, they're the size of grain of sand, hence name possibly. I've never seen anyone use a board to enter Wabbie from the sand dune, makes the walk to Wabbie possibly worthy. Couple of things I will add, Winter months as whales are amazing, have been at champagne pools with whales immediately behind the rock fascia. West coast is 100% amazing, even just for a day visit. Only time we camped there a massive westerly came thru with King tide, was a very frightening night, waves high as east coast, wind ripping thru, foam against tent walls, frightening experience. Twas the night to be on the east coast, haha. The attraction to Allom is the turtles, they are around the steps you saw people at. Other than turtles, nothing to see. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ K'gari.
Hi @ianweal3081, we were there in January. The horse flies were so bad on the south east camping, but very few at zone 8. Definitely recommend sand boarding into wabby, it is such a fun experience!! Just a pain to walk back up the hill each time 😂. Spotting whales would be amazing, thats good to know! Might to head back during winter haha. That does not sound like a fun experience at all, and that's great to know about allom, next time we are there, we'll definitely look for the turtles!!

Thank you Andrew!! Yeah it is an awesome 4wd. For all beach driving I normally run 18psi, the all terrain tyres also help alot!

Well done Grace and Cameron. Great photography and editing. Desert Dwellers in Alice Springs have insect repellent with Cedarwood in it. They will post it. Keeps the horseflies and other bities away. Keep enjoying and sharing your adventures.🎉❤
