Several years ago I was looking for a channel which fed me just a little bit of Private Pilot info every day just to help keep current on everything. Maybe it existed but I never found it. Hence, my channel. I try to share a Short everyday with some piece of Private Pilot info, generally just taken from the Test Prep guides. I really like scenario based trainings and questions; and want to incorporate more of that type. Also, I love flying around in the Piper Cherokee and want to start sharing more of those flights also. I travel for work, and love to do plane spotting type stuff as well.
About me: I achieved everything up through CFII, but pursued a career in Aircraft Dispatching which I don't regret. I wish I kept my CFI current though! Now I'm working for a flight planning vendor and love it. I enjoy doing UA-cam as I have time.

You stole this straight off drone pilot ground school.
Quite. Running hot increases NOX. Epa gonna make you run a scr
A heavier aircraft stalls at a higher speed???
Correct. Stall speed increases as weight increases, since a wing would need to be at a higher angle of attack to create enough lift for a given airspeed.
Nice
why do pilots keep crashing due to this yet it seems like avation 101.
Keep em coming!! Thanks!
@ADBAviation Will do, appreciate your support!
@@J1Aviation yeah man. Much appreciated!
Ha got it's been a bit but I got it easy
@@sneezingidiot301 welcome back to the party! 🥳
Thrust must exceed drag or you have no forward momentum.
this is true, but only in terms of acceleration
A cool relation between them is how you can use pitch to control speed and speed to control pitch!
This is what I tried to comment on a video that was praising some instructor for taking control during an EFTO and he turned back to land opposite direction on departure runway. Everyone got mad at me. Never do that stall spin crash burn
@rongoodenough5976 i agree, after takeoff straight ahead. Too many stories about people turning around and not making it.
Start landing it under control.
UPS plane in the background
Idiot I had engine failure in a Cessna 150 in tulsa okla N8594J you do what ever it takes to land that aircraft safe PEOPLE DONT LISTEN THE THESE YOU TUBE IDIOTS FLY SAFE😊
This is such a basic information but a really important information to keep the foundation strong. Good landing starts with a good traffic pattern. Great video!
@andean796 Thanks! Agree, a good landing starts way before the actual landing.
Point your ailerons towards the pretty girls (headwind), away from the ugly ones (tailwind) 😅
@@Owensully123 haha! Haven't heard that one before!
I always go around when gliding.
Love your videos!
Glad you enjoy, thanks for watching!
By all means you all need to try this at any cost. You will enjoy and want more
Minimums should ideally be evaluated while planning, for example in cruise or even before you step in the aircraft to avoid any workload pressure, time pressure or expectation bias from creeping in.
100% agree. Without having them set, it would be easier to be pressured into something.
Nah bruh, at night you're upside down so you have to compensate by inverting daytime procedures.
@@G4M5T3R haha, true. Makes the approach a bit more challenging
Doesn't taxi well.
@BernardBouchard-qq9kq maybe it's like those one wheelers, just need some balancing.
Fun to fly
@brjimbo1 it's been awhile for me since I've flew one, but agree they were fun.
Personal minimums are easy to set, harder to keep!
3000 foot ceiling, 20 max on the wind for me.
Sort of wheelout 😂
@@SewaNival yeah true!
what is initial? as in initial flight altitude?
@evil_flstudio it would be the first altitude you plan to level off at.
Unlimited visibility hi pressure would be more stable than an low pressure system tho right??
@KlintonWyont i see what you are saying. High pressure can be nice weather, and low pressures can be unstable, but when it's talking about stable air mass, basically it's one that resists convective. So things like foggy days, steady state rain, stratus clouds etc...
What is a VOR?!😢
Very High Frequency Omnidirectional Range. Essentially, you use radio signals to navigate by tuning into certain frequencies. It kind of acts like waypoints along a route.
Airplane VOR (Very High-Frequency Omnidirectional Range) checks are essential to ensure the accuracy and reliability of the navigation system. Here are the key points regarding VOR checks, including methods, requirements, and regulations: Regulatory Reference • FAA regulations in 14 CFR 91.171 require VOR checks for IFR (Instrument Flight Rules) operations. Frequency of Checks • VOR checks must be conducted within the preceding 30 calendar days before a flight under IFR. Permissible Error • The maximum allowable error depends on the method used: • Ground Check: ±4° • Airborne Check: ±6° • Dual VOR Check: ±4° between the two receivers Methods for VOR Checks 1. Ground Checkpoint • Many airports have designated VOR test facilities (VOTs) or checkpoints. • Tune to the test frequency or designated checkpoint frequency. • The CDI (Course Deviation Indicator) should indicate 0° with a “TO” flag or 180° with a “FROM” flag. • Permissible error: ±4°. 2. Airborne Checkpoint • Checkpoints are published in the Chart Supplement (formerly Airport/Facility Directory). • Fly over the checkpoint at the published altitude and radial. • Permissible error: ±6°. 3. Dual VOR Check • In an aircraft equipped with two independent VOR receivers, tune both to the same VOR. • Compare the two indications. • Permissible difference: ±4°. 4. VOT (VOR Test Facility) • A VOT broadcasts a specific radial for testing (typically 360°). • Tune the frequency and verify the CDI aligns with the published radial. • Permissible error: ±4°. 5. Self-Test • Rotate the OBS (Omni-Bearing Selector) to check needle deflection. • Ensure the needle centers appropriately and flags function correctly. Recording VOR Checks You must document the following details after completing a VOR check: 1. Date of the check. 2. Place or location of the check. 3. Bearing Error (e.g., +2°, -3°). 4. Signature of the person performing the check (pilot’s initials are sufficient for personal checks). Tips • Always reference the Chart Supplement for the most up-to-date VOR test facilities and checkpoints. • Conduct VOR checks during routine pre-flight checks if IFR is anticipated. • Use redundancy (e.g., dual VORs) to ensure reliability.

Wow, 12, that's amazing. I think I was 15 when I started. Never hurts to start young!!!
thanks
I have no clue how a VOR is
How are people not getting the joke 😭
@cactuspower6298 thank you, I know right? I thought the laughing face would show it's a joke. Anyways....
THANK YOU

That Hershey Bar wing is so sweet. When your competition is Cessna, you better be good, and Piper is great.
@@skjoe1115 agree, love the Cherokee 140!
@J1Aviation Have you had the pleasure of flying the Piper Warrior II? In 1974, the semi-tapered wing was introduced. NACA 652-415 profile. It's two feet longer and has phenomenal control during a full stall. When the air separates, you'll get a gentle buffet followed by a gentle pitch down while holding the yoke in a full pitch up position and not reliving the back pressure. With the ball centered and neutral rudder, the Warrior descends at about 800 feet per minute while it pitches up, buffets, pitches down in this stable cycle. It feels as if the airplane recovers from the stall on its own. Although it's still descending @ 800 ft. per min...
Nice. Love the Cessna 150.
@@jbroheretoday great little airplane
If you got an oxygen system just go ahead and use it Don't follow FAA "requirements" because not everybody is built the same
Artificial horizon!!
In flight sim 2024 today, it had me land on a runway from an airport that closed in 2007. The wingspan of the C172 I was flying was wider than the runway, which apple maps shows to be a 12.5 ish foot width... That was not a fun landing.
@lzxty6024 wow, that would be a tricky landing! That would take skill.
I thought slower more time to maybe not miss
WOW, never thought of this. 👍
I was between 1 and 3 paused it chose 3 because if I don't know what's going on I might space on what means what the level bit thing I think can remember but depending on the aircraft there's a lot of things you have to remember that does what
Agree, definitely alot to remember
What does the last one mean? Full oil and oil to capacity?
Kennedy should have relied on his instruments, but since he had no instrument training, oh well
True, that's a sad story. Good lesson!

thank you sir 🎉
