And while sense of security is definitely one of those factors for many, it is by far the lower cost of living making people choose the Grand Strand time and time again. Just as an example, I paid $2.89/gallon for gasoline yesterday. If you're retired and on a fixed budget, people love your dollar goes further here. As I tell all my clients, the Builder is only as good as the trades working in that particular community. It is unfair to any builder, large or small to generalize. Thankfully, in the experiences my clients have had thus far locally, they (with the exception of one built during COVID supply chain issues) have been very satisfied. I'm sorry your friend did not have the same.
