It's all to do with the coding for sound from my understanding usually with usb it utilises the phones sound system and with bluetooth it focuses on car sound control. To get a good balance I'd say 0 everything back to factory in settings on car and phone both when plugged in and Bluetooth and make adjustments from there for both as you play sound.

Loool unfortunately it's not possible. I've looked at every option to bypass but the only method of bypass is through the actual dealership which isn't free either sorry buddy

Yep that's the method but only works if you have android auto available. Some models come with it preset some don't but has the capability which can be set with a odb

It will only work wired. But you can enable it with the odb tool if you have the usb port that shows a screen which is for the unit.

Unfortunetly you wouldn't be able to use it wirelesly unless you buy a third party android ready monitor. Which I have bought for my c class and I will soon make a video on it.

The auto settings usually are linked to being connected to the Internet. Some devices cause issues with this. Best thing to do is set it manually and keep it on regional and put the correct region and update it when needed.

Yes you can. You need to buy a odb device which will activate it. Google " odb Mercedes android auto" and some devices will come up

So Mercedes will tell you this, however I used a obd plug that has android and apple car play on it and you plug it in and it activates it which proves to me that Mercedes chat crap for the sake of making you spend more money with them. But the adapter does work.

firstly how did you get into the engineering settings? which obd did you use, usually in the "tel" button when you click it again you see options for internet apple car-play and android auto . if this shows up then its a matter of plugging in your phone via usb in the centre console into the monitor looking logo slot

Firstly in your arm rest compartmement you need to see if you have the input for usb for this method. If you do then you need to go to the telephone option and press it again to see the options for Android auto or carplay.

Might be power supply. Usually is the case.

If it has car play then it should have android auto but if not. Yes the odb tool will work however depending on the software from what I'm aware of its just the old model andoid phones that work. Alternatively you can buy the new display screen with android software already installed.

Yes I agree it should but that's Mercedes trying to make you spend more money on the extras. That's why I'm planning to upgrade to the new android display its bigger and its easy instalation but costs like £500 🙄

You'll need to first see if you have the USB input that shows a little screen as the logo if you do then it's compatible. If not then the only thing you can do is buy a android based screen to replace the current one with.

Main question is. If you bought the car second hand then that means someone previously tried using the obd connection method to show android auto on there however the newer phones of android don't work as the software is for older models. So you won't have much luck. Unfortunetly with new phones.

The only way to get external audio is through connecting it via USB to external speaker.

That's false. It's 480p native. Not 1080. It supports a 1080p signal but downscales It to 480p.

I'm so sorry I accidently wrote 1080. For some reason I wrote the native resolution to my Aser projector. 480 is the native on this.

First thing to see is if you have the USB input I your arm rest. And then if you do which is a image of 2 screens side by side. Then it's possible.

Was it a part of the package when you bought the car. Or was it installed via obd after sales. This is the main thing that makes the difference.

@@MrOneTech Not had the car from new and got it used from a non franchised place so I can’t tell, it’s definitely on the screen in Tel. Is it only supposed to work through one of the USB ports or does it sound like I may have a problem with my car?

​@@jonno9592sorry for the late reply. If you still have this issue. My thoughts are you can get it fixed by Mercedes if you do have it on there when you bought it. It means you have the option already which they can help with. It will cost less than getting one fitted by factory for sure.

The easiest way is to take it to Mercedes and tell them there is a fault with the system and that it is recent and sudden. They will have a quick solution to it

Since this device there has been many more that was released. Some better and cheaper some better but more expensive. To be honest short throw is only good if you plan on using it for what it's intended. Or table top short throws which can literally be next to a wall and still be wide. My advice is to set yourself a realistic budget for the standard and purpose you want it for. Did you realise how I said "want" instead of" need " if there's one thing I've learnt about things like this. Only spend the money on it if you truly believe its needed. Or you're rich and don't care what you spend money on lol. Either way. I can look into it for you and get back to you on that but can't promise If I'm willing to spend the money at the moment. Once I get 1k followers and 4k views and be able to monotize my account and gain income from it then I'm willing to spend every penny on buying things like this to provide deep info for you all.

The obd connection tool to activate it is from 2015 so should be fine if you do it that way.

The main issue which I found out is that android auto doesn't work as well. As car play. What I did was buy a cheap iPhone 6 and just left that connected so when I get in the car it's Alreadyset up.

You need a firmware update on the car play due to it being a older model it cannot carry the new phones specs. If you connected an older phone it would work but due to new phones having better software and faster and newer it will cause pixilation.

I'm sorry I've sold it. Truth be told at one point last year I was trying to start a business so I sold all my tech along with this. The business didn't workout and I lost out however now that I'm good again I will buy another and do a review on that.
