Are you someone who's been applying to 200+ jobs and not getting any callbacks? Even though there may be many reasons for this, there is one major thing that most people forget to do and that is target networking. In this video, I talk about what this is, why it's important, and even examples of how to actually do it.

5 UX whiteboard challenges in 5 days (What I learned & tips)
VERY HELFULL
1. Slack 2. Facebook 3. Reddit
This really resonated with me especially people having the most opinions that know the least about design! I once worked in a company where the director always had the last word regardless of any data we presented him with, user research or inputs from anyone else in the team and it was really frustrating to work like that.
Nice video but that stupid creaky voice it’s very annoying.
Very very helpful! I have binge watched your videos and absolutely love it! Very insightful and love that you go into detail. Keep uploading more!
A couple of takeaways I have drawn from this video that might help you stand out during your job searching: 1. It is important in the first instance to think through the whole process in order to understand what the scope of the solution is going to be so we don't spend more time than needed or we run out of time to conclude the challenge. 2. It is noticeable that during the discovery phase she put on her researcher's hat and that was her main focus. It is important for a moment to think only about understanding the problem in depth. Ask yourself, how do I understand this problem, what resources do I need to soak up the issue? While it is vital in the design process to have a strategic vision to consider the different forces and tendencies that influence the solution, it is equally important to be able to focus, even for a moment, just on the user; to look in detail to get information like the one you proposed: why is this problem happening to this person?, what would be the positive sides of improving this situation?, what is the user not seeing that influences their problem?, what problems do people face in tracking their situation?, what tools do they use today? What i'm trying to say if focus real deep in the user and the particular problem, rather than thinking in the common design proccess that we learn at college. 3. Going back to the issue of being strategic, you have to consider the whole context, which means thinking about integrations with other apps, the permissions that this app is going to ask the user for and also the empty states; what happens when I haven't added content yet or I have already consumed what I had in my profile?, how do I communicate and convince the user to continue using the app? I haven't seen this kind of approach much in design challenge videos and it's appreciated that she showed it. That's what I take away from the video, thank you very much for the information, Linda.
Hi Linda. Is this book useful to industrial design students(who exclusively focus on physical products)??
Thank you for breaking down your design thinking process. Now, I have a better understanding.
Thank you for keeping it real, Linda.
Girl, preach.
its weird everyone hates Zara websites...but yet everyone talks about it. i think their marketing/PR team is doing something right to gain tractions lol
their app ux design is just trash. i completely stopped buying from zara because the navigation is so painful and i can not filter anything specific.... they removed so many options. they already had very few to begin wth....
Thank you
Perfectly explained. Exactly what I was looking for.
Create customer value. You need to give the customer rational reasons to buy the product. More importantly, you need to create a positive emotional impact. Sales is the report card.
For 5 hours I think I still doing the research phase 😅
thank you
I finished the google ux design course on coursera but I just don’t feel so motivated continue.
Thank you for sharing this!
Following this set up landed me my gig as well. The proof is in the pudding. 👏
Hi, Great work. One thing i wanted to know that can we reduce the no of on-boarding screen. I am thinking that do we really need these no of steps?
Best place to find researcher jobs??
Thank you for sharing! My first interview for a volunteer position was so chaotic and this was a quick and easy breakdown of how to even present a case study and what to expect from a design challenge.
WOW same!! I just got accepted into PA school, I denied the offer and decided to do UX.
same in architecture. sucks. it's just about the job title
How can I meet product design and languages? Both are my passions😳
I'm junior UI/UX Designer, Like this comment who are fellow FILIPINO UI/UX designers who are currently watching this video.
You're awesome! Thanks 😊✨✅
The biggest motivation in the design world is seeing your work being useful and adding value to society!
Thank you!
It sucks that we basically have to stalk potential networking peers just to land a job. It's like this complex social engineering tactic and just another game to play / hoop to jump through. Am I going to do it? Hell yea. Do I like that I have to? Hell no lol
in which tool did u make the presentation
very useful 👍
Great video! Thank you so much, I'll try it!
thank you linda your coaching helped me land an interview !
Ugh the business needs always trumping user needs is something I hit me so hard. When I got hired the pitched the idea that we are advocating for our users as designers. Yet every time I Am compromising my designs because it’s beyond scope for the work….. it’s so frustrating
Amazing Case Study Thank you Linda and congrats on the job
I am sooooo glad I found your videos. I also have a psych & fashion background so it's really nice to know the transition is possible.
Great Video. Really helpful.
This is fantastic. Thankyou!
Hi, thanks for the video! I’m thinking of doing a passion project, even though I haven’t started a bootcamp or have prior education in UX, yet. Do you think that’s doable?
Very helpful! Thanks for this!
Thanks a lot Linda, this is exactly what I was looking for as well! Straight to-the-point.
Thanks for the information. 👍
Thanks alot

I am new to this channel and I am happy to see this video because it helped me to complete my design challenge so thank you so much 🥰❤
