I was born and raised in the US, but unfortunately didn’t learn Tagalog growing up since English was spoken most of the time. I decided to actually start trying to learn a few months ago and watching your videos motivates me to keep learning and dive deeper, although it do be a struggle at times lol. Grew up in the UK from both Nueva Ecija parents before most people say I have a Welsh accent because I was the only Filipino in my school, coz I had no Filipino friends until Uni. 😊

Happy New Year y'all! Im also a Filipino who was born abroad but managed to be fluent in Tagalog thanks to the massive Filipino community and media i grew up with. Yet drspite studying in the Philippine curriculum, I truly felt that moment when i questioned myself about my identity cuz i only knew the surface level of being Pinoy. Admittedly if I didn't listen to songs from ALAMAT, i never would have gotten the boost to be curious in diving into the various cultures of the Philippines and learn more info on the Motherland's history. It's crazy to say it but im glad I got to be exposed to Filipino media and the community as I continue to grow up and reside in the Middle East Glad to hear your stories and sense of identity as Filipinos born and raised abroad 🫶🏽
