Great review particularly how to adapt the vee to particular use. Im biased toward touring so perhaps may just look at the comfort level of the seat. Getting my vee tomorrow! Happy riding

I just changed my rear pads. Now the front bolt will not go all the way in. There is a gap about 2mm before it touches the caliper, and i dont dare tighten it any harder in fear of stripping the threads. Any ideas?

Do you actually use the trailer? I don't seem to see any video's with it (at least not in the thumbnails)... just curious how this design panned out, as I'm thinking of building a trailer.

When you go for a ride to see how much the coolant reservoir goes down, Do you have to put the fairings back on??? Can you just ride without the fairings? See how much you have to top off the coolant. And when you're finally done, that's when you put them back on?

Super handy. Always good to see a new perspective. I just got a 2007 Vstrom 650, and I'm slowly catching back on on the missed maitenance. Got a new fuel pump, and rebuilt all the assembly as it was rusted to pieces from sitting by the last owner, tank cleaned of rust now. Did an oil/filter change yesterday, now onto the spark plugs, air filter, coolant, brake fluid, and I'll save the valve clearances for a while. Bike has 80k miles, and runs like new, and doesn't look that old. My first adventure bike, after having no bike for the last couple of years.

Nice structure and cardan joint is correctly placed for once, Most self-builders place the cardan joint with the vertical hinge on the side of the trailer, causing the trailer to tip on its side during a short bend or when reversing. Nice video without annoying music!

I agree bikes have a soul. Especially after owning them a while and maintaining them yourself. I really feel them being lonely when not used as much as before or appreciative after an oil change and a wash

On the ride, looks fun! Are you standing on the more technical sections? I find that really helps, as well as reving up on hill climbs and use the clutch for speed to avoid stalling out. If you are new to dirt (as I am), the IRC tire UA-cam channel with Rich Larson has some great instructional videos on drills to help improve ones skills off road. I have been using them for the last year and my control and skill has increased. Thanks for sharing the DRZ content. On the Farckles: As a 2023 model DRZ owner, I am happy with my Seat Concepts seat and it’s much more comfortable than stock. I also have a skid plate, radiator guards, hand guards, IMS footpegs, rear rack, adjustable levers, led lights with tail tidy & double take enduro mirrors. I am currently having the dealership add in the Suzuki kickstarter kit (don’t have a garage at home), and plan on doing the 3x3 mod, jetting, and exhaust. That should complete my mod list, as well as bring the weight back closer to stock.

I had a GS500F like yours & I agree about cross winds. There's a lot of plastic to catch the wind & it's pretty light weight bike causing it to he pushed sidways & and scrubbing off speed. I did find that upgrading the front & rear suspension to RaceTech springs & an R6 rear shock helped A LOT.

Ive been checking in on various sites on You Tube now for well almost 10 years. Pick a topic, I've been there. (Still appreciate ChuckE2009, you know that kid from Ohio who moved to Texas. Taught me to weld. ) This is (I think) the most comprehensive and honest video I've seen about the (PROCESS) of being creative with metal. OOPS now there are a bunch of other video's of other people doing this. And I guess BJ over on Brick House Builds has done this. Oh well. Anyway ... Thank you so much for this one. ~ It's the creative process that you share here. Just great. ~. I guess you name it, someone has done it ~ On You Tube! Oh yea. 👍
