Indiana's Top 5 Best UTV & ATV Riding Locations
You completely missed the best park in Ala , Grand river motorsports park in Robertsdale Al
Thanks for the heads up! Why do you think it's the best? What do you like the most about it?
notice you did the same thing I did you put the two front rock lights to where when you flipped your shocks they rub the lights lol
Yup. Ended up having to move them.
What events coming up I have a sidebyside
Check their websites for event schedules.
I live in Idaho and am about to pull the trigger on my first SxS .... I am torn between the 74" or the 64"... I want the stability in the dunes and the comfort of the long travel suspension, but I don't want to be barred from gated trails. Does ID have 65" gated trails like back east?
Your best bet for the most up to date info to help you make your decision would be to call your DNR office and ask them about each trail system you think you'll be visiting.
At 1:37 that quote is funny
Thanks for watching. I try to throw a few of them in for those that watch the whole vid.
Is it smoother without swaybars
It's smoother at slow speeds (less than 30 mph). There's more body roll and feels like it may tip over at faster speeds (over 30).
@ATVG ahhh maybe I will leave mine on, I was thinking about just removing the front, but I travel usually wide open throttle everywhere lol.
Anyone know good dirt bike spots ? I’m considering moving to Alaska
Look at their DNR website to help you find them, then look each one up individually to learn more about them. I'm sure you'll find some epic trails there!
Is booby Ville
Is that at badlands
No, at St Helen
Have you had them in Mud or on Rocks yet? I am looking at a set for a Commander
Nothing serious, yet. The little bit of mud I've gone through, they cleared it out right away. Haven't been anywhere with thick or deeper than a foot mud yet. No decent rock obstacles near me, so it'll be a bit until I can test them on rocks.
@@ATVG Thank You for the reply!
This is a lot of wear after a short amount of miles! I hope these tires hold up. They look cool though!
There are great places to ride in Northern California. I guess you didn't want to do your home work for up here. Thats okay, keep the crowd down there in Southern California
There are great places to ride all over the country. This is a list of Top places. Which places do you think should have made this list?
I notice you are using ear protection do the upper doors increase how loud it is in there?
No, it doesn't seem like they do. The X3 is a loud machine, so I wear ear plugs or muffs whenever I drive it, with or without the upper doors in place.
Thanks for the in depth quick review. 🤝
I hope you find it helpful.
Just put my first 80 miles on them, and the traction is great, but they are showing significant signs of wear already! The ride was mostly dirt, with some gravel roads and about 1 mile of pavement. I hope buying these wasn't a mistake.
I was hoping this would go viral for Halloween. So much for that LOL.
That's scary!
Great video!! 👍
Thanks. Hopefully you found it useful.
Made most of the trails there when they opened at Haspin Acres, went almost every weekend for 10 years in a row 😂
Sounds like a dream come true!
Amazing traction, look cool, and provide a comfy ride. Try these on your sxs.
I like a few of these like the pack out mount
It makes it a lot easier to bring along whatever I feel I need for the ride.
This thing is loaded
Still plenty more to add 😄
The wind carved out many drop offs that aren't normally out there in the dunes. Got surprised by more than one!
I live in Huntsville and I ride at Stoney lonesome at cullman and we’re going to a new park called northwest Alabama mountain ride
Let us know what you think of the new park. It's great finding new places to ride.
The only problem with riding in Colorado is it you have to transport your vehicle to a staging area and we have a motorhome and pull our trailer and UTV behind so it’s very impractical to ride because of the staging issue if they open up the roads this would be a great place to ride.
Some of the staging areas are pretty small. Some are huge, though, so it's probably just a matter of you finding the right ones, or renting a truck on the days you want to ride. Where there's a will, there's a way!
Just moved to Alabama a few months ago and have been looking for places to ride near Montgomery, decided to get a 2023 Honda CRF125F to go along with the Kawasaki Teryx and haven't been able to find places to ride other then Boggin On The Plains in Auburn. However when I do decide to take out to some farther places this video definitely gave me some ideas, thanks
Congrats on your move to Alabama as well as your new bike! I'm glad this video brought to light some play areas for you to explore. Thanks for watching my video.
If you ride in dusty environments, the S&B Particle Separator is for you. They keep 95% of the dust from getting to your air filter.
If you like this you should check out Hillbilly files!! They put a magnet down the well! ❤
If you haven’t seen it yet he’s building a new a bridge! Jack is awesome!! ❤ and some things happening with the cemetery!
Do any of these in the video (or perhaps any others in Arkansas), permit "overland camping".. ie.. camping out on the trail.. or do they all basically have some set campground? I'm really looking for an area that allows what I guess I call "ATV Backpacking". ATV instead of hiking.. and camping along the trail. Thanks!
Some of the info you're looking for may be in this link: www.fs.usda.gov/activity/osfnf/recreation/ohv I would recommend you contact your DNR office and ask them for the details, that way you know you have an up to date response that you can count on.
Any hills on the trail? Looks good
On the trail? No. Off the trail? Yes. Off the trail and open to public ORV traffic? No.
How does it keep down pressure?
It's own weight, plus a slight downward angle from the mounting bracket.
Check out Grand River Motorsports robertsdale Alabama
Will do. Thank you for adding to the list! What do you like most about Grand River Motorsports?
Got a rolled edge blade on my Polaris died by side go right over lawn no issues
Nice. Where did you get it from?
got it at polaris dealer
after a ride in the dessert I had the same problem a big chip and then the engine stopped I found this open box what was the solution and the consequences for you thank you
I ended up replacing the air intake manifold with a new stock one. But, I added an RPM clamp set to it to help make sure it doesn't come apart again.
@@ATVG This thing did not cause any other problems on the vehicle afterwards
@@OptimustHolding No other problems that I am currently aware of. I don't think it sucked any debris into the engine.
Thank youn
Did you get an engine light after this problem?
Leota to Houghton Lake is fine if you like driving 60mph.
Everyone likes driving 60, right? But, in the Leota to Houghton Lake example, are you saying it should be required?
@ATVG no I don't like getting run of the road. Leota in nothing more than dirt road.
Some great trails on your list! 60 year old Arizona native who has been all over this state. I could add a bunch but I’m not about to share! As a duel sport rider I’m already upset at all the inconsiderate sxs drivers out there who show no trail etiquette.
Thank you. When you're ready to share, we're ready to listen! Do you think there's anything that can or should be done to minimize your noted lack of trail etiquette in sxs operators?
@@ATVG I would love to share, I’ve turned on so many friends onto some of my favorite finds over the years! Biggest problem with sxs owners is their lack of awareness or consideration for others on the trails. I can’t count how many times I’ve come around corners and they are on the wrong side. I’ve literally been run off the road either accidentally or on purpose and the operator keeps going. Apparently being in a sxs gives them priority over those of us on bikes. And when they are in a group it’s even worse . So I’ve learned to limit who I share my favorites with to avoid becoming a statistic. And that sucks because some of them are just glorious! Temps are coming down and it’s time to get back out there too!
Almost got me
LOL
Just did badlands yesterday. Was a blast
It is an awesome place. Did you get to ride the serpentine?
Did you just do this ride, leave’s changing already? Nice been wanting to do this next time we’re in the area!
Did the ride last year, early October, before it was officially dubbed the "Scenic Route." It's a great ride/trip, with only a couple areas of choppy road. Looking forward to seeing your video of it!
Keep a wire saw or good folding saw with u Or macheti
Folding saw is usually on board. This one I just manhandled. LOL
@ATVG ya I saw hard work great Job was fun watching ur video
Looks like Great Fun!!!❤
Every time I'm on the island, it's a guaranteed blast!
Holy smokes I'm ready to get back ASAP GREAT VIDEO
Thanks for being one of the stars of the vid! Looking forward to the next one as well.
Great I’m glad I drove all the way here not thinking about this stuff(5 hours) glad I can purchase all stickers at welcome center.
I hope it all worked out for you, and I hope you had an awesome time on the dunes.
Do you have a map of the route you went. me and some buddies are heading out next week, we don't know we're we are gonna head yet, and this looks great
www.michigan.gov/dnr/things-to-do/orv-riding/maps-list North Missaukee and Kalkaska Route PDFs are in the link above. This ride was from the Manton trailhead, heading East and then North to Kalkaska, and then South and further East to Grayling, and then back to Manton. You'll see how they all come together in the PDF maps.
Nice. What mapping are you using? I am looking for something good for the Michigan trails. Thanks.
I use a combo of things. I look at the DNR maps on their website. I also use Polaris Ride Command. When riding, I record the ride with an app called Geo Tracker, which is what I show a few times in this video. Everything is free. I haven't broken down to buy Onyx or BobT or VvMapping or CanAm Crew's maps yet.
WOW. Props to you guys for backing off that hill and hanging in there. For a minute, it looked like you guys were doomed! ✊
It was worse than it looks on camera. I'm glad he didn't roll it.
No spare buddy?
No spare. But, I did have tire plugs, Gluetread patches, and an air compressor along for the ride.
😊 thanks
Welcome 😊
All right, I have a question about trails. From Houghton Lake what road do I take to the trailhead leading to Saint Helen Trail system? I think it’s Decker Street but I’m not sure. Please let me know.
West Branch Rd to 55 to St Helen Rd
@@ATVG OK thanks for that information. I’ll look that up now. Because I’m going up to Houghton Lake area to get on the Saint Helen Trail next month
