Very cool Train Man and Merry Christmas to you and your family
Thank you!!! I hope you had a good Christmas!
@TrainManIII yes I did thanx hope yours was awesome too did you get any trains or cars, or any train related items for Christmas?
@@daivdwalker2374 I did actually! You’ll be seeing them in a video coming soon!
Woohooo!! I know what you are asking for for Christmas! 🤣 Great video, I loved how you explained each engine!
Lionel are made in China mth premier are designed by Korea better than China
Garbage these lionel are definitely garbage..... real polar express is a mth premier pere marquette #1225 that's a real locomotive for polar express not the lionel crook design.
Could not watch with the camera constantly moving.
4:41 the horn is most likely a Gjallarhorn (think of Vikings) or an brass instrument. Like a Baritone or a Euphonium
Great video. I love mine. I didn’t know there were 7 cars, I have to see which ones I don’t order. I ordered 5 and thought I ordered them all.
@@Coreyt1976 yeah, there’s a baggage car, combine car, toy car, coach car, 20th anniversary coach car, diner car, and observation car.
I to have the first Polar Express Lionel produced. Has none of the bells or whistles, just the smoke. I’ll take it over the one shown. NO OFFENSE.
It’s a cow catcher on the front of the locomotive, not a snow plow. Maybe on the Polar Express it would be called a Carabou Catcher.
@@Kparc1212 Sorry that’s just what 7 year old me grew up calling it. I like caribou catcher though!🦌🦌
@ LOL!
I ran mine for the first time tonight, and honestly thought there was something wrong with the tender speakers. That idle buzzing noise when the train is not in motion but fully powered, seems to be in all of the new ones that people have posted videos of. They are beautiful engines, great review BTW.
i'm glad they released an o gauge polar express with a movie-accurate tender. for some reason the other one really bugged me-
I am extremely mad that lionel just skyrockets the price for these things Like couldn't they just set the price to like $500 or $400?
I understand that you're excited, but please slow down your camera movements. This will be a nice layout. Thanks...
The horn whistle that sounds like a horn you thought maby European it's a Viking sounding horn cause the original story of Santa Clause is the Vikings landed in i think Scandinavia and we're killing and stealing everything these people were a shorter in height than normal as we would say for that time period and 1 Viking felt bad or sorry for all these people in this village getting killed so 1 night he rounded a bunch of them up and said follow me and trust me I will save you so he gathered them all up and started heading north with them when the other Vikings found out the next morning when they woke up they were mad and started following the Viking and these people so the Viking had 2 keep going further and further till the Vikings finally gave up following them and the Viking with the group of people ended up in what we call the North Pole they needed homes and stuff so they walked south and gathered lumber and what they needed what I guess we call stealing and for taking things they decided 2 make things like wooden toys and stuff and delivered to the people basically saying this was their way of paying them back and that's how Santa Clause story came from sorry for the long story
Great video! I have the 10th anniversary Polar Express, and I was super curious as to what the new version of this engine would be like. Seems like they kept all the best parts and added some nice new features! Also, kudos to you for figuring out all the Cab 1 buttons. Thankfully, they use the same keys for almost every engine: 1 = increase volume. 2 = crew to dispatch / special crew talk if equipped. 3 = water fill / injectors (when moving) / random steam sound 1. 4 = volume down. 5 = shutdown / emergency stop dialog if equiped (when moving) 6 = blow down / random steam sound 2 / auxilary whistle if equipped (for example the TMCC PRR S1 has a horn). 7 = dispatch to crew / crew chatter. 8 = smoke off. 9 = smoke on. (This is just what I've learned from my TMCC and Legacy engines and should apply to most RailSounds 3, 4, 5, and RS Lite (modern legacy) equipped steam engines) Diesels are a little different, but in general, once you know one engine, you know them all. Again, awesome video, and thanks for sharing!
@@cwhall01 Thank you! It seems like you’re a real pro at this!
Very nice!
Wonderful!!
Wonderful video Wiley!!- your fav cousin Login likes bacon
@@LoganGent-z6e Thanks Logan!!!
14+ is the age Lionel sets?( I guess so given it's a legacy engine). I was servicing H.O trains at twelve. Heck, my brother was rebuilding E-units at age 10.
I too think it’s a little high, but I have a feeling it is being directed at people who don’t know a lot about these legacy level trains, like how to safely run them and how fragile they are and so on. I also think 14 is probably around the age most Lionel customers would switch between the ready to run semi scale stuff to legacy.
I can't watch you you move the camera to much. It makes me dizzy.
@@bobspeer6774 Sorry about that! I’m trying to work on it in my next videos!
I wish I had The Lionel Legacy Polar Express brand new in the original box, that would be a dream come true, its better than The original Lionel Polar Express, I love The Polar Express, its a great Christmas movie! 🚂🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🎄🎆🎇🎋🎁🎑🎅🤶🧑🎄🤩🙂☕️🏔🌇🌆🌃🌉🛤🌑🌕⭐️🌌🌠🌨🌬🌫❄️☃️⛄️🔈🔉🔊📢📣📯🔔🎼🎵🎶🎙🎚🎛🎤🎧📻🎷🪗🎸🎹🎺🎻🪕🥁🪘🪇🪈📽🎥🎞🎬📺💿📀💽💾📼📹▶️🎦👨🍳👩🍳🧑🍳👨✈️👩✈️🧑✈️🧑🎤👩🎤👨🎤❤️🩷🧡💛💚💙🩵💜🤎🖤🩶🤍💯
I really like how they placed all the switches on the top of the locomotive.
Great video!!!! Carpet pad is a great idea. Yea it does quiet it down and that's great but the hollow rails will keep it noisy. It does work great!! I'll be watching your progress!
@@bncsystemsshortline Thanks! I’m hoping when I eventually add ballast that might help a bit too, but we’ll see!
EXTREMELY sought after...incredible
Wonderful! Enjoyed the overview. Excited to pick mine up.
@@JDStucks Thanks!
Does this legacy come with any cars? I want to get it but I know it’s expensive. Are the cars a separate purchase?
@@pandamonium21inc No this engine doesn’t come with cars. There are 7 cars for separate purchase plus more from previous runs. There was a special edition set with a red Polar Express that did come with 3 cars though.
There’s no replacing an actual remote with buttons.
@@kenmunozatmmrrailroad6853 I agree, I would like to get a Cab2 but they are just so expensive now, so I might just get a cab1L remote to use with it, that way I get the quillable whistle
@ I've been using the 1L for 6 years now and it's been great.
Magnificent catches of the model train Polar Express, i like it 5 stars. Thumbs up. Keep up the perfect work, my friend, I just liked and subscribed your channel, Greetings from Portugal to the USA.
@@LisbonRailProductionsandF1 Thank you!
@TrainManIII anytine
Nice review and what legacy can do but it’s to expensive for me. But I loved the movie and I’ve gave one away. Take a look at my layout. I did subscribe to your channel What a great layout
Can you just hit the Aux 1 plus bell to scroll through all 5 instead of hitting the soft key plus 25 every time? at least that's how it's done with the Cab2 Legacy remote 🤷♂️
@@wolf_among_sheep7875 I’m not sure, I’ll try that out, it would be a lot easier if it worked like that
@TrainManIII lmk if that worked for you and if so, you're welcome.
To clarify, I have a TMCC cab and operate legacy engines with it, and wolf is correct, you don’t need to re address the engine every time. That would be a nuisance 😅
@@wolf_among_sheep7875 I tried it without addressing the engine and you’re right it works. Just aux1 and the whistle/bell button
@TrainManIII sweet, glad it worked for you.
I got mine on order. Already have the gold one from 10 years ago and just got the Plasma-coat version.
@@flyboyu777 The Plasma one looks really cool, I would love to get it one day!
That cool that you can buy the polar express by itself now
I can’t wait until the legacy set comes😊. I also have five add-on cars that are coming with it.
@@johnturcsik2906 That set looks like it will be really cool!
Still extremely disappointed they didn’t go and record sierra 3 and put her whistle in here so you can have the whistle from the movie
@@thefuriousgamer2553 I didn’t even realize they used that train for the movie, you’re right though, that would have been cool to have in the model!
@ yeah sierra three was the whistle used it was in the directors other movie back to the future 3 so I guess it was a little Easter egg but all other sounds are strictly from PM 1225
Exactly lionel are junk
they make big boy of the polar express? in 2029?
@@joeyBirskovich That would be awesome!🚂🎄
I like that polar express.Cool train and nice layout.
@@OgaugeTrainsplusslotCars Thanks!
How much you paid for this big boy?
I got it for $2600 plus shipping and tax from Trainworld, they don’t have any more 4019s but I think they still have a few of the other big boys for the same price
How much did that set you back?
@@thomasschoon9451 I got it for $2600 from Trainworld plus shipping and tax, I don’t think they’ve got any more 4019s but they do have some of the other Visionline big boys for the same price. And then I think MrMuffin has got his big boys listed at $2400 right now.
Woo! Crumpled Construction paper technique!!!
@@JDStucks Only the best! I got the idea from you! But I’ve got no hot glue so scotch tape is going to have to suffice until I finally finish it and paint it with glue.
Beautiful cars like your videos i actually like you talking explaining everything and what your thinking most train guys i watch videos are to short sometimes
@@daivdwalker2374 Thanks! Sometimes I kind of start to ramble on and on when I talk and it gets hard for people to understand me but thanks for letting me know this was good! I think I’m going to try and keep all my videos between 15 and 25 minutes so they’re not too short or long.
Hi 👋🏻. I’m new to your channel. And I’ve noticed that you’ve been using a carpet padding underneath your Lionel fast track. Is this a real game changer? for you on the echoing and Rail chatter In your running sessions.
@@dwaynemccarty8118 I actually just did a video on the carpet padding, it’s layout update 1.1. It doesn’t completely solve the issue, the trains are still loud, but it definitely does make a difference, especially when the trains are running at slower speeds.
Cool Christmas consist and wiring tips. Thanks!
Love the layout, would like to see more, but please steady that camera , it’s making me dizzy.
@@mikebifulco8978 Thanks! Sorry about that! I’m still trying to figure all of this out!
Nice layout
Hay good excellent job of getting my 2nd favorite train the Big boy. Wow awesome job. Keep on filling on my 2nd favorite train. If you can see if you can get my 3rd favorite train the Amtrak. If you get a chance. Sadly thou you can't film my 4th, and 5th favorite Conrail and Santa Fe because out of service and no longer around plus took my Santa Fe and changed the name to bnsf which is so sad 😭.
Great start. If you plan on running MTH DCS in the future, make sure to wire your layout in a star configuration, instead of common bus before you get to much farther. Tough to go back in and do it after the fact. Your TMCC/Legacy units will operate fine either way, But DCS really works best with star wiring.
Slow down on your camera movements!
WoW! That’s Incredibly Cool! I Loved it! 🫶🏻🤩❤️✨
Very nice! I came across your channel on my feed and just subscribed. I really like the design of the layout. Great viewing angles and plenty of length for running big trains. It will be cool to follow your progress. I just started a UA-cam channel, Chooch's Trains, which is dedicated to post-war/MPC-era Lionel, along with the other O gauge manufacturers from that time. My layout is under construction and it basically shows some of the methods that I use, to get things just the way I envisioned them, in the planning stage. I've only posted a few videos, at this time, but I'm hoping that it will take off, being one of the few dedicated post-war/MPC-era channels. Either way, an excellent update and video, for sure.
@@johnandrus3901 Thank you! Good luck with your channel!
