I respect Lyndon’s opinion on seeing himself as London British and not London Irish. He was brought up by his Irish born West of Ireland parents to be British. However, as usual with Johnny, he’s easily swayed. He tried to compete for Ireland during the Irish selection of the Eurovision earlier this year. He was waffling about being Irish and having strong connections etc , the usual shit that sons and daughters of Irish people ,from the film and music industry tend to do Oh, he’s right, people in Ireland will not see Londoners like John as Irish. Same with any of our first cousins who are born and bred in England … (and the Irish will try to claim them as their own eg Daniel Day Lewis ) but he can be self serving when he wants to as well . I think slade were the best band of the glam rock era and beyond . Johnny isn't being rotten at all to dave hill in any way that's just a tongue in cheek comment . John is a fantastic human being ... I wasn't a punk but loved the specials and madness . But have a great fondness for him and his beliefs

It's become a problem in large cities especially and even now...parents that do drugs in front of their kids and then the children become addicts that cannot quit because the drugs were ingrained by their superhero the parent. In our generation growing up in the 60s and 70s the same I feel about drinking/smoking. If your parents did it around you as a child It's going to be harder to quit. I remember trying to light a candy cigarette at like 4 yrs old....! But I was lucky because my parents were older and taught moderation in all things. I really believe that rehabs should consider parent contributions and have additional/extra support for those who grew up in that environment. Also not let the recovery blame the parent but leave the door open for them to get help after they see progress in the child, son, daughter... I honestly feel like John does however because someone I loved watched his Mom shooting smack when he was in the 4th grade...now they are in the nod squad which is even worse. It is sad to watch but the best thing to do is leave sometimes. We cannot feel responsible because no one can help them until they want that help.
