A project designed to simply steal vast tracks of land from native Americans. Franklin was no better than the Cromwellians of the 1600s. In fact, his land grab was orders of magnitude worse. Open knowledge of all this has come about 50 years after this catholic child torture home closed. Is that not long enough. Another 30 years! Who led the investigation??? the pope. The children not killed or molested lived sad enough lives and now there will be few or any left at the end of the 30 years to learn the rest of the story. This should be transparent so these people can heal as much as they can before they die of old age. It is clear to me the details are so sad they are willing to push the access date out to where most are dead and or forgotten. Such a disrespect! Who else was there to take care of you all? Were there people waiting in line to make sure you were clothed and fed? I was an orphan too and I know how many didn’t care a bit what happened to ya. I’m sure ya had some bad experiences - as I did - but these nuns gave up their lives to take care of a lot of ungrateful people.

This is Ireland's "holocaust" The only consolation is that no crime of this magnitude goes unnoticed or unpunished. It goes way beyond the dictates of church or state. The Universal Law of Karma will take care of all those who inflicted cruel and neglectful abuse and fail to acknowledge what happened right up to the present day. The survivors for their part must move on with their gift of life and survival and be thankful that they can now share their stories with us, have our acknowledgment of their loss and our support for their future.

I was put into a covent in manchester the convent ofvthe good shepherd in blackley i went in when i was 12 in 1969 till 1974 i was lucky compared to the convent homes in ireland one or two were horrible but the rest were lovely i got an education went home once a mont for weekends and four weeks in the summer holidays and two weeks for christmas with my family but english laws are different to ireland i hope all thise involed in this get tge justice the deserve
