AAWI ELECTION CONVENTION SPEECHES : 1st MARCH 2024

This is a recording of the campaign speeches delivered by candidates for the AAWI Elections 2024.
Thanks.
The Allahabad High Court has observed that in a particular case, if the FIR is lodged on or after July 1, 2024 (the date of commencement of 3 New Criminal Laws), for an offence committed before that date, it would be registered under the provisions of the IPC. Still, the investigation will continue as per Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS). Explanation -- This is because the substantive law at the time of the offense will apply, but the accused does not have a vested right to the old procedure.
Landlord has to file an application before the Rent Control court for eviction or civil court for recovery of possession
Video/audio freezes after 1 hr 4 mins. Any technical hitch?
Lease n licence 99yr in plot (not govt land) owners soc ,is necessary?
So informative and useful
Fruitful brainstorming. Thanks AAWI.
Is Notary allowed for Rent or Rent registration is mandatory?
As per section 55 of Maharashtra rent control act, registration is compulsory
. Tenant demanding compensation in Lakhs from landowner to return property is a joke . How will the Court help the Landlord ? .
Insightful!
Excellent discussion
Good question and an elaborate answer
Sr. Counsel Justice P.D. Naik, former Judge of Bombay High Court, has been an Icon for almost every advocate who has appeared before him. Great explanation given by him on Bharatiya Nagarik Nyaya Sanhita 2023!! He has been one of the best judges I have ever known at Bombay High Court, Mumbai. I would differ on some interpretations, particularly on S. 187 BNSS. Police Custody is available up to 60 days for investigation of offences punishable less than 10 years. Where offences are punishable with 10 years or more, police custody is available till 90 days, is my interpretation.
If the present case is in ipc and someone wants to change it to bnss what is the procedure?
It cannot be, the BNSS is prospective law.
Great initiative
