    Awesome build! Whats the electronics like for these motors? Simple or complex?

    • @guywilsonwelding
      @guywilsonwelding 14 днів тому

      Thanks, electronics is somewhat simple from what I've figured out so far. It is a cdi, but for it to run it only needs the basics to work. I'm just now finishing up mounting the forward control's then I'm gonna do a new video again where I get into the wiring.

    So I see I’m a few years late, but it looks like you ran into the same issue I did with the axle. I’m running the stock rear wheel/drum brake and the axle and axle collar won’t fit. I shaved mine down to fit inside the axle slot on the hardtail, but it feels extremely sketchy. I watched your next video where you covered what wheel you ended up going with. Nonetheless; I’m still going to run the stock wheel. Did you ever come across any other solutions to fix the axle issue?

    • @guywilsonwelding
      @guywilsonwelding Місяць тому

      Nope, once the owner decided to go with a modern wheel with a 3/4 axle I never looked back. I do remember asking a lot of people about the issue with little options. Other than having a machine shop make a new custom axle out of 4140 steel bar stock. But at that point we decided on switching to the new style billet hub. I know some people want to keep their bike era correct, but I was just done foolin with it.

      @@guywilsonwelding I don’t blame you at all. It sounds like the safest choice to switch to disc anyways.

    The shape of your triangle (cantilever) will really decide the shock ratio. Learned from my RC car. Hope it works out for you.

    • @guywilsonwelding
      @guywilsonwelding Місяць тому

      It's all done and finished on a newer video. I got the triangle the shape I needed to change directions at the angle needed and made sure the distance from center to both eye's was the same. Work's awesome.

    nicely done brother as far as the wheels what size are you running front and rear?

    • @guywilsonwelding
      @guywilsonwelding Місяць тому

      21" front, the rear wound up being a chrome 18 x 2.5" with disc brake on the finished bike. There's other videos of this bike finished on my channel. This one was still early on.

    I went with a Lowbrow bolt-on hardtail. The axle was long enough but the stock swingarm spacer was too long. It wasnt 3/4, 11/16 or 5/8, it was 17mm that i bought a spacer kit off of E-bay.Good video and i will be keeping an eye on your progress.
