I have a Ranger 481VS. As far as areas, the whole lake is honestly fishing well right now haha. Any of the bigger bays have a bunch of bait in them right now, it just depends on the day where it is. I’d pick a few big bays and fish around the points and the old creek channels until you figure out where the bait/fish are for the day. Also, keep an eye out for gulls diving on bait. The white bass fishing has been on fire and can be a lot of fun on topwater. I’d also throw some topwater and squarebills around big flats and shallow ledges right now. Lots of shad are schooling on top of them, it just seems like you have to cover some water right now to find schools of bass. Hopefully that gets you started in the right direction.

@@jakefitzpatrick5796 check out Ranger Mike on Facebook. He builds aluminum replacement locker lids and deck extensions (among other stuff) for Rangers. I’m going to go with him when I replace all my lids and reaper and get a custom insert from him as well. He does great work.

We fish quite a bit. CAST Ministries is a great club that fishes up on the north end of the lakes, I fish a Tuesday night tournament out of Moors Resort quite a bit that runs from March through October every week, we fish a lot of USA Bassin’ divisions and I’m starting to run some myself, and then there’s always some other local “big tournaments” like the Jet-A-Marina tournaments in the spring, the Murray State open tournaments, and a few others. Another club that fishes a lot is the FOCUS club. They fish more of the mid lake section of Kentucky Lake. I don’t know much club wise once you get down into TN waters though

We were fishing a tournament, they get released at the end of the day. But bass do taste pretty good 👌🏽

It’s a real fun time. It can be tough to get the distance you need at times but when the fish are up in the first trough, it can be pretty awesome!

@@tylerbefusfishing nice to see actual surf fly fishing not someone making a how to cast in the wind video when there’s no wind😂. I fish the surf or jetty’s pretty much every weekend l been bitten by the two handed surf fly rod bug. I need to go back to my 10 weight I always feel you can generate some great line speed….switch up styles easier when the winds howling… but it’s not easy with a 7 inch 3/0 fly single hand . If you’re out there for 5 hours doing that your arms get wrecked. That being said you def know what you’re doing awesome videos

@@matthew5998 11ft 2 check out Beulah opal surf or tnt exocett surf. I honestly love both I think the tnt edges it out in quality cause you know it’s USA made. Single hands work amazing but let’s be real casting a huge fly a single hand suffers. There’s times I gotta check with the two hand if the fly is still even there lol…higher grain weights a 12 weight feels like a 9 weight. You see in the video how he aggressively pulls line on his hauls that’s the only way to combat the wind cause the surf there’s always wind..with the two hander I use a integrated line one roll cast shoot some line then cast. Some prefer Skagit and running line I prefer a integrated yeah so that’s that

Haha yeah, had a pack seam break so the basket was being used to hold all the gear up on the beach. The shots were so close you almost didn’t need it though!

Some great baits that are go-to for me are a shakey head and a zoom Trick Worm, a wacky rigged and Texas rigged Senko, squarebill crank baits, and this time of year, I always have a topwater like a buzz bait or a Whopper Plopper on my deck. Those baits can cover a wide range of fishing scenarios and conditions

I fish braid to a leader on my spinning rods mostly for the easy of line control and casting distance with the braid. I use mostly fluorocarbon but there are some cases where I still will use mono like if I am throwing really small treble hook topwater that are too small to throw on a casting rod.

The lake is full of fish. You can drop the trolling motor about anywhere and throw a shakey head or ned rig and you’ll get bit. The flipping bite shallow was good for us, we also found some fish in practice around flooded timber. There’s a lot of bank grass that hold fish throughout the lake, I personally like the back half of the lake in the more shallow grass. That’s where we had most of our luck. It’s small so you can sample a bit of everything real fast.

We ended up fishing a lot of June bug and plum apple baits during the classic tournament. Your recommendation is spot on!

@NinjaOnANinja I think it’s some of both. She definitely enjoys the tournament fishing, it’s really the first competitive outlet she’s been a part of and she is hungry to win haha. Sometimes more than me tbh. Thanks for the comments and watching!
