I would do anything to have been in the class Jack Taufer said Rickson taught exclusively about this principle. This idea is everything.
Let's call this the dracula arm bar
Omg! This makes better sense! Than what my Professor was showing tonight. Gracias! I'm gonna try it. No offense to my Professor, it was a good technique. But! This one makes sense.
Exactly what I been looking for oss
One of my favourite all times.
That's a horrible Double Leg posture. That other guy could of done anything else and it would of worked too
He should teach this to conor
That was pretty slick
Is no one else bothered by them both wearing the same exact trunks? What commission allowed this?
gloves
lol
What is them having the same shorts gonna change about the fight
@@tylerwhitwokker8241 Typically they do it to make it easier for the judges to score the fight.

Can somebody explain how he dit it?

no 😎
It’s not quite a switch because of course there’s no cage in wrestling. In a traditional switch the opponent is behind you, in the starting stance that you see in high school/college wrestling, you reach behind you and throw your opposite hip through so your hips are facing the ceiling for a second and then come around behind him, if done correctly you can “switch” positions with your opponent, here he trying to do a similar motion but because his opponent head is on the side he is going he really just throwing his opponent off balance and creating a scramble and taking advantage of it, Very creative stuff.
He grabbed his leg and turned his opponents body while lifting him while also kind of sitting down to his hip which moved his opponents head toward the canvas to turn him even more since it was caught in between his legs
just go for it lad
Noice
Kesa Gatame its good for Judo cos you have only a very few seconds to scape, but in bjj doesnt work.
That's why Judos ruleset is better.
Don't teach the 'Z-lock' like this, that's incorrect and you will definitely cause many serious ACL/knee injuries as a result. You need more experience with the position and knowledge of its controls before you show such a reckless move.
Mate, Ben runs one of the most successful MMA programs in NSW. He's been a BJJ black belt longer than most guys in the gym have been alive. Wait til you've done something worthwhile before saying "you need more experience"
@@htr3941 that's cute but doesn't address anything I've said, which still stands. You also have no idea of my experience or who I am. Best not jump to conclusions when you don't know ;)

Hi guys, thanks for all the comments on this video : ) I just wanted to take a moment to quickly address a few of the more common replies. Firstly, the video was shot in about a minute for our student's first stripe white belt curriculum. It wasn't meant to be the definitive Kesa escape video but instead was to highlight some simple ideas about the position and general escaping concepts (connection, movement, breaking opponent friction etc) for our beginner students. Secondly, for those who've commented that I didn't initially bridge over my right shoulder that's because over the years I've found that to be incredibly difficult to do against strong head lifting pressure (one of the main goals of the top player). Connecting to the opponent's hip and walking laterally however forces them to move which breaks their base (connection of feet to the ground), reduces their 'relative' weight on you and relieves some of that annoying head pressure. This has generally made the bridge and roll in the other direction (and other escapes) more reliable for me and my students, hence why we teach it that way. Finally, for those who've pointed out that this wouldn't work on a bigger opponent...... I honestly can't think of a single move which when used in isolation that does??? The entire point of jiujitsu is to refine your tactics, techniques and timing to the point that when used in a mix of different escapes they all work! Anyway, all the best and I hope you're all enjoying your training as much as I am 25yr and counting : )
Lol, I would sub you 9/10 times if you try that.
Only 9/10 times? You need to work on your self confidence mate 😂
@@sbgaustralia9996 I figured the time might run out in one...🤣🤣🤣 But that is one of my favorite positions, and I'm 240lbs.
I like working half guard so I’m definitely gonna add this in
Ha
Why where the gi tho?
It's a lot of fun. Why does anyone wear any sports related clothing?
@@Spiritof_76 the gi is pajama’s
@@balooojeffersong4234 You're a goof. By the look of your language arts skills, not a very bright one either.
So that only works with 100% cooperation
not really, you just need to be quick ;) It's quite easy to pull off
I highly doubt you would make a non compliant person just fall down by pushing them with your knee
@@Judochop9 then break their posture any other way, push, pull, kick bridge whatever ;)
@@Judochop9 Think about it this way - If you're standing, and you can't move your feet, it doesn't take a lot of force for someone to push you over, correct? In the same way the opponent can't move his knees forward as person on bottom has their elbows in tight. Now add to this the fact that the average person can hip thrust 1x their weight, and an advanced person can hip thrust up to 3x their own body weight (based on 457,000 community given data points). So not only could you generate enough force to get them to post their hands, but you could generate enough force to entirely lift them off the ground. The knee in the back helps moves the point where force is being applied higher up the back and stops the opponent from leaning back therefore forcing the opponent to topple ( if the opponent is able to lean back they can keep their center of gravity over your hips and avoid falling forward). If anything making the opponent fall down is the least compliant part of this move... You have to have great timing to hit a bridge and roll, but you've got more than enough power to make their torso fall forward
@@Judochop9 if you doubt, why dont you go to a bjj, grappling or mma club and try ?
THIS EXPLAINED NOTHING
Nice
That black belt posture is horrible! Lol
No wonder why Conor’s Bjj is so bad.. he’s showing mediocre technique without focusing on how to set up and transition… You’re not getting it vs anyone good 🤷🏻♂️ The explanations aren’t very technical also.,
Top position = Missionary position. Why would you want to transition out of that so quickly?
I love this sweep.
If you hook their leg with your far leg, body lock, and bridge it's a lot easier. The battle is getting that hook
If you hook their leg just figure four and the hold down is broken.
Guiltine ? Arent u suppose to have head inside?
Yes he should have it on inside well thats what i have been taught
honestly sometimes if you hit this fast enough theres no need, but ye when you shoot in connect your forehead to their hip
Effective Wrestling isn’t singular moves, just like effective Jiu jitsu isn’t singular submissions.. that’s why most Bjj guys will never be able to have effective takedowns Using the leg to trip is bad because it stops you from being able to transition to respond to varying defenses It’s your opponents job to negate your offensive opportunities and stop you from transitioning Why would you want to do that to your self? This will only work on people with bad wrestling and you’ll get screwed vs anyone good. Cause you’re in a terrible position once they’ve defended it.. You’re on your ass 🤷🏻♂️ I usually could care less when I see bs level grappling , but I decided I should educate … dunno why
Bravo, you are edducating black belts on how to do Jiu jitsu. Do you think a bjj guy can not sweep you like 20 ways from their ass? Even if you are smashed to your back you can quickly go for a lock down sweep from half guard from that position
If you have your head on the outside like that you're going to be vulnerable to a guillotine.
Fancy name for a basic move...hahahahah. But it works!
Master fake.
Looking forward to reviewing your material when you upload it. Expecting big things 👍

@@sbgaustralia9996 you come here and we’ll roll… I’ll show you what I do.
WTF man
Todo errado.
scape fake.
Not kesa gatame. Its Makura kesagatame.
Mmmm…a properly executed Kesa it’s very very hard to escape. That looks like a low chance escape.
That technique will just not work with someone who knows how to properly execute a Kesa Gatame. The hips need to be glued to the top guy and you never want to be perpendicular when executing the escape. Also, I want you to lock your hands around me because I have a perfect submission for that occasion.
Roger Gracie killed people with this sweep lol
This won’t work on high level guys. And who uses a gi anymore lol
😂
who uses a gi? only the huge majority
