What kind of skillset or career does this roadmap lead to? My plan is to launch a tech startup and I figured learning about AI is a crucial advantage in this new age and would put me at the forefront of things. Is it an appropriate pathway for my goals or is it for a specialized skillset?

It's not about how many skills you learn, but the depth of this stuff you really know. It's over simplified.

I did data modelling for over 10 years, then went to software engineer, and now ml but using 1st principals, i.e. no libraries except numpy or pandas etc. removing psi kit learn or black box models. I absolutely love the feeling when a model gets positive results!

Of course, you only need to learn linear algebra so the requirement is to learn lie algebra approache in data science in one day. You don't really need a lot of maths. Studying linear algebra max 15 minutes for MIT students. We have the year for other people, we learn slowlier so we have much more time for hobbies, rest and others. They have a professor and spend money, we don't need. Everything is free in this world.
