How do you charge this battery no mention of swopping charger etc

I tried to buy a replacement moho over the winter. The number of dealers who were no more trustworthy than the stereotypical used car salesmen was unbelievable. Warranties are getting to be worthless.

It never ceases to amaze how the owners untrained eye can spot a leak into the van in seconds but professional dealer technicians can’t. 😡

Bought a Swift 580 2 years ago , took it in for a service, no sealant around the exterior plug socket , got damp in it now , being sorted under warranty, like most things these days , shoddy workmanship when building the van service

This is why dealers are closing, they are try to sell poor quality products at absolutely extortionate prices and then to crown it off the manufacturers nail the dealer to the floor on warranty work

Witter would put you on to your local dealer and they definitely do sell the neck separately. The fella is talking rubbish.

We bought a Bailey Unicorn Valencia in 2011 which had the ‘new’ Alutech body. Hurray, we thought, no more damp problems! Wrong! The floor developed damp! We had it repaired under warranty back at the Bailey factory but in doing so the fitters damaged some of the equipment inside the caravan (I’m assuming they had to remove all the fittings when they replaced the floor) which was really annoying. We replaced that caravan soon after with the 2015 model, the only thing wrong with that one was the roof strap which was repaired, successfully, again under warranty. We replaced this caravan with a 2022 Vigo, which, very quickly, developed damp problems under the front windows, again repaired under warranty. So it appears after all these years, the same old damp problems remain! We realise now we are gluttons for punishment!!

Sounds like they initially fobbed you off but eventually did a good job to ensure its integrity. Why Baileys alutech has so many damp to rotten floors still is a mystery as they should have identified manufacturing faults by now and got this sorted long ago. Don’t look for trouble that isn’t there or be a lot more careful with haphazard testing.

I have had two bailey caravans.a 2019 cadiz and a 2024 pheonix (both new) and both had exactly the same issue, wet floor. This is rain water running down the side of the van and getting behind the bottom skirt rail (their is a back moulding which holds the front moulding in position) this moulding is made to be removed to get acces to the low level side lights. This is a design fault which Bailey are fully aware and have done NOTHING to remedy. Water enters the floor edges and the design allows capillery action to draw water into the floor edges. I removed all moudings an siliconed tha back moulding ro the side walls (this was screwed only and NOT SEALED. I also created a 'drip strip ' pushing thin plastic between the floor and the exterior walls. I will stick my neck out and say virtually every bailey with alu-tech construction will suffer "wetfloor issues" (after heavy rain check under your floor). Could the the issue you had with your van afer repair be due to condensation, (the floor has been sealed wih some sort of bitumin finish and could be sweating)?.

I was just going to say about ryedale is my local dealer aswell I live in Hugglescote .. I was told the owner just wants to sell up .. they haven't gone into administration or anything ..the market just isn't as strong as it was

The warranty is provided by Bailey on the caravan (assume you’re talking manufacturer warranty). Any authorised service centre can pick it up and claim, doesn’t need to be the original supplying dealer.

Just stumbled across this and I think you carry to much in your van. We have a really payload (200+kg) but we still don’t carry food or clothes in the van. We car bikes on the roof of an suv

Very informative video and an upgrade I really want to do myself. Do you use the standard caravan charger to charge the battery? I'm not an electronic expert but understand lithium batteries need a different charge rate or something like that, I didn't know if the standard charger is okay or not?

Nice that it has the terminals that allow a direct swap. Good luck with the new battery, hope it will revolutionise your travels.

Glad I am not the only one that gets tong tied with the name of the group lol. Some cool looking festivals want to get Max to a few festivals soon there such a good way to spend a weekend. Used to go in a tent but bit older now so a caravan sounds like a good way to do it!!

Love seeing what you cook up in the caravan as we are vegetarian. Still wondering whether an air fryer is useful for us in the van or not (where do you keep yours, my OH complains about lack of workspace 🙄) certainly saves the gas. We can’t understand why people don’t use their on-board facilities either. Our shower is great and we have to get up so often in the night - bring of a certain age. Great tips, we do love a winter trip in the Moho. On the battery front I can recommend Ecotree lithium batteries. We have the 230ah one installed in the van.

I've got a fogstar drift 105ah battery had it 6 months has bluetooth and heater not silly money either 🎉
