REVIEW & INSTALLATION HALOVIEW BT11 CARAVAN & RV REAR-VIEW CAMERA with BLIND-SIDE DETECTION 10/04/24
Love seeing what you cook up in the caravan as we are vegetarian. Still wondering whether an air fryer is useful for us in the van or not (where do you keep yours, my OH complains about lack of workspace 🙄) certainly saves the gas. We can’t understand why people don’t use their on-board facilities either. Our shower is great and we have to get up so often in the night - bring of a certain age. Thanks for sharing your cosy weekend.
Great video and lovely to see you both. As per usual you and Andy share the same taste in beer and Jack Daniels. Glad Storm Bert didn’t hit you too hard, it was windy and rainy, in the normally sunny Weymouth 😂. Again great to catch up with you both love Kim and Andy 😊 xx
Nice video you two, laughed at the filling the wine glasses to the same amount, we do that too! 😄 Nice cook up and I do want one of the front bike racks for my van too, they look great!
Hi Chris - thanks for the kind words! - yeah, don't know about you, but that filling the wine glasses to the exact level has become an obsession! - one day I'll get one of our arguments on film! I originally used the bike rack to carry bikes, oddly enough, but then realised the caravan needed a huge counterbalance at the back (to get a nose weight of 70kg needed for the car) which then went way over it's MTPLM plus increases the chances of the pendulum affect if the wind grabs it while travelling at speed, so I no longer use it for bikes. Now I use it for steering the caravan when moving it manually - very handy for that, so I'm keeping it on. Thanks for watching.
Thanks both for taking us along with you…especially as in partnership with storm Bert. Our caravan is all undercover on the drive fully winterised but seeing your vlogette makes us want to be away in our caravan. Thanks again both Tris and Nikki 😀😀
Hi - thanks for coming! - yeah, we seem to have done a few storms in the caravan - they don't seem that bad... YET! Definitely love caravanning in the winter - I think the weather's similar to the summer, just a bit colder, mmm, maybe a bit wetter, too... and windier, and darker, apart from that exactly the same!!!
Great tips, we do love a winter trip in the Moho. On the battery front I can recommend Ecotree lithium batteries. We have the 230ah one installed in the van.
I've got a fogstar drift 105ah battery had it 6 months has bluetooth and heater not silly money either 🎉
Good tips. We learnt the hard way that grass and rain are not a good mix, especially with an awning turns into Glastonbury quite quick lol
Great tips guys. Good tip about draining the water systems if not using them, we do it every year (having forgotten one year long ago which proved a costly mistake).
Well I was going to ask if you copied our video, but then I remembered I saw yours first 😂 Great minds obviously!!
Good vlog. Great tips. Got a few of those covered. Especially the hard standing . The 7te bus does NOT like soggy grass....
Hi great tips we've got a 4x4 and still book hard standing love all season caravanning you see different colours its great. Our caravan is on our drive so put heating on . Thankyou. X
Hi, thanks for watching! - yes, I forgot to mention different colours & ambience in the local area. I'm no expert, but I would expect leaving the heating on would encourage condensation as it is formed when air hits a surface which is a different temperature. So warm air inside the van (even by just a few degrees) hits the cold caravan walls & windows and forms condensation. Best thing to do, I find, is nothing. Just make sure the caravan's floor & ceiling vents aren't blocked.
@@CaravanningwiththeMrs heating on for about 4hrs aday in this cold weather not all night. Done it in every caravan we have had over 25yrs. Same as being away. X
Top tip! Get twinkly lights! 😀 good vlog guys
Great tips and ideas for winter. We’ve covered ours over in a Specialised cover and moved all of the cushions etc to maximise ventilation, including have two windows on vent position. As we have ours on the drive we’ve this year added an oiled filled radiator to keep the inside of the caravan around 5-7 degrees during frosty/frozen periods to reduce the risk of freezing pipes etc. Also a tip off a caravan dealer UA-camr we have placed two moisture absorbers to top off the wintering of the caravan 😀😀 Thanks again for your vlogettes always great to watch Tris and Nikki
Nice video it amazing the difference they make
Thanks for sharing, very informative and something we all think about. The new seats are great and better quality than the original seating… looks great and keep us posted for the future developments/experiences with the new seating. All the best Tris
That was very interesting, new seats look really good. Thanks for sharing. I think we may have to do the same soon.
Damp can be a nightmare, you've made me think I better check mine soon too :) Good luck with it all.
Cheers, Chris, was watching you last night, too! Having fun with alpacas.
@CaravanningwiththeMrs Yes was fun but exhausting filming it all but you'll understand that 🙂
@ChrisGetsOut Yes I'm always mindful of the fact that I don't want filming and editing to become a pain or intrusive which is why they're generally quite short ATM. Bit like gambling - keep it fun or take a break!!!
@@CaravanningwiththeMrs yes agreed, you have to control youtube, not youtube control you!
Thanks for the review and update video both, enjoyed being taken along with you and seeing site and locations. Were currently at the CMAC club site at Crystal Palace near London 😀😀 Thanks again Tris and Nikki
Hi, glad you enjoyed the show!! - yes, we need to go to London, think I'll see if I can find a reasonably-priced site in or nearby now. Cheers.
They did a lot of work sorting it out ..but still there ..when we sold big Bertha the guy checked everywhere & no damp .22 year old ..Amazing .. just hope our swift caravan is good & stays good that is a 2009 model .. cheers Chris & Sammy
Hi guys & thanks for watching - I took my van to the dealers twice, they couldn't find the damp, then when I showed them photos & videos of the damp they believed me. It had been dry for a while when they looked at it.
See. --- 'Caravan leaking issues'. Vagabond Life... (bailey damp issues).
I bought a brand new Bailey Pheonix in mid January, after a night of rain about ten days later I decided to have a look under tha caravan. I was horrified to see water running OUT of the caravan through a vent and onto the drive, upon examination water was running through the front windows and either side of the pull out table and onto the floor!. Also when I looked under the floor the floor edges were wet. One of the problems is rain runs down the walls and enters the back of the skirt moulding and enters the floor edge. This moudd has two parts and the back is not sealed to the wall, hence water runs into the floor. As you say they have sealed the top of the mould but I solved this problem by sealing ALL along these edges with white electricians tape. (diall from B+Q). Also ensure all of the corner and wheel arch moulding caps are sealed. I would also recommend you to check under all of the underside of all four corners as water runs down the awning rail channel and can get into the floor!. I have had three baileys and all have had damp issues. If your caravan has alu-tech you will likely have damp floor issues so chack it out after heavy rain!.. 'IS THIS REALLY GOOD ENOUGH BAILEY'.....
Hi, wow, that sounds awful but not difficult to fix, hopefully my dealer will sort it properly next time. Yes I am checking the corners etc after it rains. You're right, it's dreadful, it's one of the biggest purchases you make and damp is a huge problem, shouldn't be that difficult to design it out.
@@CaravanningwiththeMrs Before this caravan I had a 2019 bailey cadiz, and it had exactly the same issues. It is exactly the same design, so hasn't been "re-deesigned".
Great video guys
Bailey vans are renowned for it and if you have a problem its difficult to stop. The reason I can see is a flawed system on the wall to floor joint that causes the floor to act as a sponge via capillary action of water if it gets behind any bumper or skirt. No joke when I say water could be getting in behind the wheel spat and travel along bottom rail finding its way out there. When I changed to a motorhome, I had to ditch Bailey for Swift who have a completely different way of attaching the walls to the floors so this problem shouldn't arise. Giod luck.
Thanks for the update and glad you’re both moving forwards with sorting out the issues you’ve been having with your caravan. The repairs look good and I did wonder if it was linked to the skirts not being fully sealed. Kind regards both Tris and Nikki
Glad i seen this! Was looking at buying one of these vans but not now. Thanks for this👍
Thanks for watching, unfortunately this can happen to most makes & models.
@@Kevbobster yes agree but for the money you spend on these vans and with all the issues and loops you have to go through its not something i want the stress with. Freedom vans looks like a good option.👍
D4-4 for the win! 😀
It has been confirmed Sadie, you do work with my sister . You know the saying - it’s a small world 😁. Thanks for your thoughts on our question 👍. The most we’ve paid is £49 for a CAMC premium pitch at Cayton Bay. We have stayed on a lot of excellent sites costing much less than this. For us it’s a case of balancing site costs to suit our budget. Thanks again and best regards, Rob & Gail 😀
Yes it's a very small world. Love working with Anna, such a lovely lady. 😊
Anna says the same about you Sadie 😀
Great Q&A's guys so many questions through the vlogs this month all very interesting.
I always laugh when Kevin is getting told off for making videos
Great video guys
Great questions and answers both, all the best Tris and Nikki 😀😀
Nice video guys
Can’t believe how expensive the Go Pods are! Great video!
Yes I know - also surprises me how the 2 birth versions of caravans are only slightly less expensive than the 4 birth - £1.5k in the case of the Bailey Discovery range. Bonkazz!
Lovely vlog. Some great questions. Do you have a tyre pressure monitoring system? We use tyre pal. We can monitor the pressures on the bus and also on the tow car.... ( or caravan i. Your case)
Hi, cheers, no we don't, I really don't want any more screens to look at when I'm driving.
@@CaravanningwiththeMrs no worries.
You will love Lady Margarets caravan club site. Shewsbury close. We're there Monday. X
Cheers but we're not members of the caravan club.
Hello.
You carry a lot in your caravan. We only tow with the empty water containers and electric hook up cable inside the caravsn. The battery and one gas cylinder also remain in situ. Everything else goes in the car.
Yes, I emptied it for servicing the other week & realised that perhaps I do have a lot, even though it doesn't seem like it (to me)! The bedding (two sets) and all the cushions are quite heavy when you put them altogether - plus Sadie's plastic plants she likes to have everywhere etc. I plan to weigh it again soon to make sure I'm still on top of the situation. Thanks for watching & commenting!
Hi guys very lovley food you was cooking yummy …got my taste buds going .. I do a chicken curry in the cast iron at home .. will do one when in caravan soon mmmmm all the best cheers Chris & Sammy ..
Hey I’ve just subscribed if I’m watching this right I have the Govee lights exactly the same as you and there just sitting around I was thinking of putting them in the van so if I’m watching this correct all I need todo is cut the plug off wire it to 12v and they work how they would from a house mains but if 12v I’ve subscribed and been looking every where for this please reply and great video. ❤❤❤❤
Hi thanks for watching & subscribing! - YES you're right! - they don't need the transformer, so cut that off & connect to 12v - you may have to put a slightly bigger fuse in whichever 12v circuit you wire it up to - or you could put a male cigarette lighter plug on so you can plug into the 12v. Glad you found it useful!
@@CaravanningwiththeMrs fantastic thank you does the plug switch on leds still that turns them on off and go throw modes
@@kayone8571 Sorry, I don't know what you mean.
@@CaravanningwiththeMrs there bottom on the Govee lights you can push to turn them on
@@kayone8571 Yes the buttons work to go through the modes, if that's what you mean.
Too hilly for two oldies.
For your questions. What accessory do you want to get next? What editing suite do you use?
Thanks, Mark, for the questions! - keep thinking we'll probably not get many! - mind you, need to put the video out asking for them!!!

Yes I know you do! - and they look like great fun!!! - BUT, at the campsites we stay at, your neighbour is usually only a few metres away and so wouldn't appreciate late night friviolities outside the 'van - especially with that Marley you used to have! Thanks for tuning in! spitalcaravans.co.uk/
