Barndo On Baxter Construction Update and Tour!
Josiah takes us on a walkthrough of the house today. It’s been a long time coming for us to get to this point which explains a lot less videos this pas 6-8 months or so. We’ve been going going going and we’re finally getting closer to moving into our forever home on our farm. We have more updates coming but we wanted to show you the process because we’ve gotten so many questions about what’s going on. Let us know if you’re interested in links for paint colors and light fixtures. We are blessed by the Lord to have this home and pray we can use it to bless others!

Come Forage Wild Blackberries With Me!

This was really my first go around at foraging our wild blackberries at Sweet Beulah. There are a lot more to be harvested but I got maybe the first 20-30 or so. There are a ton of first year canes that have developed throughout the property so I’m looking forward to see how many we will get next year! This food is a gift from the Lord, as blackberries are my favorite fruit. I’m thankful He giv...

I’m a little late to the game here but I decided to go ahead and just buy some starts and plant. I was getting so sad not having a garden so I thought why not? The soil isn’t amazing and neither are the starts. But we’re trying here! I planted out some tomatoes, peppers, zinnias, sweet potatoes, sunflowers, bush beans, basil, and cosmos this past week! Of you want to start- just start! #sweetbe...

Our New Goats Escaped! Introducing You to Our First Herd!
Переглядів 1798 місяців тому
We got our first goats! We have 3 alpine boys (the rat pack) and 4 Nigerian dwarfs. We primarily are using them to clear brush but potentially could decide to use some for dairy eventually. We decided to use the Premier 1 chicken electric netting and they seem like they’ve learned to respect it. Josiah, my husband, made a mobile goat structure on skids last week and it worked well as we moved t...

is it ok to add the EO when its still a liquid? (before you put it in the firdge to cool it down)
When does the products expire?
How did the Brahma roos turn out? Are they huge?
We actually had to end up going with a different hatchery because of some logistical issues. But actually our biff Orpington is WAY bigger than our Brahma. We have 4 with 32 hens and it actually has worked out nicely with their demeanors!
@sweetbeulahfarm Nice, Buff Orpingtons seems to be a favorite of everyone. We actually have Buff Rocks on order. Not popular at all so wanted to try them plus they're APA certified. Anyway, good luck with the flock.
Thanks for this. It looks very helpful. Maybe you should let it cool to room temp before you put it in the fridge. It raises the temp in the fridge and can cause a risk to other food if it is hot. Thanks again.
How long was he gone?
A little over 8 months
My daughter has been suffering from eczema since she was a baby. I've tried everything on the market I was desperate and nothing works. I feel so bad seeing her legs full of scars from her itching. I had beef tallow in the fridge a few years back using it for keto.. If I only knew then. Till yesterday, went to Whole Foods and got me a jar. Same brand Epic, it's grass fed. I used it on her directly and it made so much difference.I used some in my face and feet. And My feet are instantly hydrated, I don't see any dry skin. I'll do the whipping method. Thank you so much. Here's to healthy skin for my family and yours ❤❤
@@maricrism9249 love this! Thanks for sharing! As others have stated, it’s not a cure most likely as the root cause is probably internal. BUT it can treat the skin nonetheless! I pray she finds complete healing! ❤️
Absolutely stunning!!! I love what you guys are doing. God bless you in this journey 🙏🏻
I'm absolutely certain you meant YOU have the best view Josiah
I think you’re right 😂
Can always do it after the fact with the nook.
That’s what I said!
Be fully prepared for Gardener and Olive to throw stuff at you from upstairs lol
We already have had parachute men go over and they love it
I looooooove the stairs rail guys. Seriously. Beautiful.
Yep!!! Your future selves will greatly thabk you for the foam!!
3 coats of that poly i sent you for the top of those vanities. It'll save your butt. Do it before installing the sink
Yes last thing I want to do is ruin the vanity!!!
Natural lighting is the best!!
Make sure there's room for bucjets on the floor, and enough shelves for all the cans and whatever herbs and whatnot. You'll thanj yourself later.
I think we’re planning to leave pantry and mudroom pretty open for that type of stuff! Also the shop has a good amount of space. But yes- I’ve heard so many people talk about food storage under their beds because they don’t have other places to put it. I mean it works but I’d rather a better place for sure!
Go9d call on the butcher block for the island. Makes for great bread making
That’s what we’re envisioning! Lots of kneading dough there!
It's looking amazing. Your hard work and late nights are paying off guys
lol we are dragging right now. Josiah is getting like 4 hours of sleep a night working so late. He’s a trooper
Paint looks great guys. Good job
Read about putting lavender moisturizer or using lavender soap, on boys. It messes with their hormones (true fact). Look it up. Please beware.
Hey there! I actually addressed this concern on a previous comment. I also looked up some studies on this and wrote the findings in the comment. Thank you for the thought!
Is it necessary to add vitamin E to the balm for a longer shelf life?
I haven’t done that. BUT we also go through it pretty quickly and I only make a few batches at a time.
Eczema starts in the GUT , not in the skin.
Make sure that's a stainless steel bowl or glass...no aluminum.
You can definitely cure eczema but you have to do it internally. An elimination diet would help you determine what is causing your son’s eczema. I did the elimination diet for myself and it turns out that gluten was the culprit. Removing gluten from my diet almost immediately reversed my eczema. Topical creams like tallow balm can help the rash improve but it will come back again as long as the internal culprit is not eliminated.
I think I messed mine up. I saw a recipe with honey so I added that for its healing power on the skin. It turned out kinda sticky. I hate it. 🤦♀️
@@Teresa-xq5ut aw so sorry! I wonder if you could make another batch just double the amount and use what you have now to make it, if it would cut down on the stickiness. We’ve used honey in ours too but it was barely sticky. But we used a small amount compared to the oils and also melted it in during the beginning process
Thanks for the presentation! Have you ever thought of or used fresh lemon oil (from fresh lemon skin) as an ingredient for fragrance?
@@Zebrajellyfishphoto I haven’t! I’m sure it would smell heavenly! I’d be concerned it might mold if it isn’t extracted properly. Just something to think about!
@@sweetbeulahfarm Yes and I just learned it would need to be completely dry before including in the lotion, esp for that reason.
First time a rendered my own tallow I didn’t add anything and it had a little beefy smell which I don’t mind. I used it for cooking. The second batch I made I used baking soda. It didn’t smell beefy so I added tea tree oil and it looks great! It doesn’t have beefy smell whatsoever. And the tea tree oil smells wonderful. I loved your video. Thank you.
@@cali7150 I’m glad that you got a product that worked for you!!
The Carnivore Diet fixes or significantly improved all autoimmune and metabolic diseases. Most, if not all of them, are caused by eating plants. Please check it out.
Tallow should not smell at all if it’s rendered properly.
Love this and would only recommend for you to have consistent outcomes to weight out your volumes just once either in grams or ounces. Droppers on EO can be different so having weights is more accurate and prevents possible irregularities. All recipes should equal 100% in pct.
For everyone in the comments, please keep in mind - eczema is a symptom, but it can have many causes. For some it may be dairy, other gluten, others excess sugar, other gut microbiome imbalance. There is no one-size-fits-all answer to eczema, what works for some may not work for others!
you said that the last time you made this you added 1/2 cup of honey?!?!! Doesn't that make it sticky? Especially so much honey?
I didn’t find it to be too sticky once it was on the skin for a few minutes. I think it helps to melt it down with the oils vs putting the honey in later in the steps
I'd be more worried about ticks than snakes in that tall grass
@@jasontaylor9871 haha! Those are determined little things aren’t they?!
@@sweetbeulahfarm I used to pick them and grandma would make a blackberry cobbler out of them
This is great thx!
This was such a beautiful day. Congratulations for 6 years of true love.
I hope that isn't a flood plane. By the looks of the trees around the field it might be. That's pretty much Missouri.
The number of different varieties of apple trees astonishes me. I was in Missouri in 2011 ( for the Foxtrotter Celebration) and while we were there we visited Laura Ingalls Wilder's farm. I think they had orchards. Beautiful state!
Yes! We grew up here without any passion for gardening snd totally took advantage of it! In NC I got used to the heat and humidity and moving back here I am like, wow! There is so much beauty here that I missed growing up!
How many more trees do you guys plan to do
Ha! No idea! Looking at pears and peaches. Planning as we go if you can do that 😂
Happy belated birthday Meghan
Exactly preventative care is what doctors miss + it feels a lot like an índustry after awhile...
Do you know of this helping adults with eczema? As a child I had it & now in old age, at 71, I have it again in the places on my scalp where your little boy has it. My hair is very thick so the heat from nape of neck upwards makes it even worse. It drives me crazy! Mxxx
I think it’s a healthy skin care product EVEN if it doesn’t help get rid of your symptoms. It’s still very good for your skin overall as a moisturizer.
Love your sweet message! Not sure where you are from but welcome to Missouri. I pray you enjoy Missouri as much as I do. Blessings to you and your family!
We are actually from Missouri originally but have been on the east coast as my husband is in the Marine Corps. We are coming back and getting out!
Love this so much and the message!! I’ve been hesitant to start a garden for this very reason, but this is inspired me to start one! I’m a little late to the game but what would you recommend planting in raised beds at this time of year in NC?
My eczema and most of my family eczema is caused by oatmeal
Thank you for posting this recipe. I’m a 58-year-old man and have struggled with eczema my entire life. I made a batch of this last week and my skin showed improvement within 48 hours. As of right now this has been life-changing. You are doing God‘s work!
Love this! Thank you!
We like heirloom seeds too. Great share! Thank you for taking the time to show us.
Does it need some sort of preservative to stop .it goimg mouldy?
Never had a problem with it and I store in a mason jar at room temp
You didn’t say how to store it, seeing you have no preservatives. There are preservatives on the market that are skin safe, I’m assuming you must refrigerate this.
We haven’t had any problems keeping this at room temp. We go through it pretty quickly though. Also keeping in an air tight glass jar is helpful, as well as storing out of sunlight.
You could keep in refrigerator but I’ve found that as it gets colder (in my car as I’ve traveled) the consistency really changes
My daughter suffers from echtyosis, found bioderma good for her skin but her scalp is still dry and causes irritation and mood swings.any advice?
I actually this past few months have had horrible dry scalp. I think extreme stress and hormones with nursing and such. But I actually did put this tallow all throughout my scalp, took a wide tooth comb and really massaged my scalp, let it sit for 3 hours or so, and then washed it all out. I had very minimal dryness after when normally it is bad even right after the shower. I’ve also found just adding rosemary oil to jojoba oil with the same process works well too. You can search through this thread and see and I also believe that a lot of these issues can be solved with food and diet. It just depends what you want to do for your family and such. What you think is worth doing. There’s info on here from others as well as just researching different anti inflammatory diets. But you can for sure HELP the symptoms with tallow and oils in my experience.
@@sweetbeulahfarm Thank you
