How To Do Percentages Without a Calculator - Level 2 Functional Skills Maths
I got the same result where the original price is concerned and on the £21 with both reductions = £15.75, but I did not multiply 30 x 0.45. I simply halved the £30 (£15= 50% off). I still answered that the customer was right as £15 (-50%) is less than the price the shop is charging with both reductions (£15.75). So, their offer is not 'better than half price'.
This is the best explanation I have seen. I am an adult and struggle with maths. Thank you for explaining it so well.
6-4 = 2 not 3 this is wrong answer the maths is wrong
Embarrassingly, i am an adult. I have tried countless times to grasp maths. I hate it, but watching this video i can say i finally understand it. There is hope yet! thank you

Are you adding or subtracting
Sorry, i cannot see where in the video this is referring to. Do you have the time in the video?
10-8=2 when you add -10-8=-18.when you add.
Sorry, i cannot see where in the video this is referring to. Do you have the time in the video?
Q13, that can’t be right if we’re using approximate? I don’t understand.
I think this may be an editing error. I think when i filmed it i explained why i wasn’t going to approximate as i was just focusing on the main method, not approximation
Why did you use a calculator in the first question?
so far u are the best teacher who explained very accurately 🙏 ❤

Thank you! This has broke it down really well! Thank you
no problem! i'm glad that you found it useful
Thank you!!
Could you explain why you are multiplying by 0.75 on the last question in the video. Just a little confused. Cheers 👍
Hi! Yes of course. If you use the decimal method to find a percentage, you multiply by the decimal equivalent of the percentage you are looking for. Rather than multiplying by 0.25 to get 25% and then take that value away, i just found out what 75% was instead. Hope that makes sense.
Great video, thank you. I have always struggled with these. Got the practice questions right :)
Great explanation, i got all the practice questions right. Thank you!
