I had the same experience. I didn't like the gel or mousse. Both products are very drying. I do have the innersense I create hold gel and that gel is amazing. I do need to try out uncle funkys gel. Your hair did look very nice by the way.

But girl the transition to the next morning 😆 Overall thanks for the review and demonstration. It blows my mind how critical we are to each other when it comes to beauty particularly our hair. You'd think we would be more understanding considering our history. I don't get the point of being up in arms when a non-Black person insults type 4/type4C hair when we are nasty towards that curl pattern. People will put in time to finesse a wig but can't spend the same amount of time on the hair that grows out of their scalp... I don't get it (not talking about those who suffer from alopecia or illnesses that compromises hair growth). The amount of criticism there is towards natural hair in general (negatively critiquing girls wearing it to prom, speaking negatively about Simone Biles' and Gabby Douglas' hair, and spewing the myth that Black people who grow long hair are "unicorns" or are "mixed") tells me we still have a long way to go.

I don’t get the issue with the WP making the comment about your hair being cute. They were just trying to genuinely compliment you and yet you threw shade about them not knowing your hair wasn’t finished? How are they supposed to know your hair isn’t finished? Either way they were just trying to be polite. Sometimes we have to look at people’s intent instead of operating out a lens view of offense all the time.

Also - how is your hair in those braids? I have been going to a hair stylist, asked her after she took out my goddess braids to keep the resting braids/stretch braids large because I wanted to be able to take them down and do my hair myself, and instead she gave me small cornrows and swore that larger braids (I asked for at most 4-8, 10 if absolutely necessary) would break my hair. Based on your video...that doesn't seem to be the case lol

Robert Welsh has a great video on how to apply this foundation. A little goes a long way. I use the exact same shade right now for summer, and 40 N will be my winter shade. You have to press the applicator into the sponge only once and press the sponge on the inside of the cover, and then apply it to the face. I had all the issues you had in this video because I had too much on the applicator. Also, you have to let the foundation dry down before you add anything else, especially if you’ve put too much on.

I'm debating whether to buy sepia or baked beige. I'm medium tan and I'd love something that'd be a bit tone down. I'm worried about baked beige being too light on my lips but sepia being too bold and bright.

It looks beautiful but I suggest using either Expressions or freetress braiding hair. Also try it using less braiding hair as you feed it into your hair as you braid. This is what I did and I used most of one pack and the hair I get came with 3 bundles in one pack. I also used 1/3 of one colored bundles. A helpful tip for feeding in that I learned is it’s easier to feed end if you braid your own hair down a little bit then add in the hair on the 2 end pieces leaving the middle without the braiding hair then braid down 4 to 5 times before (make sure you stop with the piece of hair that you didn’t add hair to at first so you can add the braiding hair to that piece and the other end piece) leaving out pieces of hair. You can also use this as a way to also add in hair.😊❤ but just remember everything is a learning experience and it still came out nice for your second time braiding.

In the video you have 8N light chestnut blonde, but in the description you have 7N medium. Just trying to verify bc I want my hair like this! So beautiful!

Love your hair by the way .I would suggest using a different brand that hair is thick at the top and thin at the bottom. I've watched a video of them pre dipping hair and straightened the hair on low heat. Makes a big difference curls are more soft and natural looking . Im going to try this, but use black and gold because it works really well with curling hair .
