Low Power Output of a Kenwood T-599D Transmitter

Testing a Kenwood T-599D transmitter that I sold and shipped to Texas. Buyer said it had low power. Helped him over the phone, but to no avail. He rerutned it and I tested it. My results are documented here. I was more focused on actually testing the transmitter. Not video quality. Sorry for the bad camera shots.

lab 599 TX 500 and DIY 599 Power Amplifier, and DIY 599 Liefpo4 Battery Pack. The PA is operating on the battery, and putting out 45 watts. With 13.8 volts, the PA puts out 50 watts.

Why do hams always got to one up other hams by saying stupid stuff like I had one better
I envy you guys them nice old radios that are still working. Have you done repairs or had it been recapped at least? Or is it still all in stock condition? My father inlaw who passed away some 15 years ago left two IC-735's that was working before but both were shelved in the same number of years. Now it just turn ON and nothing. How I wish I could have it back on the air coz I can't and may never afford to buy one.
Your 735 needs new VCO caps. Not an easy job because you have to remove the soldered on shields. But easy for the right tech. 73, Jim W7RY
@@jimw7ryWow, hank you so much for the reply. I have already made an order for the caps kit from Klondike Mike's caps for the 735. I do have a little bit of electronics background. And since good techs are hard to find from where I'm at, with a little patience and my motivation to have this up and running again, I believe I can do this. @@jimw7ry If you look at my rig demonstrations, I care enough about the viewer to explain what is going on. I assume some viewers may be new to amateur radio and it is not beneath me to care about all viewers.
