Ever heard your name can be taken from the book of life? This discussion points where this erroneous idea comes from, brings clarity to the text and decisively confirms our security of salvation. One sidenote: At one stage I am referring to Hebrews 14 which is supposed to be Hebrews 10:14.

14 Freedom Sanctification Outside the Camp Hebrews 12:14

The truth about Hebrews 12:14 "..holiness without which no one will see the Lord." The word "holiness" is actually "sanctification" which is something that our Father does. Lots of supporting verses are provided in this clip making it absolutely clear that our initial sanctification is not something that we crank out. It provides a balanced perspective on our conduct as well.

The most difficult bible verse to interpret. Sin is used as an indicator between deceivers and believers. Many people battled with this verse over the centuries. What is the meaning of 1 John 3:8?

Peters letter has a lot of encouragement but then he says that "Judgment will start at the house of God". What does he mean by that? As we know that there is no condemnation or judgment for believers as Jesus paid the penalty. Please listen and enjoy.

The misrepresentation of Hebrews Chapter 6 has kept believers in fear for centuries. Today is a great day to debunk those misinterpretations. Those who advocate temporal redemption sidestep the main point (Jesus as High Priest) and rely on sub sections and parables to build their doctrine. Enjoy this clip as it finally brings an end to all doubts.

Hi Nicolas. What churches were you going to and what country and what decade? Because today most churches in the US are apostate, teaching even that sin doesn't matter and that you do not need to repent. This abomination comes from taking to its conclusion that heresy of the imputation of righteousness. I see that you also hold fast to it. Regardless how romantic it may seem to you, it is a lie. It is not found in the Scriptures. A Catholic Humanist came up with the term. Perhaps you know him - Erasmus.

Hi Nicolas. The New Testament does not condemn religion except that of the man who refuses to bridle his tongue. That condemnation of all religion is part of the gospel of the world you have picked up through modern culture. They hate Christians to meet together and especially in an organized and orderly manner. Yet Paul commended and encouraged the churches to do exactly that. In addition they organized ministry to the widows and orphans. And in the book of Jacob we find that these together with keeping oneself from the pollution in the world is religion that God our Father finds pleasing. You need to stop being a mouthpiece for the world's gospel. On this point you are off track and being used by the enemy. 26 If anyone among you thinks he is religious, and does not bridle his tongue but deceives his own heart, this one’s religion is useless. 27 Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world.

Thanks brother Nicolas - a wonderful video of teaching! I like your saying about the Father's discipline, disciplining us for the future and not the past! As I said, I went on a Freedom in Christ course and part of it was about dealing with the issue of 'forgiveness' - forgiving others, but I have found the most difficult part in my life, is forgiving myself! Although I know I am forgiven by Christ for the sins I have committed, I am constantly reminded of them and some of them appall me! I have a book called "Totally Forgiving Ourselves", by R.T. Kendall, which I haven't read yet, but must do soon! And in answer to your question: "Just how crucial is it to understand the role of the Comforter" - I think its very important, but even more important is to hear and submit to him. When Jesus prayed his prayer in the Garden of Gethsemane, crying drops of sweat and blood, he faced the contrast between his own flesh and the Will of the Father through the Spirit. The Spirit wasn't exactly comforting at that moment, but he submitted to the Father anyway. Had Jesus not understood the will of the Father through the Spirit, and then submitted to the Father's will, we today would not have Atonement, Redemption and Salvation. Yet Jesus on the cross gave his spirit into the Father's hands and Stephen at his stoning asked Jesus to 'receive his spirit'. The Holy Spirit was in control in both situations, but like the 'fore' discipline of the Father, the comfort was not for the moment, but for the future. Yet at other times, the Holy Spirit can be of great comfort, in our temporal life! When my autistic son was being prayed for, for healing, we witnessed a peace come over him. On a long journey home, he would not stop philosophising and talking about God in very deep ways - something he had never done before.....nor with understandable speech, as he was previously very hard to understand and interpret! On his return to school, all his very challenging behaviour had disappeared immediately following this prayer ministry and has never returned in the same way! All the teachers remarked about how surprised they were that he had changed! They said he is now helping other children in the class. All his grades shot up and he is now expected to progress eventually to advanced mathematics. I thank the Lord Jesus, for his grace and mercy and loving kindness! Glory to Him!

Amen, Brother. In the passage below the disciple Jesus loved reveals the commandments of the New Covenant. 1Jn 3:22 And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight. 1Jn 3:23 And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment. 1Jn 3:24 And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us. There are two different sets of commandments in the verse below. (New Covenant vs. Old Covenant) Joh 15:10 If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love. We are not come to Mount Sinai in Hebrews 12:18. We are come instead to the New Covenant church of Mount Zion and the blood in Hebrews 12:22-24. He has built us a new house out of two pieces of wood and a handful of nails. It was painted with His own blood. (John 19:30)

Thanks for the verses on the commandments. IN the beginning I was looking to see what God wants me to do. and found that the first law is to believe in Christ, because then we are recreated and we receive a new Spirit where we then live from. As we received such a great love, we then can share that love with others "as He loved us" which is the 2nd instruction. Brother here is my next video clip, I hope you will find it liberating. Brother, it was a great blessing to me, when I first realised that Jesus's teaching in John 10, was something Jesus was taking right out of Ezekiel 34, where God says in verse 15 "I myself will be the shepherd of my sheep, and I myself will make them lie down, declares the Lord GOD." and in John 10:11, Jesus says: "I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep." The passage of John 10 is taken from the passage of Ezekiel 34. In John 10:27-30, Jesus said: "Joh 10:27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. Joh 10:28 I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of *MY HAND.* Joh 10:29 My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of *THE FATHER'S HAND* Joh 10:30 *I and the Father are ONE.”* ......so whose 'HAND' is it that keeps us?

Brother Nicolas - I love the spirit that is motivating your videos - please do more of this. I believe you have a gifting in this and that many people could be touched by your videos! Can I respond to some more of your points? I absolutely agree with how you have spoken about the 'wrath of God' and those who are perfected in God's love. A believer following Christ, is definitely NOT under God's wrath. About the Blasphemy of the Holy Spirit: I found an interesting teaching on this some time ago by Dr Arnold Fruchtenbaum, a Messianic Jewish teacher, teaching the New Testament. According to Dr Fruchtenbaum, the sin of 'Blasphemy of the Holy Spirit' as mentioned by Jesus in this passage, was committed only by the generation of 1st century Jews who accused Jesus of having a demon (Beelzebub) and that the judgement of this great sin, which resulted in Jesus's crucifixion, was passed in the utter destruction of the Temple and Jerusalem and the generation of Jews who committed the sin. Dr Fruchtenbaum believes that this sin as described by Jesus in this passage, cannot be committed by people today. I mention this because it can be a great concern to people who may have felt that they cannot be forgiven if they have sworn and blasphemed against God, but I think that there are many who have blasphemed against God who were then saved.

My Brother, I loved reading your reply, and so true, people are worried about the unpardonable sin. It is interesting what you mentioned on Dr Fruchtenbaum. It makes sense as Jesus was physically there and rejected by some. For me the difference is that whoever rejects Jesus is anyway lost regardless of how big or small the sin is. Those who believe in Him is saved regardless of how big or small the sins are. God's Love, Nicolas.

Hi brother Nicolas - thank you for your wonderful video - I am so encouraged by the things you are saying! Do you mind brother, if I make comments on your points? This is how I normally respond to others on You Tube, though please be assured that everything I say in intended as a constructive contribution to your points, in brother love. What you said about Deuteronomy 6:13 and Matthew 4:10 is interesting, so I thought of exploring this. I'm doing this as part of learning together - I haven't looked into this previously, so it is interesting to me! Here is what I found, below:- King James Version: "Thou shalt fear the LORD thy God, and serve him, and shalt swear by his name." ISV: "Fear the LORD your God, serve him, and make your oaths in his name" ESV: "It is the LORD your God you shall fear. Him you shall serve and by his name you shall swear." YLT: "Jehovah thy God thou dost fear, and Him thou dost serve, and by His name thou dost swear;" Hebrew: "את־יהוה אלהיך ← תירא ➝ ואתו תעבד ובשׁמו תשׁבע" Most translations interpret it as "fear" and the Hebrew word used is "ירא" ('yare'). The "Brown Driver Briggs" definitions list the following for this word: "1) to fear, revere, be afraid 1a) (Qal) 1a1) to fear, be afraid 1a2) to stand in awe of, be awed 1a3) to fear, reverence, honour, respect 1b) (Niphal) 1b1) to be fearful, be dreadful, be feared 1b2) to cause astonishment and awe, be held in awe 1b3) to inspire reverence or godly fear or awe 1c) (Piel) to make afraid, terrify 2) to shoot, pour Part of Speech: verb" ] Brother Nicolas from my search, in the majority of cases, this word does have the connotation of 'fear' or dread....to be afraid. However in a few cases, it has the sense of "Reverence". The word "ירא" ('yare') is found in Lev 19:30, Lev 26:2, Psa 89:7, where the meaning is "Reverence" Leviticus 19:30 "Ye shall keep  my sabbaths, and reverence ["ירא" ('yare')]  my sanctuary:I am the LORD.  " Leviticus 26:2 "Ye shall keep  my sabbaths,  and reverence ["ירא" ('yare')]  my sanctuary:   I  am the LORD.  " Psalm 89:7 "God is greatly  to be feared   in the assembly of the saints,  and to be had in reverence ["ירא" ('yare')]  of  all  them that are about  him." In Matthew 4:9-10 it reads: "And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me. Mat 4:10 Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve. Mat 4:11 Then the devil leaveth him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto him." The context of these verses is that satan tried to tempt Jesus to "fall down" or bow down and worship satan! Here the active verb in Greek is "προσκυνέω" (proskyneō) - worship, so satan asked Jesus to 'proskyneō'/worship him! He didn't ask Jesus to "fear" him - clearly Jesus wasn't remotely afraid of him and it never occurred to satan that Jesus would fear him! So the context of this passage was about 'worship' instead of 'fear'. So Jesus's response to satan was about "worship" instead of "fear", since satan asked Jesus to "worship" (proskyneō) him. I think we also need to note that although Jesus was clearly quoting from Deuteronomy, he wasn't giving a word for word quotation here, because he mentions nothing in Matthew 4:10 about "swearing by his name" (name referring to YHWH) - this part is missed out entirely. I believe what Jesus is doing here is summarising the issue regarding who to worship, rather than giving a strict quotation, so that he is even to satan, "teaching" him (but for the benefit of us the hearers/readers). Strictly speaking, Jesus would never 'change' a single word of the Torah, as a devout Jew, who in fact, knew every word of it by heart. Jesus does something similar in Luke, when he went into the synagogue and read from the book of Isaiah. Instead of his reading being a simple reading of a passage, it appears to have been a teaching from it, since parts of it refer to Isaiah 61:1 and other parts to Isaiah 35 (off the top of my head) - so he was summarising the teaching from various parts of scripture. For a Jew to change even a single word of scripture, is completely anathema and no Jew changing any part of the Torah, would be accepted as a rabbi, teacher, prophet or Messiah. Jesus famously confirmed this in Matthew 5:17-18 "5:17 “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them." 5:18 "For truly, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, *not an iota, not a dot, will pass from the Law until all is accomplished."* I think what Jesus says here is that he didn't change any words in the Torah (law) and that they remain as written. Critics frequently criticise the New Testament by claiming that Jesus changed the Torah, but as above, he came to fulfil it. Rabbis today, particularly use this idea that Jesus "changed" the Torah as an excuse to claim that Jesus is 'not the Messiah'. Based on the above, Nicolas, my feeling is that Jesus was teaching from Deuteronomy 6, but not specifically giving a word for word quotation of it and that he used the word "proskyneō" (worship), because he was specifically addressing satan's request for him to "proskyneō" (worship) satan! These are my thoughts on this passage, but you may have other ideas on this.

My Brother, thanks for your reply, appreciate it and I like how you search everything in detail. I like your interpretation and logical thought looking at the verse prior, which is important and focussing on "worship". The only issue, if I may be constructive, with that interpretation is Jesus said: "it is written". That binds us to look where it comes from and whether it was changed. For me it is no issue whether Jesus uses the word "fear" and "worship" interchangeably because if you fear someone then you are under their authority and if you worship someone then you are also under their authority. I love the Jews and respect them. We know the law with many parts is their spiritual foundation for most of them (for believers it is the Christ the single Rock), and if someone changes the law, he will not be accepted. But Jesus is not just a Rabbi, He is also God (John 1:1). See we don't worship a dead teacher 2000 years ago, we worship the resurrected Christ who is alive and also alive in us, guiding us. So I have no issue should Jesus shift the interpretation, on the contrary "I love it" because as I pointed out, it turns the focus to a "warm relationship" instead of rule based dead religion. Concerning the Law, it is perfect that Jesus said nothing will ever change in the law because that law is written for the unbeliever to burn themselves out until they see they need Grace and a Saviour. So I believe people trying to fulfil the law does not respect it enough because they think they can perform it; but Believers actually respect the law as a perfect impossible standard only perfectly performed by our Saviour. Christ is the end of the law for believers as we are under Grace and guidance of the Spirit. I hope you enjoyed reading my interpretation my Brother. All the details are not written there so it is open to interpretation. God's love, Nicolas.

@@favormine I'd just clarify one small thing: In the New Testament, we frequently see the term, "law" being used. In the Greek, this is the word 'nomos'. There is no word in the Greek for Torah, except 'nomos'. When we read in Matthew 5:17-18 the word 'law', what is actually being referred to is Torah not 'law' as we understand it in English. So what Jesus is saying there is that not one word of the Torah will be changed. Where Jesus says it is written, he isn't providing a direct quote as he misses out the part about 'swearing with God' s name', but rather providing a summarised teaching from Deuteronomy, within the context of the topic worship that Satan introduced.

@@favormine Forgive me brother, I love the things you are saying and the deep spiritual motivation that is so present within you, can I just add another perspective on this: "it turns the focus to a "warm relationship" instead of rule based dead religion."? One of the reasons Jesus criticised the scribes and Pharisees so much, was that they were 'following' the law (and even adding to it!), religiously, but not in faith loving and following the heart of God. He called them hypocrites, not because they didn't know how to follow God in their hearts, sincerely, but because they DID know and DIDN'T do it! You are absolutely right about "dead religion"! But religion is "dead" if it is "in the letter of the law", only. Their religion was "dead" because they didn't love and seek the Lord with all their heart, all their strength and all their minds". The 'law' and the addition of the rabbis, teachings, had become the framework of religion that became a substitute for many, instead of seeking the Lord, like David did and like the prophets did. The Torah and Jewish religion was never intended by God to be a 'dead religion' and that is why we see Abraham honoured by Paul as being justified by faith and Moses appearing on the mount of transfiguration with Jesus. What was wrong was that Jewish religion had come to be practiced by Jews who did not understand in practice that they were expected to be bound close to God in relationship. ....instead the religion as you noted came to be a 'rules based system' in which society was hierarchically organised and controlled and a priesthood obtained a controlling and dominating power over the population! No wonder Jesus was angry in the Temple!!!

We are not come to Mount Sinai in Hebrews 12:18. We are come instead to the New Covenant church of Mount Zion and the blood in Hebrews 12:22-24. In Galatians 4:24-31 Paul refers to the "two covenants" in instructs the Galatian believers to "cast out" the Sinai Covenant of "bondage". New Covenant Whole Gospel: Let us now share the Old Testament Gospel found below with the whole world. On the road to Emmaus He said the Old Testament is about Him. He is the very Word of God in John 1:1, 14. Awaken Church to this truth. Jer 31:31 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah: Jer 31:32 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by husband unto them, saith the LORD: Jer 31:33 But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people. Jer 31:34 And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more. Is the most important genealogy in the Bible found in Matthew 1:1 (Gal. 3:16)? Is God's Son the ultimate fulfillment of Israel (John 1:49)? Why has the modern Church done a pitiful job of sharing the Gospel with modern Orthodox Jews? Why would someone tell them they are God's chosen people and then fail to share the Gospel with them? Who is the seed of the woman promised in Genesis 3:15? Who is the "son" in Psalm 2? Who is the "suffering servant" of Isaiah 53? Who would fulfill the New Covenant promised in Jeremiah 31:31-34? Who would fulfill the timeline of Daniel chapter 9 before the second temple was destroyed? Why have we not heard this simple Old Testament Gospel preached on Christian television in the United States on a regular basis? Once a person comes to understand the New Covenant promised to Israel and Judah in Jeremiah 31:31-34, which is found fulfilled by Christ during the first century in Hebrews 8:6-13, and Hebrews 10:16-18, and specifically applied to the Church in 2 Corinthians 3:6-8, and Hebrews 12:22-24, man-made Bible doctrines fall apart. Let us now learn to preach the whole Gospel until He comes back. The King of Israel is risen from the dead! (John 1:49, Acts 2:36) Watch the UA-cam videos “The New Covenant” by Bob George, and David H.J. Gay.

My dear Brother in Christ, appreciate the detail and all the scriptures, I looked them all up. You have a great handle on the New Covenant and the Gospel of Grace. And absolutely "Yes!" Jesus is our Saviour and God (John 1:1). He is The One who would come and fulfil the law and be the ultimate High Priest, Messiah and Mediator. Yes Israel was the chosen people in the old covenant, but in the New Covenant, we the Believers are the Chosen people, not that we look down on the Jews because we love and respect them. I so agree with you, why is this pure Gospel, which is actually Good News not preached. If people know that the Gospel is not a bunch of religious loads and rules; but actually freedom, eternal security and a lovely relationship, they will break down the doors of the churches to get this Good News. I started creating video clips sharing my journey how I finally found freedom from religion. It will take a few clips, as it took me 8 years of study to debunk all the erroneous interpretations that legalists use. Here is my first one, countering the wrong fear of the Lord, as Jesus changed the word "fear" to "worship", please have a look: ua-cam.com/video/VUCBjDIPPys/v-deo.html God's Love! Nicolas

Dear Brother Nicolas, in Christ, I am deeply concerned by your video! I am left wondering what kind of 'church' you were a part of ? I hear your sincere and genuine heart in what you have said. Please can you reply to me? I would love to share our love of Christ together. You are right, we are saved ONLY by the grace and love of Christ. I'm struggling to imagine what kind of things your church expected of you, instead of relying only upon Christ?? Father, I hold my brother Nicolas in faith before You now and thank you for his testimony of your grace in his life. Comfort him and fill him with your Spirit and let him know Your presence each day as he seeks you on this journey of Eternity. Amen.

Hi my beloved sister, I watched your clip and must say I love your spirit of peace which is the Spirit of our Lord - the Prince of Peace. I created voice clips and started posting on UA-cam but because it's under "Religion" my clips are not reaching people and then I thought let me tell my story as it is and maybe it will reach people who are leaving or left church/Christianity. The next few months will tell. Yes the churches I have been to were more legalistic than free in Christ. Churches may preach more law than Grace which puts burdens on people. It was best I shared my journey with the needed measure of rawness. In the old covenant the promised land was physical but in the new covenant the promised land is "Entering God's rest" as is clearly written in Hebrews 4 verse 3-5 I think. So clearly everyone who believes entered Gods rest as we don't have to perform to earn righteousness. So internally I have peace. I am planning to post clips on the unraveling of the controversial bible passages that generally keep churches and people under law. Sending you all my blessings and love in Christ. Nicolas

@@peaceinjesus5221 Hi apologies Brother, I clicked on your icon which had a clip of a female in. All good, thanks again for your concern and care. You are right there is no perfect church. It doesn't matter how imperfect we are, as long as we believe in a Savour who performed perfectly on our behalf. I must say religion creeps in very easily. See since the "Council of Trent" where a major religious group acted against the Reformation, from then on "works based religion" stays an issue. They formally declared that you can only be saved by Faith AND Works". Will chat about that later. I am happy for us to grow together. What I will do is post clips about my journey where it started and then we can discus it here. I will post my first clip by tomorrow and let you know. God's love. Nicolas

@@favormine From my understanding brother, the 'Council of Trent' was the 19th ecumenical council of the Catholic Church 1545 - 1563, in Italy....nothing much to do with the 1st century fledgling church of scriptural doctrine. The body which became the "Roman Catholic church" had long departed from a correct interpretation and practice of scripture, hundreds of years earlier, in my thoughts? You may know more about this than me, because I've never studied all the traditions of the Catholic church, though I have a book on it. Yes, I would agree with you that the Roman Catholic institution, has a works emphasis, though I don't write believers off because Christ's Kingdom is bigger than any institution and is not bound by any walls. You are of course right - "works" do not play any part in attaining salvation. We are saved by faith. That faith gives us a great love for God and as a result we desire to give him 'our all'. The "works" that we do are important to Christ as he made clear in his teachings, but they are the result of grace through faith in a loving God, who guides us, and inspires us to acts of love through Him. But as per Paul's teachings, "works" do no save us. If we are disabled and have no works, but faith in Christ, He loves us. If we have very low intelligence and cannot understand doctrine or even read, He loves us. Yes, it would be great to share together - I'm sure we probably came to Christ in different ways on different journeys. I will look forward to your clips! God bless!

@@peaceinjesus5221 My Brother, I can clearly see that you have been around the block and must have done some considerable mind renewal too. Seems you have a good handle on the true Gospel. Yes that was the time frame of the Council of Trent. I can't find the exact section but got this from Wikipedia: "Understanding the Protestant "faith alone" doctrine to be one of simple human confidence in Divine Mercy, the Council rejected the "vain confidence" of the Protestants, stating that no one can know who has received the grace of God. Furthermore, the Council affirmed-against some Protestants-that the grace of God can be forfeited through mortal sin." Which means the pressure is on the believer to perform perfectly instead of relying on the finished work of Christ. Brother here is my first clip in a planned series of my journey out of religion. Please have a look and see if we have some common ground. Please feel free to comment on the clip below: ua-cam.com/video/VUCBjDIPPys/v-deo.html God's love. Nicolas

You talk like a democrat. You provide no specifics. What is the name of the church that you don't like? Which denomination preaches legalism? I interpret the Bible differently. I like legalism. I am free from the Old Testament law. I obey God's moral law. Marriage is one-man & one-woman for a lifetime. I don't say, "In the OT, God allowed multiple wives; therefore, I can have multiple wives, now."
