Yin Yoga is a practice of time, patience, peace and tranquility. A way to induce meditation.
Staying between 2 and 10 minutes in each posture, this practice allows you to work on body tissues that are not usually reached in other yoga practices.
Connective tissues, tendons and joints, being tissues with less blood supply than muscles, need to be stretched over time to be nourished.
By observing how the body reacts while remaining in the posture, we easily enter a truly delicious meditative state.
Studies have proven that the practice of Yin yoga is very effective for states of stress, anxiety and depression, as it brings oxygen to the brain and areas of the body forgotten in other practices.
Promotes deeper and longer sleep, clarity of thoughts, presence, calm and good mood.
Yin Yoga originated in China in 1980, but is based on postures from traditional Hatha Yoga.
It is a Yoga of tranquility that is based on these principles:
- respect our limits
- find our comfortable posture
- remain in the postures for 2 to 10 minutes
- remain silent
- breathe consciously
In this class we go through 6 asanas:
- Balasana - child pose
- Shoulder twist
- Makarasana - crocodile pose
- Reclining Peugeot pose
- Abdominal Twist
- Shavasana - Corpse Pose
At the end of the practice, I propose a guided Shavasana (relaxation posture), a little Yoga Nidra to complete this class.
