The 2L variant is sold out, unfortunately. The 4L version is $20 more expensive. Would think typically the more you buy the cheaper?
Great video nice work and seems like it’s very physical work
Thanks for the heads up on this simple but effective accessory. However I think it is only fair to share details of a more than adequate "copy" available from TEMU. My second handle has just arrived and this one will be fitted to my Stihl brush cutter. The first handle was fitted to my light duty Husqvarna more as a trial and it worked a treat. The TEMU copies were priced at less than $30.00 ($29.29 to be exact). I have a long time mate who is a boiler maker by trade and he checked the welds and gave it the once over to be sure it was structurally sound. He gave me a 5 star rating. Sorry if this comment upsets the manufacturers of the Catch - Pro device but I thought that it was important that your subscribers were alerted to a potential saving of $100.00. Log in to Temu and search manual trimmer assistant handle.
Do a reduction on the wrong species and you will be looking at bare wood as it looks right now. Awful.
What is this music called?
When is the best time of the year to do this? I have a sheenas gold hedge contouring my driveway up to the front door, and it's quite overgrown - I need to drop its overall height about 20cm but then also push it back off the footpath by about 20 - 30cm as well. Being in Brisbane I suspect I should wait until we're past summer?
What blades does that cox have mate? Are they solid swing back blades? How deep do you go with the scarifier?
Was going to buy one when I brought the trimmer racks but decided not to because there is nothing stopping someone from helping themselves to some line when your not there
you need a motosierr and a barrett
Make, sure you, use a, aluminium key and press in the, bump head to get 5 metres to 2 metres of line trimming line which is a, 3.0 like a Honda 4 Stroke and, don’t forget, you need, PPE as, well so go ahead, and put it, on you before, you start your, work and, Jobs.
Nice trees you planted in their place! Can you tell me what they are please?
Hi Thank you. They are called pencil pines or Cupressus Sempervirens 'Glauca'. Grow 10-15 metres in height and approximately .5 metre wide. Have a great day.
In summer doing lawns, as well as food, I carry a container of good quality salt with me to replace what I lose via sweating. Or chuck it in the water bottle at the start of the day, electrolytes are really important for many biological functions in the body.
Thats right mate. Got to keep replacing them. Have a great day 👍 😀
soak grass clippings in water for 3 weeks. pur that (diluted) in. do that in early spring. thanks for your tips. just spent 850 quid on husq hedge trimmers. going gardening full time next spring.
No worries at all mate. I hope they have been helpful. All the best with your business. Have a great day.
Hey Ben, Ive got a murraya hedge that has been running rampant, and last time I cut it back I used hand cutters, this time i would like to invest in a hedge trimmer. Do you have any recommendations for hedge trimmers that work best on murrayas?
Hi Yes, I would go battery for a hedge trimmer. You need something with good blade speed and light/comfortable in hand. I would look at any of the battery hedge trimmers from Husqvarna, EGO and Stihl. I have heard Makita make some good hedge trimmers to. I have not personally used them, so I cannot speak for them. I have a review on the channel of the Stihl HLA 66. Long reach trimmer if you need something to reach high. That has been great.ua-cam.com/video/6py16RtDeME/v-deo.htmlsi=Rw19U7TfnN7HrAjV Hope that was helpful. Ben 😀 👍
I have the AP200 battery in my long reach hedge trimmer. How long do you reckon I will get out of this battery for this blower on one full charge?
Hi Not long as all. I would say approximately 10mins. The blower chews through battery much faster then a hedge trimmer unfortunately. Would recommend getting yourself a 300, or a couple if being used for business. Have a great day. 😀 👍
@@mowtime Thanks for the information. It would be a bit of a pricey upgrade for such short lived operation. Even with the AP 300 I would assume. I already have a 2 stroke Stihl blower.
Hey mate great vid What number did you run the Honda at for final scaple Thanks
Thanks mate. Last scalp was on 2nd lowest setting. Have a great week 😀 👍
@ thanks mate
Number 4, your mowing wet grass
Definitely. 👍 Have a great day.
That lawn has responded so well mate. Great job!
It has. Have a great day mate 😀 👍
what is a preferred topsoil type? when you get from big box store, the called "topsoil" is in too small of a bag and when you trying get large volume, it can be sand/organic composite/soil mix etc
Hi Most of the time I would not recommend getting bagged topsoil from bunnings. Depending on the landscape yard, some have a few varieties of top dressing soil. Some will have top dress and premium top dress soil. Most landscape yards will sell to you by the bag. It is a more expensive option, but of course easy to load into a car etc if you don't have access to a trailer or ute. And depends on the square meterage you are covering. If you are not cylinder mowing, I would just stick with a good quality top dress soil. Mix of sand and soil/organic matter. Hope that answered your question. Have a great day 😀 👍
Good idea there, having a second set of blade-set bolts. I hate that the $40+ blades from eGo don't include new/extra diamond-headed "carriage" bolts. Every set should come with new bolts/nuts, and maybe even that motor shaft bolt flange nut, too (that sucker tries to escape every time I change blades! it hasn't gotten away yet, but it probably will someday).
100% agree mate. have a great day 😀 👍
Well done Ben that looks like thirsty work!
It is. Lots of humidity around Brisbane at the moment after the rain showers come through. Have a great day 👍 😀
That fertiliser you used has a high amount of Nitrogen and everything I've read suggests not to use much N on Sir Grange. What is your experience? I'm new to this and my SG Zoysia was only laid a couple of weeks back. Cheers.
Hi Good question. Your research is correct. High and regular nitrogen is not good for Zoysia. I only use a higher nitrogen as part of the renovation process. For the maintenance through out the rest of the year, use fertilisers with low nitrogen (mainly liquid fert) as Zoysia does not require regular granular applications. I hope that helped to answer your question.
@@mowtime awesome! Thanks so much! Any particular products you’d recommend for regular fertiliser and maintenance of zoysia? Cheers
Hi, where did you get the long handle on your Stihl whipper snipper from?
Hi It's called the Whipper Gripper and is available at catch-pro.com.au/products/whipper-gripper-trimmer-handle. They add slight weight but help with standing up straight while whipping, decreasing lower back pain. Have a great day. 👍 😀
Saved my life.
Glad it helped mate. Have a great day 👍 😀
Awesome work mate, can't wait to see the results. Can you please let us know what height you dropped the mower to before and after scarifying? Also what depth did you go with the scarifier?
Hey mate Apologies for the slow response. Yes, that is a rotary mower. If you are doing a renovation, you will need something with power. Most battery mowers will not give you the power you need for scalping. In regards to the fertilsers, use a granular fert for the renovation process, then you can use liquids for ongoing regular maintenance. Hope that answered your question. Have a great day. Thanks Ben 👍 😀
Nice job! Do you have any tips for removing Couch contamination in Zoysia ?
Thanks. I normally use a big flat head screwdriver, find the centre and lift it up. If it's a large quantity, I am not sure there is a selective herbicide that kills couch without killing the zoysia sorry. Give the screw driver a go first. Have a great day. 👍 😀
Another thing people do is cut wet grass then whinge why it’s blocking.
haha 100%. Have a great day mate 👍 😀
Fantastisch Good work Tim you te best te famey te House te natuur te helpen best fried Top weekend 🚛🪤🚜🦺🍂🧹🧤☕️🧢🌾🌿🧋🌳🎧👍🗑
Thanks. Have a great day. 👍 😀
Great work. Considering doing this on my buffalo. How long does it take to fully fill in after a reno (I'm based in Melbourne)?
Hi Sam Thanks. Buffalo fills in pretty quickly in the growing season. Generally 2-4 weeks for full recovery, depending on shaded areas etc. Just don't allow to grow to long before the first cut. Hope that helps. Have a great day. 👍 😀
Good work mate !
Thanks mate. Hope the new Zoysia is settling in nicely. Have a great week. 👍 😀
Great work mate.Hows the cox scarifier holding up? I have one.
Hey mate Have not had any issues with it yet, apart from the rubber on the corner of the handles cracking. Great machine for the dollar value. Have a great day mate. 👍 😀
Do you clean leaves up with blower or rake? I prefer rake
Hi In this situation, I rake up the bulk, and blow afterwards. Have a great day. 😀 👍
Ahah good luck
I’m thinking the Neighbours got a Fund together & put a hit contract out on you.
Irrigation still not fixed.
Unfortunately not mate. They are on the wait list. Most irrigation installers in Brisbane are booked out 1-2 months. Will be great once its complete. I might miss it now with the tines haha. Have a great day 👍 😀
jesus get to it
Thanks for the feedback. Have a great day 👍 😀
Best bloody vid on getting started in the mowing industry learnt alot thanks ya legend Do you think for a solo gardener name…. “Bushy boys gardening services” works??? Or is it weird the boys part as im a one man show?
Hey mate Thanks. Glad you found it helpful. Congrats on the new business. I would personally not use 'boys' in the business name. You could just say 'Bushy's gardening services'. Are you just doing gardening services? If not, it could say ' Bushy's landscape services'. All the best mate. 😀 👍
Super helpful, thanks!
No worries at all. 😀
Thanks for the confirmation and advise. How do we deal with thick branches on lily pilly tempted to cut them back down and let small shoots come forth.. what do you think? Great video 👍
Hi No worries at all. Yes, you can do that. 😀 👍
i know you shouldnt have to but you could use perm marker for litre lines
Hi I have in the past, but eventually is comes off pretty quickly. Good idea though. Have a great day 😀 👍
Hey mate, are you taking on new clients for lawn renovations in Brisbane?
Hey mate Depends on your location. Send through an email of details to info@evergreenlandg.com.au. 😀 👍
can low scalping 10mm also kill some bufallow lawn ? i am scared to mow taht low although my lawn is spongy
Great question. It can if your remove all the stolens. It's a learning process. Just start mowing a small section and lowering the height each time. Check, and lower again if necessary. Hope that was helpful. Have a great day 👍 😀
best video explaining bufallo reno !
Thanks mate. Glad it was helpful. Have a great day 😀 👍
OUTSTANDING instruction, my friend. Spot on!
Thanks mate. Glad it was helpful. Have a great week.
What’s your best attack for pee spots from dogs on tiftuf? Apart from not having a dog 😅
I just taught my dog to go up the stairs in the retaining wall and pee in the wooded area up there. Just rake out the dead grass and you can either put plugs in, or seed if it’s pretty big, or just give it time to fill in. A little quick release nitrogen will take care of it in a month or so
haha sell it.... Na, unfortunately there is not much you can do, apart from training it, or following it round with a hose and watering the spot each time he/she pees. All the best mate. 👍 😀
Are they going to fully dig up that poly and re-bury it deeper?
Hey mate Ye, its booked in to get done thankfully. Have a great week 😀 👍
The 3/8 hollows are troublesome but I have good luck with both the 3/8 solid, 7/8 solid and 5/8 hollow, I have never used the Zoysia transfer tines.
Great info mate. Thanks for sharing. Have a great day 👍 😀
Mine BGA86 has just stopped today.. 😢 was running perfectly and just didn't turn on one time... hopefully just a wire loose inside..
Oh really, bummer. I have not had any issues with mine yet thankfully. Most of the time with all my battery gear, it's the battery thats at fault, not the actual tool. Hopefully the local dealer can rectify it for you. Have a great day 👍 😀
Great technique, what type of whipper snipper cord do you recommend
Hi Thanks very much. I've been using Trailblazer for about 15 years now. I have tried Stihl alternatives, but did not like them as much. Have a great day 👍 😀
Go for a swim afterwards and call out for a margarita.
haha I wish. The client does let me swim whenever i want to, i just don't have time sadly. Have a great day mate. 👍 😀
Love your videos and work. Very easy to also understand and you take your time to explain in simple language. Hopefully I’ll pick up the knowledge and apply on mine. I’ve got SWB on nature strip and Tiftuf on front and back lawns, although quite small areas. Looking forward to next steps on this lawn and the SWB
Hi Thanks very much for the kind words. Glad they are helpful. SWB and TifTuf are great varieties of grass. All the best. Thanks again. 😀 👍
