I am the original owner of a 2007 Corolla S 5-speed and still have it as of 7-2024. It doesn’t burn or leak oil. I’ve read where the older models of this engine burn oil so mine is one of the last. I change the oil myself every 5k miles. It has 140k miles now. The car is perfect nothing has ever gone wrong. I love this car it’s fun to drive. When my daughter was learning to drive this is the car she learned from. So she learned how to drive a manual at age 14. I learned at age 16. I highly recommend this car if you find one that is clean and been taken care of. 9th gen Corolla.

Are they recommended with manual transmission? They say the transmission breaks frequently.

I have the same exact car, except black leather interior. The major difference is mine has the 3.2L VR6 with the 6 speed automatic transmission. I also have the F1 style paddle shift manual option on the steering wheel, for manual control of the automatic transmission, crazy fast car! I also love my EOS! I bought it for a quick flip, that was six years ago. It’s my favorite driver in my VW collection! ❤❤❤!

Hi there, I can atest that Corollas like this with the 1zz do comsume oil, but hardly at all. I also have no oil leaks. They are very smooth cars, maybe I got lucky because the Car's lived on the eastern side of Washington its whole life.

I have this car is a 2009 EOS Luxe same color black interior. I would love more videos about this I need to fix the convertible top that cord broke on the passenger side. I have a 2008 Toyota Corolla CE with a five-speed manual, same color as this one. Like you, I love it. Fun to drive, smooth, comfortable, and a very intuitive layout of the dash panel. I could not be happier. I bought it in 2018 with 65,000 miles on it. Now in 2023 it has 113,500 and I could not be happier with it. I get upper 20's to lower 30's mpg in the city and mid to upper 30's on the freeway. A couple of times I got 40 mpg while driving 75 mph all day long. Absolutely super. I'll be driving this car for a good long while.

How does this compare to a 7th gen civic? Had one before and it was the funnest car I have driven, but sadly had valve cover issues. Now I'm thinking about this Toyota and hoping its has a similar fun factor with how it feels. But you also mentioned it has oil leaking issues. Does it have throttle by cable?

Don’t get one unless you’re mechanical minded or have extra money. Love mine but require lots of know how & upkeep . Not a trouble free car but I enjoy putting on water pumps, window regulators, timing chain tensioners & doing a crazy transmission fluid & filter change but she is a very good looking car

Looking at possibly picking up a 2007 Corolla-S 5 spd Manual. Yours almost sounds like it has a turbo at 1:35-1:38 Sad to see that beautiful old school Honda Accord totaled. I'd love to get one of those in great condition.

Max torque at 1800 RPM? VW's really love low revs somehow, if you can drive in a gear you can pretty much always accelerate as well. Makes it way easier to drive than a lot of Japanese brands for instance.

I just discovered these existed. This is the only car that has managed to tempt me away from Mercedes I cannot believe that they have not sold damn near millions of these. These are spectacular cars, a steel top convertible that when new was less than $40,000. This car is a class act And these will be true future collectibles

I have a 2004 Toyota Matrix base trim which is basically the hatchback version of this with a manual, these cars are amazing! I recently changed the manual transmission fluid after 56k miles (it has never been changed) and it feels so much nicer. Love this car for a first one!
