If you are going to look at totals then it is Lebron. If you want to look at peaks as players then it is Bird. Bird is a better shooter than Lebron from everywhere on the court and is a better rebounder and every bit as good as a passer. Remember that assists today are given out MUCH more easily than when Bird played. Today a player receiving a pass can take 2 or 3 dribbles and an assist is given??? When Bird played if there was 1 dribble = there was no assist. And Bird did not play the point guard role and Lebron does. Bird vs all forwards in his era ( PF and SF) Bird was #1 in assist per game for 8 seasons and was #2 in assists per game for 3 seasons and was once 4th in assists per game. Bird only played 12 seasons. In 1981 Finals, Bird outplayed Maxwell in 4 of the 6 games. Look at what Bird did in the final game 6 in that series in the 4th quarter to close out that Finals. Birds stats overall were much better than Maxwell. Lebron outside of 3 feet has shot 37% for his career. Lebron is a better defender but Bird is better at more things related to basketball. Bird I believe has the same blocks per game and the same steals per game as Lebron. Bird in 1983 ( when young and before injuries) finished tied for 3rd place for the DPOY award. Bird created the 50-40-90 club = did it 2 years back to back (87 and 88) and was so close in 85 and 86, that if you total Bird's stats for those 4 years = Bird averaged 50-40-90 over 4 consecutive seasons. Lebron has played 21 seasons and never had a 50-40-90 season.

Bringing back physical defense would solve all of it.

The example you show @7:22 is super stupid, since it's just highest overall scoring team with no context. You should use points per posession or points per shot attempt instead. The overall highest scoring might aswell be because of some wierd rules that year that was exploited etc. Game was just completely different back in the late 70's early 80's.

I think if refereeing changed then that would help the league more than them focusing on how many threes are taken. Defenders should be able to play defense. Refs should call offensive fouls on players who are forcing unnecessary contact with defenders. This last change might encourage more threes, but the league needs to get rid of the three second rule. Big like Embiid will be in the paint more and guards will take most of the threes.

sky should trade down with Washington (even if they have to give up their 10th pick) and the sky should get sonia citron and aneesah morrow....the sky should also plan on getting raven johnson in 2025 or 2026 whenever she declares....the sky more so needs a wing defender than a PG right now... they can address the point guard issue in 2026 (kiki rice or via free agency) or in 2027 with that outstanding guard/guard-forward class....olivia miles is awesome and considering her value and how the sky should be built in my opinion and my opinion on rookies and also how i feel about the current playmakers on the sky (chenn, angel, lindsay, moriah, kamilla) they sky will be better off using olivia or kiki franchise value (since washington needs a starting true 4 and/or a starting true PG) getting sonia and aneesah to create this 2-4 versatile wing system like new york and minnesota....they can address getting a point guard in later drafts, via free agency or after they see how things pan out with our current playmakers

I dont agree with the idea that curry changed the game, it was analytics. Harden was just as big of a part of “changing” the game, I would argue more than curry. I would say that curry is the best example of proving analytics correct and more people actually copy harden than curry. I’m not trying to hate on curry, I just don’t agree with these narratives being pushed when curry played in the nba for years and didn’t start playing like he does now until analytics came into play. They would have to trade up, but Malonga should also be on this list. Smith and the 8th pick to Golden State for their 5th pick?
