Kinda Classy Travel
Приєднався 25 вер 2017
Hi, we're Heather and Jason! We are not full time travelers, we don't live in a converted sprinter van, and we don't have a goal like visiting every country in the world ... We're just a regular husband and wife, with regular jobs, and a 'kind of' regular family. The only thing interesting about us is that we like to travel. And when we do, we want to share it with you.
A 3 Day Guide to Granada: Alhambra, Tapas, Caviar Tasting, Hammam Experience & All the Desserts!
Here’s a summary of our 3-day trip to Granada, Spain
Day 1: Tapas Tour
After checking into our rental home called "Carmen de los Moriscos" www.villaclub.com/en/vacation-rentals/spain/andalucia/granada/carmen-de-los-moriscos/812?fbclid=IwAR2RbMGykWNr-eUVzWIBIcoaZsFOyVXauQcgR1cBUN9VPy8g8fAm7JmbamI we prepared for a fun night ahead.
In the evening, we embark on a tapas tour through the historic #Albaicín neighborhood and downtown near the Alcaicería, sampling traditional Spanish #tapas at local bars while enjoying the vibrant atmosphere.
Day 2: Alhambra & Hammam Al Ándalus
We started our day with a visit to the Alhambra, exploring its stunning palaces, lush gardens, and rich history. This UNESCO World Heritage site is the highlight of Granada, offering breathtaking views of the city. Our tour was with Marta Sanchez www.pateandogranada.com/.
Next we relaxed at the #Hammam Al Ándalus, a traditional Arab bathhouse, where we enjoyed warm baths, massages, and a serene ambiance inspired by Moorish architecture. granada.hammamalandalus.com/en/
Day 3: Cloistered Nuns & Local Sweets
We spent our final day in #Granada with a unique experience: buying cookies from cloistered nuns. Visit a local convent where you can purchase these homemade treats through a rotating hatch, adding a special, mysterious touch to your culinary adventures.
For another dessert, head to Casa Ysla to try piononos, a local pastry that definitely divides people. We found it tasty, but the texture off-putting. Try at your own risk! :)
We capped the day with a quick walk through the ancient Arab baths called El Bañuelo before enjoying a bit of sunshine on the patio of our rental.
Day 4: Driving to Marbella & Stopping at Caviar Riofrio
On our way to continue our trip in Marbella, we stopped at the worlds first organic caviar farm, #Caviar Riofrio for a tour and tasting. This is an off the beaten path location that is as interesting as it is beautiful. Don't miss lunch at one of the many fish restaurants in the town of Riofrio!
This itinerary combines Granada’s historical landmarks, rich culinary traditions, and relaxing experiences, making it an unforgettable 3-day trip.

The shoulder season is a perfect time to visit for the best of all worlds: not too crowded, not too hot, and lots to see and do. We took kayaks into Manchac Swamp for a bayou tour where we saw two alligators, we had beignets at Café Du Monde, charcuterie at Bacchanal Fine Wine & Spirits, and a communal dinne...

Weather looks do good, which month u guys visitsed.
We were there in July. Other than a few thunderstorms it was great weather!
That’s my mom that’s in the pink shirt!
Just wow! What a wonderful experience. Me and my fiancé are currently planning our honeymoon and this hotel looks beautiful , all of the wildlife and nature x
It would be perfect for a honeymoon!
inasne edition~ciao~ 📢
Perfect for gringos that are not comfortable out of their comfort zone. Watch your wallets. I was extorted by a nail salon owner there.
Great video! Love the canyoning and the caves.
Thank you so much! It was a super fun location!
So geeat!
I was there 3 months ago, except for the traffic it is fantastic.
Iv stayed at the Royal Livingston Hotel it’s unbelievably fantastic 🇬🇧
Dear Heather, thank you so much for staying with us at Base Camp and even mentioning us in your lovely video! We couldn't agree more: among the most important things to see/visit in Slovenia are: Sava (or Soča) river, Bled, Postojna cave and... Base Camp :) Greetings from sLOVEnia
I hope we get to visit again someday! ❤️
Sovenija❤❤❤
Super lovely 🌹
Lima’s culinary scene is absolutely amazing, although CENTRAL restaurant is OVERRATED and overpriced, I wish bloggers would say the truth. You only need a handful of stupid tourists (not you lol 😂) to get a place to the moon famous and popular even if the place is mediocre.
I agree, I think food quality and taste was far better elsewhere, the experience at Central is what you pay for. We probably wouldn't go back, but I'm glad we went. We also went to Maido and ate from their a la carte menu (off camera) - unbelievable food at a fraction of Central's price! That being said, I think the best meal I had in Peru was ceviche from the fish market. 😀
Hi I love you 💕❤
A advise eat something before you drink spirits...
that looks scary as hell that devils pool escapade
Haha looking back on it, what were we thinking?! 😂
Wow! So amazingly beautiful!
It really is!
Yes, Venice is a "not to be missed!". Beautiful!
You run with a fun crew!
Yes we do! And we're getting together again soon for another adventure!
Peru has the best food!
It really does!
Can you tell me a little bit more about buying fruit/food and giving it to villagers along the way? Is that expected/part of the tour, or was that just something extra your group did? We're doing this MLP tour in May...
We elected to drive instead of hike to Huacauasi, so we had extra time to stop at the market and then take a walk through town in the evening. MLP is super accommodating so I'm sure if you mentioned that you're interested in that experience they will make it happen! Enjoy!
Awesome video with no frills nor attention seeking. Just good information and good times. Keep em coming ❤
Love your videos, found you via Daily Drop Lounge! Did any of you have issues with altitude sickness? We are going in March.
Only one of us had an issue - the one who didn't take the meds. Although after our hike to 14,000 ft we didn't feel like we needed them anymore. Had no problems after that.
Also we hydrated like crazy. I bought some little vitamin/hydration packs and we had several of those a day in Cusco.
Nothing to be scared of!! Even if a leopard should climb the tree next to the treehouse, it certainly isn't interested in human beings, and hyenas can't climb trees!!😂
You're right! It's hard to remember in the moment though!
Now, the question ... is it worth the 118$?
Hard to say, for just me - probably not. But our kids really wanted to do the superman zipline so it was worth it for us in that respect. In the grand scheme of things - I don't think it was the best "eco park." We did spend the whole day there and had plenty to do though. And lunch was pretty good.
Walks are the best !
Such a great memory!
the music is shit!..not adding anything !
that was awesome on foot,.... yeah buddy
Wow. May I ask what month/day this was? We are going in December first time slot in the morning. What was the process to get tickets to go back up? This video was super helpful with regards to weather expectations. Thank you!
Hi! We were there in May which is the beginning of the dry season. I'm not 100% sure but I think December might be the start of the rainy season. Definitely plan on rain but you never know! We had to buy tickets to Huayna Picchu to get back in. I think this was a possibility due to lower numbers of visitors due to covid. Regardless you will have a wonderful time! Enjoy!
Now imagine an alcoholic hooked on METAXA I have seen it . Downing that whole bottle in a day It is not for play
Yikes, for sure!
lovely mother zambia
fascinating place - well done.
Pura vida Familia
Pura Vida!
Oh yeah, everybody should do the blue lagoon. And eat the shark.
Yep! Once in a lifetime experiences! 😀
@@kindaclassytravel I was being facetious, I hope you were too.
I am Peruvian and lived super close to Central, never made it before moving to the US… it was always booked! I go back every year and hoping to be able to get a rez next time!
I hope you get a reservation! It was a once in a lifetime experience!
I AM PERUVIAN FROM LIMA I LIVE IN THE EUROPEAN UNION. OUR COUNTRY PERÚ OFFERS YOU THE BEST GASTRONOMY ALL OVER THE WORLD , FROM THE COAST PACIFIC OCEAN, THE ANDES AND THE AMAZONAS .
So so good! You are right!
Thanks for the videos. Who did you guys book with for the Lares Trek to Machu Picchu? Why did you choose Lares Trail instead of the salkantay or classic inca trail? I think not staying in camps for few nights would be what i prefer 🙂 can you share with me the guides you guys used in Peru please. thanks.
Hi! Thanks for watching! We used Mountain Lodges of Peru. We chose the Lares Trek because we were a large group with some people who were interested in hiking and others who were not and we wanted options. I can wholeheartedly say that going with Mountain Lodges is an excellent choice. It was expensive, but I would do it again in a heartbeat. Definitely watch our Lares/Mountain Lodges video and our Machu Picchu video it will give you a good idea of the experience. Enjoy! You won't regret it. Peruvian landscape, food, and especially the people --best in the world.
We 100% safe, she like “BS” but he’s actually right
Hahaha! I know now that we were probably totally safe but I definitely didn't feel that at the time!
Africa is the greatest. I lived with my now husband in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe - across the border from Zambia & it's hard to believe how amazing the people, animals & beauty is there. It's soooo beautiful, after (8) long years of waiting, we'll be moving back & I truly can't wait. There is NO place like Africa. (fyi: I'm a white American & am safer there than here in many places, with the exception of the wildlife which can be very dangerous, but soooo awesome to watch).
Ahhh so magical and so much to explore! We can't wait to return!
Del Perú para el mundo con sentimiento profundo. La Comida Peruana es Todo un Orgasmo para tu Paladar.

Inca Cola is great, it's almost like bubble gum flavor!
Haha it wasn't my favorite but it wasn't bad. Definitely tastes like bubble gum!

Wow...Perú.....Peruvian food 😋...mmm
So so good! We can't wait to go back!
Awesome views scenic as hell , what Wonderful place to explore!
Glad you enjoyed it!
I love The Red Door for drinks and good seafood. It’s equally as good as Pangas, but the service and being less crowded makes it one of my favorite seafood restaurants
Good to know others felt the same! Thanks for watching!
