- After a fabulous journey with Mountain Lodges of Peru, and a luxurious night at the Inkaterra Machu Picchu Pueblo Hotel, we finally made it to Machu Picchu... except we couldn't see anything. The rain and a wall of clouds seemingly ruined the pinnacle of our trip. However, a little determination goes a long way and we made the best of our day - in more way than one.
Wow, the determination to see MachuPicchu again was in one word - *Fantastic*
Awww thanks Carlos! It was worth it!

I hope you can visit! It was magical.
🧐🤩🇵🇪❤️
It was a double trip to the Macchupicchu mountains, but finally you got it. And you have a great mood to overcome the inconveniences that're in your way, to have a wonderful time at Cuzco.
Greetings.
Thanks so much!
Oh gosh you guys in those ponchos were cracking me up!! I’m so glad this had a happy ending and that you got to see Matchu Picchu (at least until your train caught on fire 🫠)! Matchu Picchu is my last of the new seven wonders and my expectations are so high I would have been heart broken too if I missed it (and I may still be-we will see since we are going at the start of rainy season in November 😅)
If you can, get tickets for mid-morning or later.
Great video. Definitely Peru is beautiful
Thank you! It is!
Me sorprendieron, no parece gringos si no latinos, alegres divertidos genial
Hahaha! I can not think of a better compliment. Thank you!
¡Jajaja! No se me ocurre mejor cumplido. ¡Gracias!
Wow. May I ask what month/day this was? We are going in December first time slot in the morning. What was the process to get tickets to go back up? This video was super helpful with regards to weather expectations. Thank you!
Hi! We were there in May which is the beginning of the dry season. I'm not 100% sure but I think December might be the start of the rainy season. Definitely plan on rain but you never know! We had to buy tickets to Huayna Picchu to get back in. I think this was a possibility due to lower numbers of visitors due to covid. Regardless you will have a wonderful time! Enjoy!
Love your videos, found you via Daily Drop Lounge! Did any of you have issues with altitude sickness? We are going in March.
Only one of us had an issue - the one who didn't take the meds. Although after our hike to 14,000 ft we didn't feel like we needed them anymore. Had no problems after that.
Also we hydrated like crazy. I bought some little vitamin/hydration packs and we had several of those a day in Cusco.
💪🇵🇪
El chupacabra 🐕😄😄😄😄
haha!!!
W❤️W! That’s Awesome! Cheers for more exciting and incredible globetrotting adventures! 🥂❤️✨
Thanks Juan!
Did you buy machu picchu ticket online and if yes how ,if you reavice it ?Is the b ooking number enough?
Actually our guide with the tour company bought them for us so I am not sure. I do know he printed something out for each of us which we used to get in the gate.
Can you please share your tour company details? Thank you!
Sure! www.mountainlodgesofperu.com/
What circuit/route did you take? and how long did it take you to get to the top?
If you mean at the Machu Picchu site itself, I believe we took the main/traditional circuit which is a left once you get through the main gates then up many switchbacks to the main viewing platform. If you look at the map on this website: www.machutravelperu.com/blog/machu-picchu-map I think we were on the red path, which turns into the blue path. I think it took roughly 20 minutes to get to the top. Hope that helps!
