I started searching for this truck in 7th grade, on the last day of 8th grade i got my first real lead. i found it in a scrapyard in 2019, then i purchased it in 2020. This truck originally served Long Hill Fire Dept of Trumbull CT as Engine 206, Then Wayne Township PA as engine 10-2, Then Citizens Hose Co of South Renovo PA, then sold to scrap. Hope you enjoy this video!! Tik Tok: 55cadillacja...

Yep that rare OBS they only made about 600k of them in 97 lol.
@@FordFan01 mines not a normal one. Not an F350;)
@@jacksgarage9835 F-Super Dutys were the backbone of thousands of fleets. Idk were you are but these trucks are pretty common especially for sale because no one makes quality parts to support them.

nice truck man keep us updated
The 6.0 power stroke is infamous for being one of the worst diesel engines put in a pickup in the last 40 years. So bad, that Ford considered ending diesel production in pickups for a few years in order to regroup and come out with a new engine. This is why the 6.4PS was rushed out with it's issues. And here you are, "tHeY'rE OvErAtEd" sounding like a dude with a 6.0 knocked up your crush. 6.0 trucks got somewhat popular because they were $10k cheaper than any other diesel on the used market because everyone knew they were trash, but could be bulletproofed and juiced up a little bit for cheaper than purchase price of an equivalent condition stock 7.3 or 5.9 or Duramax. The stock 6.0 really wasn't that bad once the casting issues were fixed and head bolts were figured out, but the damage to the engine's name was done and nobody wanted them after hearing countless stories of the engines blowing apart at under 50k miles.
four realllllllll i still like duramax tho
Update on the fire engine
That truck here in California it’s about 13000 dollars you got a hell of a deal
Nice truck
Nice truck man. Gotta love them ol 7.3s! New subscriber. And yes, you definitely got a killer deal on that truck. Wow. $1,800 for a crew cab 97 F-350 7.3 Powerstroke?? I have never heard of anything like it 😂
Rare that it still runs
Whats rare is your mom let you on the internet.
I’ll keep my 97 7.3. Never breaks down. No emissions.. about 400 hp as it sits now. I’m 37 and it will still be running when I die.
Daves shop in Utah builds the 7.3, makes them monsters and dos ALL the right stuff to them . Upgrade to them.A 600HP by the time he's done. These are the Better engines with the special slugs, rods, Cam, and Banks upgrades. Yes , THOSE are the only way to go.
@@yafois988 ya I don’t have 15k to drop into the truck in bidens economy…. Got 5k in buying my truck. And another 5 k in new and performance parts
@@hondaxl250k0 Yes the ole “limiter” there. I think a new punched out 7.2 has got to be at least $15K , If its not damaged needing repairs part rebuild, , and Banks pieces add another 7-9K likely.
Well being I do all my own work. And some machining.. cut that price way down. But ya. Cool fact. On the 97 it has forged rods. If you stay under 500 hp. And don’t beat the piss out of it.. it will last along time .. also. Either BAD.. no no. Never use that shit
@@yafois988 banks 7.3 stuff has come way down. I can fully build my stock turbo for 500$. Diff cover only 350. Trans command 250. You can do a lot for under 2k. Hydra tuner 370 with basic tunes.
Pretty cool truck man, can’t wait to see content on this
got a great deal
great video
This guy is not really saying anything good only thing you say he loves his 64 and Just Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah wasting time...
Huh? My 6.0 goes into high idel when cold to. 🙄
No one wants a 6.4 🙄 they are a bitch to work on, the outside is the best looking truck with still looking modern. But if you "need" a diesel like its attended then a 24v cummins will do. 😊
7.3 will out last that junk of 24v
After reviewing some of the first few threads of these comments, congratulations if your 6.4 has lasted. As someone who religiously changes the oil, fuel filters, etc. and pays attention to the needed maintenance, these 6.4s are most likely a money pit and done after 150k miles. I almost got 150k miles but was able to trade in and purchase a new 2019 6.7 truck. Very few problems on the 6.7 that are reasonable to do on my own and most likely the case if you get a 2015 and up diesel from any of the major motor companies. I really liked the 6.4 but the cost was nearly double or more the value as well as being out a truck for a longer period of time that was not ideal for owning a diesel that should be incredibly reliable. Another thing to consider is because this was only in production for only 2 years while Ford Motor Company was in their dispute with Internation Motors. The 6.4 was a compromise towards the 6.0 and parts from Ford are difficult to find as I understand it that Ford does not have to produce parts for a model after 10 years. Those were problems I struggled with but I did love the body style, interior, and performance while it worked. Just some things to consider and if your in for a truck that will last you many, many years rather than to own many countless rigs like this guy, I would recommend anything diesel from a 2015 and up but do your research to find out what's best for you. Reply 1 reply . Thank goodness for the warranty that covered the repairs
263k miles on my tuned/deleted 6.4 👌🏾
I love my king ranch 6.4
Why do a lot of people rag on the 6.4? I just got a truck from an auction and it’s a 2008 Ford F350 XLT mega cab with a flatbed on it, dual rear wheels, gooseneck setup in the back, factory duel fuel tanks, integrated trailer break controls from ford, it has a 6.4 in it that’s been deleted, I’m not sure if it was ever tuned but by the way it handles and sounds it definitely has something done to it. I don’t know much about diesels I will be honest this is my first one ever but I have always been a fan of them. This truck was hit in the front but not too bad where it is a total loss, I’m currently rebuilding it now actually. The truck has currently over 200k on it but after hearing and seeing all these peoples comments I’m worried it will be a ticking time bomb. I purchased the truck with intentions on using for my farm and the previous owner must have did too because I found multiple receipts for crop stuff in it, there were hay bails in it at one time so this truck definitely was used but now that it’s my possession I don’t know what to do 😅 I guess what I am saying is since you own one how would I tell if this truck has or ever had a tune in it? Thanks
if it is deleted it has to be tuned so it will run. the truck won’t run without the emissions hooked up so you have to have a tune on it to disable all the emissions and allow it to run
@@Rj-to8qm Thank you for the reply, and that makes sense but how would I be able to tell what tune is on it? Like stock tune, fuel saver, or anything else you know. Is there something I can buy and hook it up to the OBD port just to read it and tell me? I see all these things online but I don’t know which one is what I need. Thanks for the help!
6.4 cost less to repair than 6.7, fuel system is 7-8 grand on 6.7sand the 6.4 fuel system is best ever made
When it comes to that junk engine I guess I would prefer the 6.0 powerstroke over the 6 .4
Dayummmm at that tip
Can definitely hear a manifold leak P.S. I love the sound of my turbo spooling up. And yes I love it. Deleted never raced tuned for towing.
What oil weight does 6.4 likes ? And how many quarts of oil it holds ?
15-40W 15 QTS DOING MY 2010 F350 LARIET CREW DRW THIS WEEK
like wise, i've had the 7.0 now am at 6.0 both were rowdy free breather, and going back to a 6.4 instead of the 6.7 now i know how to get around 6.4 , i wanna prove nay sayers wrong. i have a couple of buddies surpass 300k mark in their 6.4 all safety preventive maintenance are done to them pushing over 1k torque not for racing but for the joy of having those neighbors averaging great mpg those thanos beast lol
You smell like wee , it's in the grey , just for the record it's a international block 😅
how many miles is on your 6.4? didnt hear u say?
I'm looking to get a 6.4 im just trying to see what i need to do to make it last long.
Don't buy one, thats how you make it last long lol
EASY DELETE EVERYTHING EPA DPF/ EGR/ EGR COOLERS AND TUNE MINI MAXX FOR ME
With them it's all good til it aint good. Rather make the money last long. However, I'd take a cheap 6.4 even non running if it were rust free because I can have the motor done up for the price of a fuel system alone on the newer diesels!
You absolutely want to delete all emissions which could be a problem if you're in an inspection state. Run aftermarket exhaust and tune it. Keep all of your filters and fluids changed on time or early with the right filter and quality fluid. Install a Fass fuel system or an AirDog. Run the very best batteries with highest cold cranking amps ya can get
177k delete tuned oil change 3 to 4k.. change fuel filters . Fuel cleaners . Lucas oil additive. Tested My oil cap does not float off and no smoke blowby.
I just feel sorry for the people who are so in love with the 6.4-6.0. They just completely ignore the fact that they’re lemon motors Ford regrets putting out. The motors by Navistar were literally mistakes that should’ve never been made.
Don't feel sorry. Some of us know how to work on them instead of crying about them on the Internet. I'd bet you've never had one. I trust my early 04 6.0 just as much as my late 03 7.3. Makes more power, better trans, better fuel efficiency, and just an all round better truck in every single way other than labor and reliability. Never a problem with my 6.0, early aluminum round style pump is original. Original injectors. Original transmission. All at 197k miles. Big tunes, always gets it's maintenance on time. Heui for life over here. 😂
@@georgesrisomsak9650 You sound brainwashed man. It’s actually really sad that your experience owning a pickup is having problems with labor and reliability and you’re fine with it. Literally two of the things that would make a normal man walk away when buying a vehicle. You people completely ignore it, take all the issues and let your trucks sit in shops for months. Then you get on the internet and tell other people they don’t own them and don’t know how to work on them. Newsflash buddy. I don’t want one! I’ve owned my Cummins for years, work on it myself when needed and have never had a single check engine light. That’s my experience owning a truck. It’s not supposed to be constant chaos. Snap out of it.
the 6.0's were atleast able to save on money with bulletproofing for WAY less cheaper than the stuff that goes into a 6.4, the 6.4 is a big money pit and can be a good motor if treated right but they still will have their gremlins. the 6.0 bulletproofed or the 6.7 would be my choice personally.
@@georgesrisomsak9650 I’m just stating facts here man not crying about anything. When Ford makes their diesel motors in house they’re nice and reliable, and when they had them made at Navistar (6.0-6.4) they were terribly designed. End of story. People get screwed over constantly buying 6.4s and 6.0s. There’s hundreds of UA-cam videos pointing out the major flaws and constant unreliability. I’ve owned a 4th gen Cummins for almost 5 years without as much as a check engine light. Quick and easy routine maintenance and you have nothing to worry about. That’s how a truck should be. 👍
@@georgesrisomsak9650 I love how you said it’s a better truck in every single way besides “labor and reliability.” Labor and reliability are two of the most important things to look for when choosing what vehicle and powertrain setup to buy. 🤦♂️
What exact lift do u have
I tuned and deleted my 6.4 , 211k miles never had an issue, tons of torque and hp. Beast at towing. Id definitely take a 6.4 over any powerstroke.
Congratulations you’re literally 1 in 5,000,000 people to buy a 6.4 and have “no issues.”
@PSIorDIE more like I'm 1 in 5,000,000 people who actually knows how to maintain a 6.4.
@@Illsayanythingno. I hear it a lot. Just not as much as the other engines
@@Freshprankstv1Why you lying to yourself? Lmao.
Most people that like the 6.4’s like em because they are throwaways. They are a BLAST with a simple Delete and good Tune. But one they pop….. they are literally paperweights. But hey for 10-14k you can have ALOT of Fun.
Can own a 3rd gen Cummins for the same price, and it will actually run. You don't need engine replacements every 30k miles either. Or go buy a half ton gasser chevy and toss a procharger on it. I love underdogs too, just not with my own wallet. If a guy has a lift in his garage and can pull cabs, then have at it! Shitty thing about the 6.4 is the 2 year production, so it's expensive to buy a used long block.
Love the 08-10 trucks. Best bodystyle, love the interior, the sequential turbo setup was a very cool idea, make tons of power. But man, theyre annoying to work on (carpal tunnel city), theyre more expensive than a 6.7 to repair, and i feel bad for every customer we’ve had to put engines in for because they buy these trucks to run their business and it nearly bankrupts them. The ones that make it to high miles are the exception, not the rule. 6.0s for the most part you can get them to a reliability of a 7.3 relatively easily and make power. Theres no 6.4 i could set up and promise that it wont do something stupid thats out of my hands like the other engines without easily spending more than the trucks worth. Thats just my .02
Please get into UA-cam alot. I miss your videos on TT. But I left TT because of stupid BS.
I’ll try my best to make some content
@@jacksgarage9835 The 6.4 is a horrible idea
I don’t care how they sound, sounds like a pile of crap
Do you know the fucked up thing about this video the 64 is probably the worst power stroke in the power stroke industry, the bottom in will not hold up with the fuck on the son of a bitch you go about 100,000 miles and it’s spitting a fucking rod get a life and get a better truck and get rid of that gay ass lift
You actually call this a “build”? 😂 You put a couple grand into it and it’s literally a POS. You literally know absolutely nothing about this truck.. all you care about is your gay ass lift and your bald ass cheap tires 😂
This was the dumbest shit I’ve ever seen..
Why did you get rid of the red 350?
Had some issues…
Glad to see you back :-)
How much did this firetruck cost you to initially buy? Did you need to get a separate commercial DL to be able to drive this?
You MUST get rid of that terrible mechanical "siren whirligig" and replace it with a REAL mechanical siren - - A Federal Q. "It ain't a fire truck without a Q".
I know what that feeling is like. I bought my first fire truck right out of high school. That's an awesome project you got so keep up the good work!
What a truck you got there! Do you know what model of Allison is in it? If possible, can you please do a super long driving video of this truck? Make sure there is plenty of takeoffs, runs through all the gears, cruising, and jaking. Please leave the video uncut. Please let me know ASAP.
If I had to guess it might have an Allison HD-740
