Former Poet Laureate and Pulitzer Prize-winning author and poet Tracy K. Smith spoke about her new book 'To Free the Captives: A Plea for the American Soul', a self-examination study on memory, family, and history, exploring how we might come together to a new view of our shared past, with Montclair author Dionne Ford.
This talk was presented in person on Thursday, November 16 2023 as a special presentation by Succeed2gether's Montclair Literary Festival. The festival is a fundraiser for Montclair-based non-profit Succeed2gether, which offers free one-on-one after-school tutoring and enrichment classes to low-income families in Montclair and Essex County, NJ.
