Im assuming you're in the Springfield Missouri area as well. I been hearing a lot of people catching gizzards shad out there at Bagnell Dam with a cast net. Watching your video really helps me out. I didn't want to drive 2 hours away to stock up some bait for striper, but no choice. I found a spot here locally in Springfield with gizzards, but it's hit and miss.
@@choucha5230 I have fished the Springfield Missouri area but I live in the Saint Louis area. Thanks for watching!
If you are gonna release em why wait so long just letting them lay in boat and keep one of those be enough nuggets for month
They were out of the water for less than 10 mins. I just pulled them out of the livewell and set them on the floor. Catfish are very resilient. My freezer is packed full of fish and deer so I don’t need to keep everything I catch.
Looking great!!!!! Cant wait!!!!! Best of the best!!!!
💯
Looking real good Ben!! I may need to turn a new leaf in fishing!!
@@tdflooringtd Thank you!
Man, I really appreciate this video!!! Thank you and I am a subscriber now! Will probably be asking for some tips in near future
Welcome aboard! Thank you for your support!
Can i go fishing with you need more fish in my freezer
Iv got a long line of people asking the same😬
Thought you was only supposed to use three poles at a time
In Missouri you can use more than 3 as long as they are labeled. All mine are labeled. Says it right in the regulations 👍🏻
How big of holes did u drill in the spray pipe? And how much was the 2500gph pump at harbor freight?
There’s a link in the description for the pump. I paid $90.00 for it. I drilled 3/8” holes in the pipe.
Hi dude! Nice job I would suggest you to add a skimmer! 👍
Thank you!
Great video!!
Thank you!
You near KC Or STL? The Middle?
Near STL
That is one amazing fish!
Thank you💪🏼
What was the complete setup on that pb monster fish? can’t seem to find, “Anglersich” fishing rods
Those were just rods we were sampling. We haven’t launched yet but are getting close. You can find us on Facebook for updates. You can also find the owner Ben Lamkins on Facebook for updates.
Super nice build! That’s a great job
Thank you!
@@anglersitch you are welcome!
Thanks for the tips!
You’re welcome!
How long will that last in the freezer
I’m sure if it’s sealed good it will last a year or so but with catfish preferring the freshest baits possible, I would recommend using it asap for best results.
Bagnell fish there all the time
It’s a cool place!
How often do you change the filter material?
I try not to. I don’t want to loose the beneficial bacteria that grows on it. I’m over two months now and havnt touched it.
Awesome
It sure was!
❤😮 beautiful fish 😊 wow awesome thanks ❤
Thanks for watching!
Excellent! My favorite lake to fish for striper and you are correct about them being the best fighting fish.
They love peeling that drag! Thanks for watching!
@@anglersitch heck yeah! Got you subbed now. Looking forward to watching more.
Subbed you back! Thank you!
@@anglersitch much appreciated !
Great video, thanks
You’re welcome!
How do you like to keep your water cool during mid summer? I throw frozen milk jugs of water in mine, wondering if there isnt an easier solution
That’s pretty much what I do for now. There are guys that rig up an old chest freezer and have the water run through it to be cooled. I might do that some day.
I was down there a month ago fishing that same spot. Lou at Hummingbird Hideaway is great. He's full of info. We caught a ton of whites, stripers, hybrids, walleye, and largemouth, smallmouth, and spotted bass. It was a blast.
That’s the same place we stayed at. Lou is awesome! Sad that he’s selling it. Won’t be the same without him. I learned a lot from him
@@anglersitch yeah that's a shame. I learned a lot from him too. I didn't know people use jigging spoons as top water, but apparently that is a thing. He showed us how he does it and sure enough it was working. Never even heard of using them that way before.
Can you take me? Do you guide? I LOVE to catfish, and so does my 11 yr old son.
Sorry I don’t guide. I don’t have my captain’s license but maybe some day🙂🎣
I'm not far from Rend Lake! Great day with the girls, nothing better!
They are a handful sometimes😁 but they love to fish!
What a great day of fishing, thanks for taking me along!
Glad you enjoyed it!
awesome!!!! i need those baits as well!! great way of catching baits.
Thanks for watching!
Very nice build! I built one almost the same. My bio filter is a plastic 55 gal drum. My tank is outside. I have 7 sunfish in there to get the bio going in the filter. In one week tank turned PEA SOUP GREEN. I now put a roof over tank to block the sunlight, thinking that may help. Any thoughts on my build?? I want to keep gizzards in there.
Yeah the sun will turn it green like that. The roof should help. Also spray paint the outside of the tank black. You can also add a UV clarifier to get rid of the green water. You’re gonna want to keep that water as cool as possible for shad.
New subscriber. New to catfishing. We fish the same waters. (Missouri/Mississippi). I’ve had a little bit of success on the top side of Alton. Bait is hit or miss but between harbor and the old lock I tend to find a little bait for the day. The Missouri however is brutal. Never any bait and never hooked into a fish outside of Gar. But determined to keep trying
Thanks for joining! Yes, finding bait on the Missouri is tough. I started getting bait at other locations and keeping them in my tank. I struggled catching fish in the Missouri for a bit but once I figured it out, it’s been some of the best fishing Iv ever experienced. I just stayed determined like you are doing.
I have a question do u sell them
No I don’t. I would need a license for that.
Great video, I'm guessing all to be used for catfishing?
For the most part. I also like to use smaller ones for stripers as well
Do you keep them long enough that you have to feed them?
Iv kept them for over a month and don’t freed them. They get skinny.
Very good video. Thank you for the information. God bless 🙏
My pleasure! Thanks for watching! God bless!
Bagnell dam is so much fun to fish when they pumping water out like they have the last couple weeks. I use a dip net that concrete tears up my cast net bad.
Yes it is. Dip net is the way to go if you can. I need to get a better one for it. My dip net isn’t the best.
The only reason they didn't use beavers to build the dam was because they couldn't find hardhats small enough to fit their little heads.....🦫🫤🤷♂️🤦♂️
😑😐
How many fish are in your big tank?? (tote) I just got a tote. I made a trash can bio filter. Mine is outside. I put 7 small sunfish in there and 2 doz eels. I think the eels are somehow escaping. I found a few in the grass. I want to go get some gizzards now. Good video!
I have around 70 shad in mine but they are 12-17”. I’d have no problem keeping around 200 smaller ones. Gotta be careful adding other fish in with shad. Bluegill don’t do well with the salt and they will peck the eyes out of the shad and kill them. Thanks for watching!
@@anglersitch Have you ever kept eels?
I havnt tried eels yet.
Great explanation. 👍
Thank you sir!
Great video!
Thank you!🎣
Im ready..just waiting on the rain to shut off for a minute..nice job
Thank you! and yeah, the rain has been non stop lately.
Damn !!!!!
That’s what I’m say’n! 😎
Nice work man damn 😅
Why thank you😁
ATTABOY 😉
💪🏼
Nice day on the water! Great fish. When them big ones open up their mouths in the current it makes it alot more challenging. Great video
It sure was! Thanks for watching!
I’ve caught a lot of giant catfish. A lot. I’m never jealous of the cats other guys catch. But nets of bait like that? They just piss me off to no end. Super red eyed monster lol. Sad thing is before you know it they're gone and your throwing the net again.
I hear ya!
Let’s go Benny!! Love the video. Sharing it with my die hard fishing friends and family.
Much appreciated Dave! Thanks for watching!
