    I don't have a need, per say, for a shotgun, but just want to have one if the need arises and i like to be well rounded. I may or may not already have other guns. lol. Anyway, was thinking of spending $250 for a Maverick 88, but for $100, plus shipping, plus FFL transfer, $140 for the gforce seems like a decent idea. What say you?

    • @MikesGunWorld
      @MikesGunWorld 24 дні тому

      Little bit of personal preference. The GForce has a pistol grip/additional shell holder on the stock and Maverick does not have either - had to by a corset to hold extra shells. Both are solid and reliable.

    ¿Is it safe to shoot .22 WMR in a Flobert 6 mm revolver (Iver-Johson circa 1900?) with adapted both firing mechanism (annular) and new barrel? ¿Will the frame, the upper breech and cylinder withstand the explosions? Many thanks. Roberto from Argentina.

    Wow an excellent video of takedown and reassembly of this revolver. I have just purchased a 3rd Model DA/SA in SW 38. Have not picked it up yet but I'm sure at some point I may have to get into it. Mine has the rounded trigger guard and the first three digits of the serial # are 219. So would this be in the 1893 year of build? Might send you a message/email with pictures after I get it in another week or so. I'm a retired Toolmaker so working with mechanical issues is my norm. Thanks for a great video! I have subscribed.

    • @MikesGunWorld
      @MikesGunWorld Місяць тому

      @@fortyshooter1 thank you. Serial #s starting with 119k - 322k were produced from 1891 - 1895. So, yes approximately 1893. That’s about as close as I can get. That’s most likely a black powder pistol so I would recommend not shooting standard smokeless even though I did. Appreciate the support and enjoy the new gun!

    Hello n Greatings from France, since 2 years, I own a model 2 of this revolver, in very good condition (I have a licence for owing guns but in France you can buy such revolver without licence) 😊 I have 38sw cartridge BUT charged with black powder as that gun is very old and i'm really not confortable with modern powder, especially top break 😅 Thx you for your video, it's very useful as if I need to clean after using 😊

However, you moved the object you were working with out of frame a couple of times. I think I got the gist of it. Wish me luck as I proceed to fieldstrip my R92. It needs a cleaning bad.

    Were the parts in the breech lock, is there indication it was "polished" on the first side by side? That could be a reason for the unlocking issue. Some smiths also open the chambers where the shell rims rest. How do rounds chamber? Do the insides need some light polishing?

    • @MikesGunWorld
      @MikesGunWorld 2 місяці тому

      rounds chamber easy and can easily be tossed out during competition. since another full cleaning and polishing, it remains closed with light loads. never an issue - haven't test with factory, but I only shoot at competition, so all good.....

    I don’t know if I would’ve cut the recoil spring, that’s probably going to give you issues later on down the road. I’d get rid of the one you cut. P30 recoil springs are tight and need to be broken in. 500 rounds typically fixes that. Can add some heavier 124/147 grain or nato rounds during that time to help. The wear on your barrel though leads me to believe you may already have enough rounds. If that doesn’t fix it then it would be the extractor spring. My P30sk was having issues extracting, had over a dozen in 1500 rounds. Changed the extractor spring and the rubber piece that goes inside the spring. 2500 rounds later and no more issues

    • @MikesGunWorld
      @MikesGunWorld 4 місяці тому

      I have at least 2500 through it and it actually got worse. So, I do like the thought on the extractor and will look at that next. One of the reasons I saved the original and bought an extra. I can go back to original if I need to. Thanks for checking in and the thoughts on the extractor. Much appreciated!

    On that hammer screw that has the scratch on the frame use some alcohol and wipe it down then some cold blue will cover the scratch or hide that scratch. One thing you did not show was how you got the ejector and collar to stay in, you kind of skipped that. Wondering if it is even in correctly. You made it look simple enough but that ejector collar takes a little more than what you showed. I subscribed to see how your channel grows.

    Go to Midwest Gun Works [MGW] on line to get your factory parts. They are a Stoeger rep and have the parts very reasonable. Also, on the older gun, you may find that the left trigger bar [sear] is bowed a little, mine did the same as yours and it was a new gun. I straightened the the bar and the trigger began working properly and fired when it was expected. In the beginning, the non- latching trigger caused the firing pin to get bent and it stuck in the firing position so when I closed the gun with a new shell, it fired immediately and broke open as yours. Replaced the firing pins and that fixed that issue. When I spoke to the Stoeger rep about the issues they recommended a couple suggestions but said I should just send the gun to them for their gunsmith to look at. They paid both ways and I had the gun back in about a week. Working perfectly and smoothed out. You should put the safety parts back and just trim the pin to remove the auto function so you still have a manual safety. The new replacement spring came and was not as thick as the original and works perfectly and is much lighter.

    Spring is to weak. Put the safety bar back in and cut the back of the breech spring bar off. That allows you to still have a functioning safety.

    • @MikesGunWorld

      I replaced the spring with a factory original and it still blows open..... The gun in the video here is not the one with the problem. It's my other Stoeger. This one is working well. Your feedback is much appreciated. I always retain parts and I may do exactly what you are saying on the safety. Rather have a manual safety versus no safety. Thanks!

    Hi Mike. I'm new to your channel. I happen to have a 38 S&W model 2 that was my grandpas, passed to my dad, then on to me. It is in pieces at the moment, because of a poor gunsmith I had taken it to. He didn't finish it at all. He put some kind of grey cerekote on it. Wasn't supposed to. Do you hire out to work on these guns? I'd like it put back together. I'm a little nervous to try this on my own. Please let me know.

    • @MikesGunWorld
      @MikesGunWorld 7 місяців тому

      Can you send a photo of all the parts and what the gunsmith did? I will be taking on work shortly. I am on the last stage of acquiring my 01 FFL. Once I complete the final step and have my license, I was planning to announce it on the channel. I do have one person from the channel ahead of you who has been very patiently waiting for the FFL process to finish. I'd be happy to help. Stay in touch. You can always reach me privately at MikesGunWorld@gmail.com. Pics might help me assess what needs to be done. Could be quick if no parts are missing.
