most well-looked after subaru I've ever seen
Thank you im trying to sort it out properly
These early Subarus were well made. I'm looking forward to the repair video series already!
I've been working on it but I've had to work a lot of extra hours at my day job so I haven't had much time for editing but I hope to get part 2 out soon
Hope you got it home! Did the same woth an 03 Subaru and she lasted me though highschool :)
Yep it made it home and then I had to do a bunch of repairs I filmed all of it just haven't had time to edit the next part of the video series yet
What junkyard is this?
Carson city pick n pull
Dang. If I lived near you I’d do your detailing videos 😅
It would be awsome if you did
Dude. Wear gloves lol
I had a mask at least
So what makes that tool special? What’s the shape of the male end that fits into plug?
It's a square but it's cut to fit only the size of the oil drain plug on the Peugeot and then the other end is for the differential drain plug and the transmission drain plug and no 1/4 inch or 3/8 ratchet head will not fit in there it's specific to the size of that tool
Thousands if not hundreds of thousands of these Subarus in New Zealand
👍
Wow what yard is this
Carson city
I purchased a 1994 Legacy Turbo wagon for $300 off Craigslist circa 2010. Ran and drove, front bumper was missing.
You were lucky to get a turbo one those are pretty rare
It was listed for months, the lady who owned it had no idea what it was. She bought it as a cheap commuter. Subarus are inherently garbage, the early/mid nineties weren’t terrible, they got much worse with the EJ25. Subarus are a cult, they are expensive, parts are expensive, and you need double of everything in the engine bay. Including machine work. They engines pop head gaskets, use oil, leak oil, and then the rods exit the chat. But somehow people defend them, and continue to buy them. I learned my lesson on that 1994 (engine failed), and a 1999 forester that cooked the head gaskets (had headgaskets and a new reman block under warranty by Subaru) and it made 30k before it cooked the third set of HG). I commend you on saving them, but make no excuses, I would rather have a Lebaron. And that’s a terrible car. You should buy that low mileage Oldsmobile, my aunt had one when I was a kid.
@@LinusCloudbuster if i could afford it i would i don't mind a project i talk trash about Subaru oil and coolant leaks in the video lol i know what they are i like to poke fun but i still don't mind working on them
Ho didn't knew these vans have a manual command to open an close the rear windows. I knew the electric version or the manual just manipulate yourself the compas of the windows to open or close it. Intresting.
I had no idea ither i was suprised
A little bunch of cool 80's classics ( and 90's ) . Sad to see this Mivnivan here, we need them all. And the Mitsubishi too.
I wish i could save them all
❤504❤
People have been brainwashed to not like anything that's not made in 'murica. They will probably start crushing any " foreign" or electric cars next year.
yeah, people tend to be stunned if you're driving around something this old lol
One of the easiest cambelts to change. Drive it survivor/patina style.
it needs many things other than just the cambelt lol
@the505collector indeed. But they're all easy to do.
Get me Volvo parts
I follow your videos. I had a 1976 USA manual model, I currently have a 1977 European model..ssame engine
Great sucess, but watch this unlucky pegot 505. ua-cam.com/video/hCC4SPid39g/v-deo.htmlsi=koSibDOyol98ReRk
Ho can you convert it to non ABS brake ? That would solve the propblem. In France you can't do any modification unless you repass homologation. But I don't know if some parts are impossible to find or too expensive, maybe there is some flex. Maybe in the US it's a lot easier to stay legal while mounting some original non ABS brakes.
it can be converted but many things need to be changed
Real life GTA vibes...fff
Hey buddy, I’m the one that steered you to this one. I have the entire history from 2011 that ultimately had the car end up in Napa with a piece of plywood covering the broken back window. I could go on 😉
I couldn't remember if it was you or marc it was driving me crazy in the video I was like damn it I can't remember who did it it was so many years ago
Classics in North America. Rubbish in Europe. Peugeot 309 or 205 GTI are the best
What happened to your 405?
I had a 405 Sport Wagon back in the day a few years ago but it needed lots of repairs and at the time I didn't have the storage for it so I sold it to my good friend savo he swapped in a different engine and spent a whole bunch of time working on it and really made it into a beautiful car
Hello, guy with the CX wagon here. I looked a couple more times for your email. I might just be stupid but I no see. I’d be happy to send you pictures.
Thomaskinder89@gmail.com
Awesome!
Car review and guided tour at the same time!
Awesome. I took that same road to town as well. Super scenic ❤
i like the wheels
Thank you I did them myself little bit of custom work and a little bit of powder coating
I have a Citroen c/m wagon you need in your fleet
Sorry, CX
That's super cool what kind of condition is it in
@ running and driving. Has a couple electrical issues but runs quite nicely
I wouldn't mind knowing more about it I've got a email address on my profile page for my UA-cam
For some reason I cannot find it, I’ll keep trying
What car is this???
1984 Peugeot 505 turbo diesel
Cars! They keep trying to die (To the tune of “Men! We don’t know what we did)
we never give up never surrender
I miss my 505 turbo.
That’s the fun part! 😊😂
Love the Peugeot 504 . And Hallo from Sweden
I have one of those
Wish I had one. Keep making videoes on the thing i love it.
There's one on my Channel right now check it out
Looks like my ae82 corolla
similar in some ways yes
Enjoyed the video Thomas. Quick question though, I know you said you had trouble getting parts for the ps rack, but the few that you did find, where did you purchase them from? Going to attempt to rebuild a rack on one of my 505’s as well.
I got the parts from javel Inc out of Dallas Texas the parts were New Old Stock
Wow 😮
Only way that thing is a "collectible" is after the Apocalypse.
That car will be one of the only ones still running after an EMP apocalypse
Thought about let them glow plugs glow a few times? Haha
I did I cycled the key four times before I turned the video on she was just a tough one to get going that morning
Also we gotta get a rev video. GIVE HER THE BEANS BROTHA
That's something I I can do I'll put out another short just subscribe so you won't miss it when i do
Any plans to rear wheel drive swap it?
No plans to rear wheel drive swapping but I do plan on doing a whole video series about the car on my UA-cam channel including the story of how I got it and how it ended up with one dead cylinder and and then the repair of doing the head gasket and valve job on it as well as restoration
That IndeNord diesel sounds glorious. One of the best running diesels I know.
V8??
Nope not a v8
@ the what is it
Bmw built M21 diesel engine
Best car!
Too bad it's not running right now lol
the dashboard was ahead of it's time looks futuristic have a 89 station wagon fixed in changes from twin cab to magnito the dink floats I prefer petrol to diesel it's silent n the engine sounds Soo powerful close to 2k cc GR
I also have a few other Peugeot 505s that I hope to do video of soon I have both a series 1 and a series 2 I prefer the 86 and up dashboard personaly
No criticisms. Very much enjoyed the video. Years ago I had a gray 1984 STI turbodiesel that I got rid of because it needed a clutch that I couldn’t afford. Wonderful driving and handling car.
Thank you i enjoy my sti even though it's not a automatic I wish it was a manual but I have other Peugeot that can scratch my itch for Speed I keep enough stuff fixed on this old diesel so I can continue to drive it remember don't get it right just get it running and enjoy it
Yes VAG engine das auto😂
yes audi diesel 2.4 6 cyl
