It sounds like “hate” is more realistically resentment. Also, as hard as we may all try-no one can make ANYONE LOVE ANYONE. Behaviors can’t do that. This truly is a transactional type of relationship and if I give to my spouse XYZ, I can now expect XYZ because it’s pre-paid for. Thats scary and unsafe for many families-especially women.

Joe and Stephanie, this is a wonderful and powerful testimony and message.

Just wow! Lynn doesn't know it but she has been such an inspiration to me over many years. I have read 2 of her books, "Winning Him Without Words" and "March Around Jericho".... amazing books! I happen to be the man who believes in God in our spiritually mismatched marriage.. my wife being the unbeliever. Been married 48 years and yes waiting on God all those 48 years. I struggled so much early on and almost forced a divorce in the early years, BUT God gave me direction by His word, as He said to not leave the marriage if the spouse is willing to live with you. There are MANY ways that God has encouraged me throughout the years and the faith that has built up in me is like Mount Everest. I have no other explanation other than it is God Himself who gives me greater faith. NEVER give up! I have had many struggles on this faith journey and have even gone years sometimes without her going to church with me. However just in the last few months she has come to church with me 3 times! The promises and visions He has given me over the years, that she WILL COME TO JESUS, I know it will happen. God Bless You Lynn!

Marriage is a relationship of extraordinary care... we are our beloved's agent for happiness, we must avoid hurting them, and we must make joint decisions for mutual care. (WWJD). We do not have a *right* to be loved by the one we love. Rather, we cultivate the love for us that we want by treating our beloved with extraordinary care. It's so true, that this EXTRA care is so inevitably romantic. How to make a great thing last.
