These people will never learn how much danger we put ourselves in every time! We could so easily die, and so could the horse! There is so much work we put into our sport, and they say "oh, no you just sit there!" Like, no! WE DON"T

I know I'm 2 ys late but to those equestrians who face people saying it's not a sport don't listen to them they just think that because they see the easy side of it they don't see the hours of pain and dedication that goes through it. They don't see the falls and how we just get back up and keep going we are all behind you ❤

Jealously has a lot yo day about people putting down equine disciplines. Mostly because they don't have the guts to get on a 1100 lb creature that thinks for its self. An experienced rider/horse is an athletic team. Hours of training & participating in perfecting the best results.

I NEED TO SHOW THIS TO MY CLASSMATES THEY ALWAYS BE LIKE "Horse rideing is easy oh its not a sport you just sit there anyone can do it horses killed people because of WWI And WWII AND FIRST OF ALL THE HORSES DID NOTHING??!!! LIGGET IT WAS A WAR THE HORSES HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH IT WE JUST RODE THEM DURRING THE WAR at that point i was ready to set fire to the school leaving everyone inside

Even some of my friends bully me for being an equestrian. One day my class went on a field trip and all the did was talk bad about us. It took everything in me not to punch them but they don't see the hours of training, the early mornings and the late nights, they have never worked with a animal that can kill you in a instant if it wanted. They have never been bucked or bite or kicked, they have never been in a hospital because there partner hurt them, they have never danced through silence and they have NEVER had to go through the loss of a horse only to get back on and do the same thing. I think before they bully us, they should try it, then say what they say

This is exactly why I want to ride horses (Not for the death btw!) It’s incredible, to have an animal that could so easily kill you become your friend, who you trust and who trusts you. There’s an enormous amount of effort put into being an equestrian, but in my opinion it’s worth it (and my opinion probably doesn’t amount to much because as of yet I have sat on a horse ONCE 😅) Keep doing what you love equestrians, and I hope one day to join you

We are not riding bikes over sloped hills called jumps. We are riding huge, living, breathing animals with thoughts of their own over vertical jumps that can be taller than us, we are doing this in a few minutes, but each second is a risk to our life. We gallop a horse toward a barrel, we then proceed to get close enough to touch that barrel while we guide our horse around it, we do 3 barrels in less than 20 seconds. We need to bond with an animal that could kill us, all we have to aid us is our voice, our body, sometimes a whip and/or spurs for correction and clarification. The horse has a mind, each horse is different, you could have a perfect ride one day but have a terrible accident the next. Riding a horse is 10x harder than riding a bike. We can’t just sit there, in fact in a lot of sports you do less mentally. You do not have to think about every stride, you don’t have to look at the path ahead and think, should I ask my horse to extend, collect, is it a good distance, is there enough energy, is there enough time to adjust anything, how much leg do I need, is this fence too high, what if we get to close or go from too far and my horse gets injured. If we crash, there are two lives on the line. That is why horse riding is just as much about the rider as it the horse, it cannot be compared to any other sport. Horses are not machines even though together we make it look easy, it just means we are doing our jobs. This was just a rant and the video was amazing. Too many people overlook riding as a sport. We have to do more in 1 ride than most of them do in season.

People always say horse back riding isn’t a sport . But it’s in the Olympic ! People say football is a sport but it’s not even in the Olympic ( yes I know football is only in the USA but you k ow what I mean
