Im getting something coming up in the process of installing the drivers "vulkan icd loader not detected", lets me proceed but the GPU isnt doing the transcoding (double checked the "phone numbers' are correct). this Vulkan ICD being missing is the only thing that appears to be different on my installation

how about doing an updated video on installing plex on truenas scale 24.04.2.3, been watching countless videos and can't get it running because everything is so different between versions. brand new to truenas and have my storage setup and plex server running on a win 10 machine

This video may be old but it still works to get your NVIDIA card up and going within the latest proxmox (as of post 8.x) I just used this to install drivers and get my Emby/Jelly LXCs up and running with my P2000.

What would be the way to update drivers for a different GPU card?

So, once I create my pool and add an user to it, and everything as you did - Can I/ Should I create a different pool for movies and install Plex on it? My goal is to use truenas as a data storage and also I want to run a plex player, but I don't want my data to be shown for everyone who watch the tv? What is the best way to doing it? Create a different user? Or different pool ? How can I differentiate the 2?

HI LoRes. After mount -a I got the diagnostic message "mount: /mnt: mount(2) system call failed: Operation now in progress. dmesg(1) may have more information after failed mount system call". because of "system call failed", from Proxmox node I tried to ping the external server, which is my pc (connected with the proxmox server pc through ethernet cable) and I couln´t ping it. but I can ping the proxmox server from the external server pc! Promox node, LXC, and external server have the same subnet (24). Info: I am connecting from the external server pc to the proxmox server via the web server with 192.168.xx.xx.8xxx! any idea?

How can I solve this? Thank you.

Update to my post from April, after two kernel updates and reboots which would cause me to lose GPU passthrough of my 1660ti, I have learned a couple things. This most recent one I had to not only reinstall nv drivers, but install the latest drivers to get things playing nice again. But also with Proxmox 8.2+, you don't need to edit a config to do GPU passthru. I commented out all my GPU passthru lines in the nano /etc/pve/lxc/(YOURCONTAINERID).conf and used the WebGUI, so far that was a little quicker and easier and the results have been stable and smooth. I still mostly follow this great guide, but just some changes/tweaks I've made to the process I figured I would share here for now. 1. On the Proxmox host shell itself, when re-installing the driver use the --dkms flag. 2. In Proxmox WebGUI, go to Plex LXC > Resources > Add > Device Passthrough 3. Add each of this as individual Passthrough Devices: /dev/nvidia0 /dev/nvidiactl /dev/nvidia-modeset /dev/nvidia-uvm /dev/nvidia-uvm-tools 4. Reboot 5. On the Plex LXC console, when re-installing the nv driver, use the --no-kernel-module flag 6. Reboot. After, use nvidia-smi or something like Netdata monitoring. Check plex is using the device by transcoding something from 4k to 1080p/720p/etc.

Very helpful run through. I've been able to set up four VLANs and WiFi networks for home, work, guest and IoT, with two switches, two APs etc. and it's working well. The web interface on the UCG Ultra is very good. I was reading up for a while on VLANs vs. subnets, but in the end it's as simple as having four subnets and four VLANs, one to one. Only a few switch ports are isolated for some of the work clients. The only issue I ran into was with an AP that was dropping Android phones. Turns out I had it on a port that was set to carry a specific VLAN instead of the default one For the APs, just leave their upstream switch or router port on the default network and Allow All VLANs. The clients are set up to connect to a specific WiFi network, which is tied to a specific VLAN and subnet, so it all sorts itself out in the routing. (Not all clients can deal with VLAN tagging.)

How can we route those applications? Like what if we want a specific browser to go to france so that when we use that browser, then we can get local news from france pretty easily without searches because its local?

Thanks for this; I’ve been seeking an alternative solution to downloading through QbitTorrent and using Real-Debrid instead. Once you’ve used something like RD that makes downloading things almost trivial, you’ll never want to go back to regular torrent clients again. I’m putting these together, with Whisparr and the accompanying auxiliaries, and trying to ensure that all of it can be funneled into my cloud server-which will, hopefully, give me the means to build my media library indefinitely. Thanks so much for posting this tutorial; very helpful.

Couleur you make an update with the TrueCharts no longer beeing available?

I found I had to run these commands on both nodes for it to release the quorum (v8.2.4) Was a bit of panic, but got there in the end :)

FYI to anyone trying to install PIhole with this guide the Truecharts group has stopped supporting Truenas and has deleted their whole catalog. The download portion of this guide won't work anymore. Edit: The rest of the guide still works, just use the offical pihole docker

Good video I think you are the only one that's ever used the quick boot menu, others lead people into the bios just to boot the install stick. Only thing I think could have been changed is wiping the test disk to eliminate the optional install choices, but still a good video. Was wondering if you have ever tried Ventoy for USB install stick, it's the only boot stick you'll ever need, as it allows for the drop and drag of images.
