dude! I hear "I have a pretty high end setup" several times during the video, but never hear the specs? I checked your channel, and no specs listed? So what is your setup? Nice for reference
Geeze, I can't belive I forgot to put those in the description. Thanks for saying something. I've placed them in the description. My system is around a 1 year old. I felt it was pretty good for the time. Not the best but exceeded my expections for VR.
you settings helped, i also tried the -vrnomirror comand that i seen in comments and that also helped alot to. just have to use buttons on wheel now for menu navigation. Only thing i havent figured out yet is how to access options menu without the mouse. Thanks also newest try tool i found was 0.86, where did you get 0.87?
I can't recall if I mapped it but my space bar brings up options.
I tried these settings and I don't think some of them do much. Fluid motion frames doesn't work in VR. And I think the only reason you can run max resolution plus super sampling is that you're cutting off half the field of view in debug tool. Can put up with it in GT cars but not in open top.
Yeah I think fluid motion can be left off in most cases but left it on in the video. I just thought maybe it would help some people? Your right about the FOV. It can be a bit immersion breaking when really low. It's a trade off I guess.
Great video, thanks!! I am also using the -vrnomirror option, since it gives me a significative boost. I wonder if you/someone can point me in the right direction, I am not able to browse menu via keyboard (no mouse because of vrnomirror). I discovered that spacebar actives the option voice, but I am not able to save for example. Do we have any guide to use AMS only with a keyboard (again, no mouse). Thanks
Hello, I tired that launch option and found the lack of mouse control to be frustrating. It does give a great boost though. I'd recommend a Xbox or PlayStation controller to navigate.
using the buttons on my wheel is how im navigating the menu, only thing i havent figured out yet is how to access the options without a mouse.
Dude I can't thank you enough for this, I've got AMS 2 looking better than ever on my Quest 2, I've been able to turn up some settings and turn mirrors back on AND it's running at a better frame rate than I've had before. Amazing work.
Tha is for letting me know. Feels good to hear this. Glad it helped you out.
Thanks mate gonna try it later this day …first time vr with ace
I hope it helps!
@ i hope so but i have 1 problem i get not 1 visual in my head set but 2 separate images ….and not 1 beer today .😅😅
I thought id tried everything until following your video to the letter , after a recent upgrade was experiencing awful ghosting of images and cars dropping in and out of focus , so not sure whats solved this but its now gone 🎉🎉😊 thankyou !!! ( i wont be touching another setting !)
Glad it helped. I also experienced ghosting. Once I solved it I wanted to share these settings.
I've tried to buy you a ☕️ but it won't let me , I'll try again later
Thanks mate this is a very good one …i was lost after not using cable for a while ..i use virt.deskt. For Slower games ..shooters ext ext …but with racing cable says no 😂😂😂…thanks for this good guide tip vid …tops👍💪✌️
Why set the Super-Sampling to 1.5 in the headset settings, then chop it down in the tray tool settings?
Hello, thanks for the message. As I understand it. The meta app is the base resolution then super sampling multiplies to get an even sharper clearer image Here’s how they interact: Meta App (Rendering Resolution): This sets the baseline render resolution before any super sampling is applied. Setting it to 1.5x increases the default resolution, making everything sharper but also more demanding on your GPU. Oculus Debug Tool (Super Sampling): This applies an additional multiplier on top of the Meta app setting. If you set super sampling in ODT to 1.5x, it multiplies the resolution set by the Meta app (not the native resolution of the headset).
😺✌🏻
Bad guide, suggests using fake frame generation as a valid fix to bad performance.
Thanks for the note. I did try turning off fluid motion frames and it ran great. It may help others though.
Everything that will help is a step for some but not all, that doesn´t make it a bad guide, WTF! Where is your guide?
My recommendation DebugTool = Distortion Curvature = Default (Low it's really HIGH and Default it's LOW, it's a bug in the app, you can confirmed with the "Performance HUD on ... Oculus Link info") Video Codec = H264 Sliced Encoding = OFF Encode Resolution Width = 4096 (it's the real limit, no matter what number you put above that) Encode Bitrate = 900 - 960 (it's the limit) Link Sharpering = Disable Local Dimming = Disable (Quest Pro it's the only headset from Meta that got Local Dimming) And forget about Oculus Tray, that app don't do anything new and it's not has been updated in years Ambien occlusion OFF on game settings, it has a bug right now, everything look too dark.
Turn OFF the "Hardware-Accelerated GPU Scheduling" for any game in PC VR on Quest 2 and 3, it's a lot better, zero sttutering.
These are really good tips but the only setting that I can't stand in sim racing is ASW auto. I am super happy that kunos actually cares about vr and that improvements are in the roadmap cause most devs (I'm talking about you EA) don't care about VR. I think that by the end of the year, this will dethrone AMS2 as the best VR looking sim out there.
thank
It’s annoying that you have to do all this when ACC works perfectly with just in-game settings
Yeh, but it wasn´t so from the start, I bought ACC when it was EA and got completely disappointed it was years after and many updates later that I was able to use ACC with my Quest 2.
@ yes good point, hopefully in time vr in EVO will improve
To early to access …or just a early one …gets better with the year progresses for sure ….burt gonna try it out for the first time in vr with cable ….with these setting …
ACC is cheeks in VR
I just got abysmal ghosting of like half of the moving pixels (a random number of them just didn't refresh, and it looked like the hyperdrive tunnel). The POV also was stuck around 1 meter above where it should have been, so i had to look at menus through my monitor, and driving in the drivers seat resulted in being over the car. I have a RX7800 XT, and i hope it will all get sorted out within the year. On flatscreen it looks really good, but i have to run at low settings to not get any stutters.
Sorry to hear that. Hopefully they optimize the game sooner or later and then we can all enjoy it at its full capacity.
@ for now flatscreen at lowest settings still looks very good tbh, and the only thing i have to turn a bit up is the mirror resolution. Maybe i can try lossless scaling to get more frames, as it is pretty good
You lost me at step #1
Great video! Another tip that helped a lot was the "-vrnomirror" command for steam launch options. Then you're only rendering whats in the headset rather than 2 images. The downside is menu navigation can be annoying with keyboard (as your mouse wont work anymore) but you can plug in an xbox/ps4 controller, enable steam input, and you're off to the races again!
Thanks for that tip!
Your settings are off the chain man!!! So cool!!! If you race from helmet cam you can go as further as 0.7; 0.3 in FOV tangent multiplier and see no difference at all, it is the only thing I do and all my settings are set to high + 1.5 SS in Oculus app (4070 + 5800x3D) + Quest 2. Can´t wait to go into a Quest 3 before the end of the year.
I thank you for your're vid. Did you ever get around to doing a vid on dnssec etc?
Thanks for the tips. A couple of questions: 1) oculus debug tool and oculus tray tool: do you have to use only one ? Or can you use both in the same time? The config of one of them "overwrite" the other? 2) do the monitor resolution have inpact on quality in VR? If I had a fullHD monitor (and the resolution in game option is 1920x1080) do I have a worst vision than if I had a 4k monitor (and in game 4k resolution)? Thank you

Great overview, for me switching from steamvr to openxr & open composite improved performance as well.
That was on the past, now it's better Oculus Runtime than OpenXR or SteamVR. Remember that OpenXR it does not get any update since about 4 years, and will not be more updates, Meta Oculus Runtime gets updates on each new Quest Update.
@SuperDigitalAI I just did a test again yesterday and performance was still 5-10 FPS better with openxr.
Tha is for the suggestion. I'll have to explore openXR again. Haven't used it since playing with MSFS2020.
Excellent video. I love the difference this has made. Subscribed!!!
Thanks! Happy it helped you out.
Thanks for the launch option! Now I have control of the mouse again
Excellent tips mate!! Ill try that on my quest 2 with my rx 6750 xt.
How did it end up working? I'm running a 6800xt and would love to hear what settings and performance you're getting now
can u do one for Virtual desktop + VRChat??
I thought I had it all optimized, but this has taken it to another level. I didn't use all of the suggestions. I have an RTX card and I didn't use the oculus tray tool and it still looks great. Good work fella!
Thanks for sharing!
@Stent.Tech1 Tried LMU in VR for the first time yesterday and that looks even better straight out of the gate. Even without any game tweaks.
But AMD fluid motion frames should only work in fullscreen mode.. Can you confirm that it works in VR?
Thanks for your question. It seemed to help in my experience and I've read that others use it in VR. Give it a try if you have that option and let us know your opinion.
Vinaigrette: No 🤣🤣 But in all seriousness, thanks for the super helpful guide!
LMAO! I didn't even notice I said that. The most delicious of settings.
I don’t know how you guys are maxing out you Rez. I have a 4090 with a 13700 with re bar enabled 64 gb ddr 5 and I can’t max out in game settings and resolution on the Quest soft ware.
oculus tray tool or ocukus debug tool. I like the tray tool better
@ I use the debug tool haven’t used the trade tool
@steffendetrick turn up the super sampling to 1.5- 2, then the f.o.v to 80/80, encode resolution to like 4040 then the encode bitrate to 600 and dynamic bitrate max to 940. I have a 3060 laptop and obviously I can't go as high as I suggested for your card but I can definitely crank them all up and its a beautiful crisp playing experience. Same options for debug tool as the tray tool but it seems to work better with the tray tool. Enjoy!
@@arenam79 so I use debug tool and the tray tool together or is it one or the other? And thank you!
@steffendetrick one or the other
I have a quest 3 wifi 6 to my router. It is smooth and I don't go anything higher than 72fps. I use virtual desktop with all settings maxed, including godlike visual, snapdragon sharpening, sharpening increased 100%. Besides it looking like 8k performance, the only problem I have is the quest 3 screen. It's fantastic already but it is limited to it's pixel count just like any other headset. ams2 settings are all maxed out. I turned down msaa just because it blurs it and I prefer low. With this setup, It is godlike beyond the oculus software and tweaks offerings. The other issue I have with virtual Desktop is if steamVR is not setup to direct rendering, launching the game will have no sound. solution is to use the mouse on the desktop and left-click the game window screen and the sound will return because you focused on the window. Solution is to go into steamVR and developer and enable direct rendering. 1.5 supersampling is way enough. FUnny thing is you can run SS at 70% and because the software and hardware of virtualdestkop is that good in keeping visuals looking like 8k, you can gain so much performance.
You only use virtual destkop?no steam vr?
@@FuNzZyPT You can launch the games in virtual desktop but if your client settings openXR is set to auto, your game will run at 1.0 SS which is fine because virtual desktop is really good at making everything look crisp even at .5 ss. if y ou force openXR to steamVR, then it is based on the SS on steamVR. I run my openXR runtime with SteamVR. I noticed some games will not work on steamVR where running the OpenXR runtime at VDXR does work fine on some rare old games.
@ im using steam vr and very disappointed
@@FuNzZyPT It's okay. wifi 5 has issues. wifi 6 is the way to go as long as you are in the same room of the wifi that is connected ethernet to the pc. I have a wifi 6 mesh system by the almost to be banned TP-link. I had to do some modifications to the default to get it to work perfect. I can play from my backyard now. SteamVR link software is not that great but you do need to have a wifi6 system and pc connected to the Ethernet of the wifi router. The wifi6 bandwidth all needs to be in the middle settings because for some odd reason, the quest 3 has issues connecting to the wifi6 if the bandwidth is high up on the bandwidth and channel.
For this sim I just use the Meta desktop app and launch with the Meta/Oculus VR option when i press play from my Steam library. I use Virtual desktop for VR games that don't support the Meta Desktop app nativly. Like MS FlightSim2020 and Half Life Alyx.
MSAA high is a big hit on performance and imo not a great visual improvement if any over medium. I run a 4090 and prefer a higher resolution. But i do dislike aliasing alot but medium is enough for me.
Thanks for the tip @2ndLastJedi! I did lower MSAA to "Medium" and I don't really notice a visual difference. Runs smooth!
Good video, there are a few things here that i havent tried myself. I will check it out. Do you mind telling us your which gpu you have? I have an AMD6950xt and am currently running lower graphics options than you
Hello, thanks for reaching out. I am fortunate to have an AMD 7900XTX 3D GPU as well as a 7800X3D CPU. You may find that you need to set game details to medium/high. However, combining all these steps should bump up your FPS.
Thanks for this. Is it possible for you to share a docker-compose config for this?
Hello, thanks for your comment. I will try and do up a compose config and video for you.
Nice! Thanks for sharing :)
Aqui não deu, porque em um momento vc esta dentro da pasta /opt/xibo depois esta em /op/xibo/xibo-docker e depois deve copiar algum arquivo que esqueceu de explicar mas vlw a tentativa
Looks like a REALLY complicated pain in the ads (pun).
please can you guide me on how to install xibo on docker, i am struggle on this please
i cant get this to work i followed all the instructions
Nice video. I had problems with Argon2 Key Gen at first but now it works great. Cloudflare is almost better than a prefixed DDNS. Thanks!
Glad it helped!
About the domain... Did you buy a real domain or did you just make something up?
apologies for the delay response. I did purchase one from a provider like Namecheap.
"promo sm" 🤤
