2011 Comparison - STI vs RI
Переглядів 57 тис.5 років тому
Here I am going to break down the differences between two of my match pistols, an STI Edge and a Rock Island TAC A1, both in 9mm
Is that a everglades amo trigger on the rock island?
Why does everyone forget the fact that para ordinance done it first
Lol i wish geisseles were still 200 lol
What holster are you running for the rock island
Did you get a new channel?
Is that your magazine drop button all big and green?
22tcm is actually a shortened 223 or 556 x45 . 9mm too short
Picked up a RA-140 for $73 shipped on 12-25-22
I’ve noticed the RIA 2011’s have reliability issues in the 9mm ones. I have one in .45 and it hasn’t jammed yet. I don’t shoot it often but I’ll use it when i go hog hunting to finish them off or just when I wanna ring some steel
g code scorpion rifle pouch.....can attach to Teklok. The pouch also stays more "open" so it is quite easy to reinsert magazine as opposed to the HSGI tacos that are soft pouches
nice aero precision lower
.22 Tcm actually isn’t a 9mm necked down to .22. It’s case is actually based off of the .223. They just happen to be the right dimensions to feed out of 9mm mags.
do they use the same holster?
have you tried these with a 50rnd extended pistol mag at all?
Remember when shitty UA-cam videos didn't show up on a search?
You succeeded on making them looking like made in china toys well done
Agreed. Ugliest guns I've ever seen. He'll never be able to sell them for anywhere near what he paid.
Middle finger = instant subscribe 🖕
I feel like since I installed my Triggertech in my rifle when I charge the bolt carrier that high hammer feels like it’s creating more drag in the rifle. Has anyone else had this experience
I have a shorty 308 with a cmc 2.5lb. It has tightened my groups alot. Shot my friends ssp giessle very impressed. Was dead set on it. Until I saw videos of the triggertech. As of now do you still like the triggertech?
I love it. I definitely have it set more for speed than precision stuff. It has such a short reset and light pull that my 3gun times have increased a lot. For precision and long range I still prefer the Giessle National Match, I actually have 2 now. It has a more pronounced second stage which is what I prefer in that scenario.
I have a rise 149 straight trigger so I was interested to see if you had any different results. I have not fired anything with it yet just measured the pull. I got 3.5 & 3.8 never more or less. The big surprise was the 2.6lbs from my wasr-10 spec trigger. That baby was born to run fast.
Like buttered lard.. I’m stealing that
What flashlight is on the rock island ?
your microphone must be attached to your tabletop, because there's a boom every time you pound your hand/fingers on your tabletop
do an update on triggers for the AR15
Is the triggertech reliable? Ever have any light strikes? And does it run good when dirty
Rise armament
Just ordered my triggertech diamond for my ar (DDM4V7)
How do you like it so far? Have you had any issues with light primer strikes?
@@asdfghjk2933 I fucken love it!!! Noo light primers it's almost Impossible with a triggertech look at there designe no matter the pull weight the hammer will always hit the same
@@covarrubias736 Thanks man, that's awesome to hear. That was the one thing I was worried about. This thing is freaking expensive, but it seems to be one of the best triggers you can possibly get for an AR.
I have the Triggertech Diamind AR. It's worth the money. Truly is amazing
you should have wayyyyy more subs
I'm going to get that rise armament trigger
I have diamond trigger would never buy any other trigger again
Think it's better than the hiperfire eclipse?
better late than never TriggerTech rules <3
i have exactly the same RIA 2011 as you have, mine is in 40 cal but i don't have any problem with any kind of ammo brand, it works perfectly no jam
One of the better reviews I’ve seen.
Great video! Any tips on installing the antiwalk pins with the Hiperfire trigger? Hear on forums that they can affect the trigger feel and weight
geissele 3 stage trigger!!!
I have adopted the HyperFire Hyper Touch 24C. No other Trigger can compare for the money. The “spaghetti” feeling??? I have never experienced that. Try moving the little red trigger adjustable add on or remove it. Yea yea yea Trigger Tech is as you said it, complicated. It Is only a bench trigger. Many experts say never take it into battle because it needs cleaning and care. Htperfire trigger system is a simple trigger designed to work under all conditions. second choice is a Geissele. Again not a drop in most people know nothing about, and don’t know how to fix or get the parts to repair. You may have to send it back and get it repaired. Dropins are finicky and for the bench. Been there done that. I don’t like things I cant fix or get parts to repair it. My Hypertouch triggers all pull around 3 pounds. All four. I don’t need a lighter pull than that. Like Jerry Miculek says: If your shooting is affected by its pull, you are not shooting fast enough.
Are their parts interchangeable? Sti parts for the RIA and vice versa?
I have a few Geissele triggers. Love them. Thinking about Triggertech now. Price is down to $240.
Will the RIA fit in any 2011 holster?
What trigger would u use to win matches?
Practice. Any of these are capable of winning a match, but it is good to come down to how much time you have put into your fundamentals. That said I am really happy with the trigger tech that I am running
@@pappytspewsnthings4588 your right thanks. Practice equals shooting about how much ammo a month?
@@pappytspewsnthings4588 Could I use the triggertech diamond set between 2 and 3 lbs in my Shtf/self defense ar 15? I also use the rifle for precision target shooting as well. Or should I stay with my stock mil spec trigger?
@@philipstrotherjr8842Yes, it is a great choice. Many people will say that's too light for HD (let alone the 1.5lbs it can go down to), but as long as you practice good trigger discipline, you'll be fine.
Great video and why in the Hell you don't have more subscribers is beyond me. I've been shooting for about 46 years, mainly long guns as in shotgun and bolt guns. Then moved onto handguns in '93 and never desired an AR until the Sandy Hook deal and any time there's a threat from the government to take away or tell me I can't do or own something that is Constitutional I revolt. Just like when Clinton said in the early 90s he was doing the 10 round magazine ban, I went the next day and bought an Italian Beretta 92FS in stainless and a shit ton of mags and I still have that super accurate handgun. But after Sandy Hook I spent months researching each individual spring, pin, and component of the AR platform and I built my own. It has stuff from Spike's, Seekins, Larue, PSA, BCM, Wilson Combat, Sprinco, B5 Systems, Geissele, Midwest Industries, Red Jacket, among others. I probably couldn't sell it for $700 even though I have twice that much in the build. I shoot with several friends and would choose mine over them all, not just because it's the research and my build, etc. just because it's way more perfect for me in my opinion. Anyways, what I'm getting at is you are very detailed and do a great job reviewing in this video and I wish you would make many more. Just wanted to take the time and personally thank you. God Bless and keep up the great work.
Hey! I'm not new to shooting, but I am new to the ar platform. Why wouldn't you use the ra140 in a duty rifle?
It's not so much that I wouldn't recommend it for a duty build, just that I prefer the feel of the hyperfire.
Magazines - AdvancedTactical.com has magazines for RIA A2 (double stack) from ACT-MAG (same manufacturer as mags shipped from RIA) in standard 120mm - $35, and extended 140mm (19rd) - $80 and 170mm (29 rd) - $90. The extended mags also accept the Dawson Tooless +2 base pads, as well as any base pads intended for Para 14.45 magazines. Weight - Taylor Freelance makes aluminum mag well with a larger opening to replace the steel one from RIA.
They ripped off the gcode scorpion mag pouches design
where did you get the grips for the RI?
Can I put a p90 mag in it
Hey, what magazines would you recommend for use in the RIA? I just got the 9MM Tac Ultra FC HC, and the stock mag doesn’t work at all. Haven’t been able to get response from RIA or the company I purchased the pistol from
Mec Gar P18 if you can find em. You’ll need to either grind down the base plate a little or get some mag extensions
Good review and comparison I think I’ll probably get the idogear rifle mag pouches for mounting to my belt for 2 gun competitions and just range use. I think they should be good for that since I’m just getting started and I don’t want to spend a ton of money on high end gear. Looks like I should stick with the HSGI or gcode taco mags instead for pistol. Or maybe just a cheap double pistol mag plastic holder for belt side mount. I need a good option to hold two pistol mags support side on my belt that won’t break the bank.
What brand are those grips you have on the first 2 lowers?
Tactical Link PDW Grips. They are my favorite for non-prone shooting because they are far more vertical than most. And they feel amazing, super grippy.
